Lana's father Wade Wilson a.k.a Slade was sold to the mafia as a child to repay his father's debts.
After a scandalous affair with a woman, he leaves her with an infant Lana, who is taken by the mafia when she's a child. They raise Lana to be a soldier and send her on missions of espionage and assassination.
Slade takes an interest in her after her innumerable successes. He tracks her down and recruits her as his sidekick and she becomes Blade.
When she discovers the truth and tries to rebel against her father, he activates a kill switch on her suit that sends an electric shock through her body, which Slade can control the intensity of.
She goes up against the Teen Titans.
When Slade recruits Robin as his new apprentice, she fights even harder against her dad.
The Titans manage to free both her and Robin. She disappears, ashamed to face the team of heroes.
Later, Lana returns with a new suit and a new identity as Guardian. She often works in tandem with the Titans, but never officially joins the team.
Blah. Blah. Blah. Like four seasons of missions. The end.
