"I HAVE TO be honest with you, being in a coma for that long may have damaged some of your functions. As of now, the most evident concern that we have is that you can't really feel your legs that much and you can't walk. We can't fully say that you're paralyzed because you have sensations." Paliwanag sa kanila ng doktor. "We need to do more tests and continue with therapy. We're not closing any doors since you do feel something on your legs. Above all that, we're just grateful that your brain activity seems normal, nothing in the respiratory, good results in cardio. Let's take it one day at a time, alright?"

It has been well over two weeks since she woke up. Noong una siyang magising, she thought nothing much of the situation, nakita niya lang na okay si Kairos and that was probably what mattered the most at that time. Then reality sinked in, she was physically damaged by that accident. There's this looming fear na hindi na siya makakalakad.

Everything fell onto her in one sweeping blow. She's grateful na nailigtas niya si Kairos but she's given him a new burden, herself. Ayaw niyang ganito siya. Ayaw niyang maging pabigat kahit na kanino.

And then she finds out who was behind all of this, her sister. She can't exactly say na hindi niya ito inaasahan but she never thought that when she wished for her death, Aurora meant it. Kairos is furious, so is Meg and Alpha. She wanted to feel hatred too pero hindi niya magawa. What she has now is just self-pity.

"Meg," tawag niya sa kaibigan.

"Hmm?" Inaayos nito ngayon ang kakainin niya, she still has to stay for at least two more weeks bago siya hayaang umalis ng mga doctors niya and even then ay babalik-balik pa din siya para sa check ups and therapy.

"Sorry." Mikee mumbled.

"Ha? Bakit?"

"Sorry for taking up your time. Alam kong napapagod din naman kayo sa pag-aalaga sa akin." She was actually ashamed for causing this much inconvenience upon them. Kahapon ay ang nanay naman ni Kairos ang nandito then at the end of everyday ay nandito si Kairos, he never misses a day. "Delta had to postpone a meeting dahil sinamahan niya ako nung isang araw, Kairos is here everyday, everyone is tired because of me."

"Mikee, that's not true. Hindi kami mapapagod at all sa pag-aalaga sayo. We wanted to do that. We love you kaya we're doing this. This is out of love, no compulsion." Ngumiti si Meg sa kanya. It was genuine and she knows that she meant it pero nakukunsensya pa din siya.

"Thank you," she tried to smile.

"Thank you pero you have guilt written all over your face. We're family Mikee, this is how a family works." Meg wanted her to understand. "Bakit kung ako ba ang nandyan sa kalagayan mo hindi mo gagawin ang ginagawa namin? Will you get tired or find it exhausting?"

"No, of course not." Umiling siya. She gets the analogy but somehow her imagination isn't working in her favor.

"See? That's how a family works." Ngumiti ito sa kanya. "Stop thinking about those things. Mag-focus tayo sa recovery mo. Okay? Kumain ka na so that you can drink your meds at may therapy session ka pa mamaya."

She did start eating, alam niyang mapapagod nanaman siya sa therapy na yun mamaya. It takes all of her to even try to stand up. It will take all of her to get better.

It's just that one day, noong wala pa siyang kasama sa hospital ay dumating ang tatay niya doon. She wanted to assume na para bisitahin siya pero it was nothing about her condition. It was about Aurora.
