It was a new day.
Our cuties were sleeping peacefully.
Sun shone only to wake avni.
She got up rubbing her eyes to look at Neil.
She felt weird as he was looking tired his face showed signs of restlessness.
Avni was confused.
She decided to talk to him later.
After some time at breakfast table.
Avni greeted all.
She was about to sit next to Neil as it was her seat, when myra came and sat there.
Myra: mujhe to bohut bhook lagi hai let's start. (Smiles)
Neil too smiled without saying anything. Avni was visibly hurt.
Shweta: myra beta woh avni ki seat hai... Tum dusri jagah baith jao...
Myra was about to say when Neil said.
Neil: mom it's fine na isme kya badi baat hai?
Avni gets sad
Avni: it's okay mummy ji main yaha baith jati hoon.
She sat on the chair opposite to Neil and silently started with her breakfast.
Myra smirks.
Neil felt weird in avni's behavior but he shrugged off.
Bebe and shweta were disturbed by myra's behavior.
All were having breakfast when Myra suddenly said.
Myra: Neil tum aaj mere saath ghoomne chaloge like maine kitne time se mumbai dekha nahi hai I mean agar tum free ho to....
Neil: haan kyu nahi Myra... Avni tum bhi...
Avni's phone rang. It was from Abhi.
Avni: excuse me...
She got up from the table and go to receive the call.
Avni: nahi main aaungi haan... Bye...
She hung up and went to the family.
Avni: woh bebe actually mujhe abhi nikalna hoga woh ek urgent meeting aa gyi hai.
Neil: main tumhe drop kar deta hoon.
Avni: koi zarurat nahi Neil I mean.... Abhi mujhe pick karne aa raha hai... Main usi ke saath chali jaungi... (Smiles) aur waise bhi tum busy ho to main kaise tumhe disturb kar sakti hoon.... (She looks away) main nikalti hoon bye...
She went away Neil was hurt by her remark how could she say so.
He had his breakfast and left.
Shweta and Bebe were sitting in the Hall.
Bebe: shweta aaj subah jo hua woh sahi nahi tha...
Shweta: you are rights Bebe Neil ko aise Myra ki tarafdaari nahi karni chahiye thi.
Bebe: wahi to pata hai avni kitna hurt thi...
Myra who was standing at a corner of the Hall smirked.
Myra: (to herself) poor aunty ji and Bebe yeh to bas shuruaat hai... Dining hall mein seat lena to zindagi mein aane ki pehli nishani hoti hai. Woh to maine kar diya ab aage aage dekho main kya kya karti hoon (smirks)
Avni's office.
A meeting was going on.
Boss: AVNI!!
she came out of her trance.
Avni: sir aapne kuch kaha?
Boss: where are you lost avni main kabse tumhe bula raha hoon.
Avni: sir I'm sorry woh main koi design ke baare mein soch rahi thi...
Boss: come on avni... It's okay lekin make sure ki sab tyari teen din mein ho jaaye yeh fashion show humare liye ek completely new exposure hoga
All: (nods) yes sir.
Boss: meeting over sab apne apne kaam pe lago.
All went away.
Avni to came to her cabin.
Abhi: avni sab theek haina...
Avni: haan abhi sab theek hai kyu kya hua?
Abhi: dekho avni tum agar theek hoti to aise conference Hall mein gayab na hoti chalo ab bolo kya hua hai?
Avni: abhi kuch bhi to nahi main bas kuch soch rahi thi tum jao na humare paas zyada waqt nahi hai...
Abhi: (sighs) accha fine lekin agar koi aisi baat hai to mujhe bata dena please.
Avni: haan baba ab tum jao.
Abhi leaves.
Avni sat on the chair. She was constantly thinking about the morning incident.
Avni: (to herself) yeh Neil ka bartaav itna badal kyu gya hai kal subah tak to theek tha aur phir raat ko achanak se kharab ho jaata hai... Office ka stress... Nahi nahi woh kabhi office stress ko ghar nahi le ke aata phir kya ho sakta hai.... (Thinking) (she sighs) I think mujhe Neil se baat karni hogi haa tahi theek rahega main aaj raat hi Neil se baat karungi.
She went back to her work.
Neil on the other hand was busy with some case and didn't thought about avni. He refused Myra to go out with her.
Later that day, avni came home. She was eagerly waiting for Neil to come home but he texted her that he would be late.
She sighed and went down stairs and set the dining table.
All sat to have dinner. Myra too was there only.
Avni served all and stood there only.
Bebe: avni puttar Tu bhi aaja baith dinner ke liye...
Avni: nahi Bebe woh Neil ko thoda late ho jaayega aane mein main bhi Neil ke sath hi dinner kar lungi aap log please continue karo...
They agreed.
After dinner all retired to respective rooms avni sat in the Hall waiting for Neil. She was impatiently looking at the wall clock again and again.
Avni: abhi tak Neil aaya kyu nahi phone karti hoon.
She took her phone and dialled his number but the phone was switched off.
Avni: phone switched off (sighs) ab kya karu?
Myra came to the Hall and saw her sitting and waiting for Neil. She went to her.
Myra: hey avni!
Avni was shocked to see her still awake.
Avni: tum abhi tak soyi nahi?
Myra: Neil ko dekhe bina kaise so jau? (Smirks)
Avni: (frowns) matlab?
Myra: oh avni tum bhi na main mazak kar rahi hoon... Actually mujhe neend nahi aa rahi thi to maine socha ki thodi der garden mein walk kar loon phir maine tumhe yaha dekha to socha why not tumhe hi company dedu?
Avni: (pressing a tight smile) so sweet of you...
She again sat down and waited for Neil.
Myra: (starting) so...
Avni: so?
Myra: tum dono kaise mile? I mean tum aur Neil... Love marriage thi yaa arranged?
Avni: (taking deep breath) arranged... Koi issue?
Myra: come on avni maine to bas aise hi pucha... Woh kya hai na college mein to Neil hamesha se love marriage karwana chahta tha aur pata hai usse to ek aisi ladki chahiye thi jo usse bachpan se jaanti ho...
Avni: to mujhe yeh sab bata ke kuch sabit karna chahti ho?
Myra: of course not dear maine to bas aise hi baat kar li you know time pass karne ke liye... (Smirks)
Avni just rolled her eyes. She was not getting good vibes of this Myra but she don't wanted tk sound rude as she was her husband's friend.
Myra: waise tum Neil ko kitna jaanti ho? I mean uska favorite khana...
Avni: indian obviously...
Myra: indian mein konsa cuisine?
Avni: north indian of course...
Myra: galat jawaab... (Avni frowns) Neil ko South Indian zyada pasand hai aur pata hai hum dono college mein midnight sneak out karke khane jaya karte the... Such fond memories they are (she said dreamily)
Now avni was feeling uneasy. My continues.
Myra: pata hai avni Neil ko midnight drives kitni pasand hai... Kabhi tumhe le ke gya hai kya? (Avni looked at her) oh waise arranged marriage mein to aisa hi hoga na... Matlab love ki to baat ho kuch aur hoti hai. Arranged mein to pariwar ko khush karte raho...
Avni's eyes now had some unshed tears. She sighs.
Avni: mujhe abhi koi baat nahi karni hai please... (Looked away)
Myra smirked noticing her changing reactions.
Myra: (taking empty jug in hand) avni... If you don't mind.. Can you please get me water... Woh actually Mujhe yaha ki aadat nahi hai aur andhera bhi hai so....
Avni nodded and silently took the jug and went to kitchen.
While she was returning she heard the doorbell ring.
Before she could walk upto the door Myra quickly opened it and hugged Neil.
Neil too smiled and reciprocated.
Avni stood frozen at a distance.
Her feet refused to move tears were ready to stream down but she wanted to control.
She looked on.
Myra: Neil tumhe pata hai i was worried for you.. Phone nahi utha rahe the message nahi... Kaha the itna late.
Neil: offo Myra woh bas ek urgent case pe kaam karte karte pata hi nahi chala time ka..
He looks at her.
Myra: accha baba maanli tumhari baat ab chalo jaldi main dinner laga deti hoon.
Neil nods and moved towards the dining table.
He saw Myra setting two plates.
Neil: Myra... Do plates...? Aur bhi kisi ne nahi khaya kya?
Myra: of course Neil maine... I was waiting for you to soch saath mein hi kha lete hai aur waise bhi agar aaj hum ghoomne jaate to bhi humein saath hi to dinner karna tha haina? (She continue serving)
Neil: (looking around) avni kaha hai? I mean agar main kabhi late hota hoon to avni hi mera wait karti hai par aaj..?
Myra: come on Neil avni to sabse pehle dinner karke sone bhi chali gyi (Neil frowns) I mean ab waqt to dekho Neil 12 bajne wale hai bechari subah se jaldi uthi thi to naturally neend to aani hi hai na isiliye so gyi...
Neil gave a smile.
Neil: (to himself) iska matlab ab avni ko mujhse koi farak nahi padta... Main late aaya ghar pe mujhe na koi phone na message....
Myra: Neil kaha kho gye... Khao na...
Neil nods.
Both had their dinner.
But what about avni?
She was feeling sad as her own husband didn't even felt like asking for her.
She silently walked up to her room and sat on the couch waiting for him to come so that they clear the air about what ever is happening but there is no sign of Neil coming.
She didn't even realised when sleep took over her.
She slept on the couch itself in uncomfortable posture.
Her face visibly shows all the disappointment she faced today....
May be this is just the start of the misunderstanding.
Lights shone in the morning.
The sun was peeping in.
Avni woke up with a sharp pain in her neck which was due to the uncomfortable position she slept in.
She looked around only to find that the bed is still neatly arranged as if no one ever came on it.
She frowns.
Avni: Neil raat bhar room mein nahi aaya kya? (Confused)
she recalled him having dinner with Myra.
Tears began to collect.
She takes a deep breath.
Avni: (to herself) it's okay avni... Neil aur Myra dost hai agar dinner kar bhi liya to kya hua?
She went to washroom getting freshened up.
She puts some makeup and then finally sindoor and mangalsutra.
She moved down stairs only to find her family waiting for her in the dining table.
Only two people were missing Neil and Myra...
Avni: good morning! (smiled)
All: good morning puttar...
Bebe: puttar tillu kaha hai?
Avni: Bebe.. Woh...
(she was at a loss of words she didn't knew where Neil was....)
Bebe: accha samajh gayi.. Police station chala gaya na... Yeh ladka bhi na kabhi nahi sudhar sakta.... Chal puttar Tu baith jaa naashta karle... (Smiles)
Avni nodded and smiled meekly.
Shweta suddenly came up...
Shweta: bebe main na us maharani ko utha ke laati hoon jab is ghar mein sab ek saath naashta karte hai phir bhi usko special invite chahiye.
Bebe: (nods) haan theek hai chalo..
Shweta left the table and goes towards the guest room.
She saw that the door is open a bit and the sight inside shocked her to the core.
she just stood frozen.
