I was woken up by my mother.
Mother - Good morning sweetie. Ready for school?
Laura - Yeah, I guess.
Mother - Also they caught the Blackhood. It's Mr. Cooper.
Laura - Wow, That's. I didn't expect that.
Mother - Me too... So if you see Betty please don't talk about it.
Laura - Definitely. Um I have stuff to do so quick breakfast?
Mother - Sure, I'll see you at school.
I smile and mother continues cooking breakfast.
Jughead - Why does your mother wake up so early?
Laura - She goes on an early run and visits people, I know but can't talk about it. Then she goes to the shops when they first open for the freshest food. Then wakes me up for breakfast then we go to school together, but today I need to see someone.
With that I get dressed into short shorts, crop top, converse and some accessories.
Mother - You're not wearing that..
Laura - Yes I am.
Mother - It's school dress code.
Laura - You're the new principal, change the rules.
Mother - Boys will get distracted.
Laura - Ok so why should girls cover up completely, on a hot day, because boys get too horny and can't control it.
Mother - You're basically asking for it if you wear it.
Laura - I'm sorry, what?...
Mother - I'm just saying, you can't wear that and expect boys not to look while they are learning.
Laura - So you'd protect boys "ability to learn" and not my comfort? Instead of telling me what to wear, teach boys to be respectful and not objectify women by staring at them.
Mother - I...
Laura - Shut up, I'm wearing this. End of discussion.
I grab an apple and walk down the road to meet up with Jason.
Laura - You actually came here to walk with me..
Jason - Yeah. You make me go crazy, in a good way.
I smile and we start walking. He brushes his hand by mine. I hold it, he's shocked, but he doesn't mind it.
Jason - You look amazing in that outfit.
Laura - Thank you... Don't get too distracted.
He scoffs and I laugh. We talk and get to know each other better. We get to school and split immediately when the footballers see Jason. I know where I stand. I start walking inside.
Jason - Laura wait.
Laura - Yes Jason.
Jason - Do you want to sit with us at lunch?
Laura - I wish I could, but my friend is going through a lot. I need to be there for her.
Jason - I get that. Wanna go to Pop's after school?
Laura - Sure, I can do that.
Jason - Until then see you around.
Laura - See ya.
