Did I say this was gonna end bad? Then I'm a fucking psychic. I had to deal perachel PDA for about 15 minutes before Luke came. He gave me a hug and sat next to me and said "sorry I was late. my mom gave me a last minute errad to run"
I furrowed my eyebrows didn't he say that practice ran late and that was why he was late. Was he lying? I shook that thought away there must of been miscommunication. Not a big deal.
"I thought practice ran late?" Percy asked the question that was bugging me.
He pulled the chair closer to him and said "practice ran later and my mom had an errand for me to run. You can check my trunk, hopefully the eggs didn't break otherwise I'd have to actually clean my car"
He laughed but none of us laughed with him.
I squirmed in my seat. I'm up for a long and awkward evening.

Percy nudged Rachel and she said "so, Luke" and he looked up from his phone.
I almost sighed out loud. Percy somehow forced Rachel to break the silence between Luke and herself. Percy and I have been trying to keep up with the small talks in hopes that it would prod them to talk but so far no avail.
Percy encouraged her to continue.
"Did you really have to bring us to such a......rich restaurant?"
Percy turned to face Rachel so fast that if he had a ponytail it would knock out the person sitting next to him. Thankfully he doesn't otherwise Rachel would have been unconscious though I wish she was right now.
I threw my hands up in desperation. Really this is the thing that finally made her talk to Luke.
Percy gave Rachel a 'are you fucking me' look but she just gave him a taunting smile back and looked Luke right in the eye.
I could see that Luke was about to retort so I tried to hold him back but he just brushed me off and faced Rachel and started to speak.
At this moment Percy and I were wearing the same 'fuck my life' expression

"I thought you were used to these kind of places because your sooo rich" Luke spat.
"That doesn't mean I love them. I find it stupid that people go to a five star restaurant and eat something ordinary as a hamburger for thrice the price. Its a waste of money"
"ah right the rich people syndrome. They think five star food is boring as they are used to it. But for us poor people this is something new and extravagant. I feel sorry for you really, being forced to eat delicious, clean and hygienic food"
And got up. "Excuse me. I need to use the washroom"
The mood instantly became less tense.
Rachel turned to face Percy and it looked like they were having a mental conversion.
Rachel made a face that said 'I'm gonna kill him'
Percy shook his head and his face said 'No don't do it'
Rachel gave an exasperated expression that said 'why not? You hate him as well???'
Percy sight and It obviously showed displeasure. 'Just because you can doesn't mean you should'
Rachel gave a defient look 'that doesn't stop me'
Percy said "I give up! Do whatever you want but don't come to me when you want to hide the body"
Rachel smiled. "No problem. Nico has a body bag and piper gave me good idea for a good hiding spot"
I smiled. Sometimes I wish Luke and I were like that- easygoing and carefree.
I said "what have I told you? No talking about murder on the dinner table!"
"Yes mother"
And we burst out laughing. I could defend Luke but that requires more energy than I can muster and I came here for a double date and not a freaking presidential debate (which I will someday actually participate in )!

Luke came back from the washroom and the atmosphere became tense again. We started to do our individual activities again. I was absent-mindedly checking out the architecture when I received a ping.
I opened my messages and saw that Percy had sent me a text. When I looked up from my phone and saw that he was staring he gestured me to read the text.
Percy
you sure your boyfriend is human and not a dementor?
I gave the grinning idiot a 'are you kidding me' look and responded.
Annabeth
Wow, someone knows their Harry potter.

Percy
You know you are literally the only person who uses phrases like color me impressed.

Annabeth
Yes, normal people with atleast a mediocre vocabulary do.
Percy
I have a pretty extensive vocabulary if I do say so myself.

Percy

Either you talk or I rope you both into a conversation

I can honestly tell you Charlie is a smart guy.

I looked up from my phone and heard Percy mumble something like "Great how did I get caught on a double date with a manipulating couple"
I rolled my eyes. he is definitely a drama queen.
He picked up a glass of water and drank it at a snail pace and after he finished he went to pour him another glass. I kicked him in the shins and after that he was much more amiable.

"How did the selection go?" Percy asked.
Not bad he is actually trying.
"it went well. I am the fencing team captain again. What about you, I heard a rumor that you are the swim team captain and how about your friends" Luke replied
"That is true. Jason and Leo made the basket ball team actually"
"I still can't believe they Are single!" Rachel said
Percy chuckled. "I'm not surprised Leo is single but im sure Jason won't be single for long so throw your hat in ladies if you're interested"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
He smugly said "once drew gets over me" he flexed his biceps and Rachel and I rolled our eyes while Luke went back to scanning the menu. "She'll go after him"
piper is gonna be super happy after she hears this!

Now Luke's turn. I nudged him to continue the conversation.
"Say Percy, I'm having trouble choosing between filet mignon and thai steamed fish which one would you recommend?"
"I don't eat fish"
"Ah"
"But I can tell you a fish joke"
"Please dont" Rachel begged.
Percy turned to me. "What did the sharks say when it ate a clown fish......it said-"
I gulped said "it tastes funny"
"Come on bro don't steal my punchline" he pouted.
I asked him "where did you hear it?"
He said "my online friend told me"
He is a swimmer, has gone to camp halfblood, is a son of poseidon, is new to San Francisco and plays heroes!!!!
