[Avie's POV]
Its been months since Tony and I came back from our honeymoon. Since then, we've been pretty busy with work and the kids and bills.
Right now we were just at home, me cleaning up while Tony watched Beverly and Blake in their play pen when my phone rang.
I look and saw it was Mike?
"Hey Mike, what's up?" I asked as I handed a pacifier to Tony.
"Avie!! Look, you have to get to the hospital fast!!" He exclaimed in panic.
I frowned in confusion.
"Why, what happened?" I asked.
"I-Its Macy, she went into labor!!" He said.
"But her due date is any day now, she's already nine months along, why are you panicking?" I asked in confusion.
"Something happened, I don't know!! She's in C-Section right now!!" He exclaimed.
My eyes widen in horror.
"We're on our way right now," I said and hung up. "Tony, get the baby bag."
"What happened?" He asked.
"Macy's in C-Section," I said.
"Oh shit," he said and took off to get the bag while I quickly got the kids in their carriers.
Soon we were off.
***
We ran into the ER waiting room and I spotted Matt, Dawn, Becky, Mike, and Macy's and Tyson.
"Hey," I said as we ran up, me holding Beverly's carrier.
"How is she?" Tony asked.
"We don't know. All we know is the baby is feet first but they found out during delivery," Ms. Hale said."She was losing a lot of blood."
"Where's Vic?" I asked.
"With Macy," Matt said.
"The doctor said we have to wait for any news," Dawn said.
I nodded and set Beverly's carrier down next to Becky.
"You know, Avery, and ER waiting room is no place for babies like Bevie and Blake," Tyson said.
"I sigh. " I know, but we came in a hurry."
"How about you call Tony's mom to watch them while you guys stay here?" Ms. Hale said.
"Good idea. I'll give her a call," Tony said, taking his phone out and walking to an area where he can talk.
Just then Vic walked in.
"Vic!" Matt said as we all crowded around.
He had tear stains on his cheeks and his eyes were puffy.
"Vic, how is she?" Dawn asked.
"T-They won't tell me. She lost so much blood, and they have the baby in observation," he said in a shakey voice.
"Oh my god," Ms. Baker said in a small sob, Tyson comforting her.
Then a doctor came up.
"Family of Maceline Fuentes," he caled.
We all walked up.
"Who's the father of the child?" He asked.
"Me. How's my son and wife?" Vic asked.
"Your son will be in observation, and your wife is stable at the moment. She lost a heavy amount of blood, but she will be alright," he said.
"Is there any chance we can see her or the child?" Mike asked.
"Yes, you can see Mrs. Fuentes and then the baby, but I can only allow 3 at a time," the doctor said.
"Avie, can you come with me?" Vic asked. "She is your best friend after all."
"Of course," I said, then turn to Tony. "Can you watch the kids until your mom gets here, baby?"
"Yeah, yeah, of course," he said as he kissed me.
"I'll go, too," Matt said.
We followed the doctor and enter a room.
There on the bed laid Macy, looking pale and exhausted, her hair sliglty matted as she slept, connected to a heart monitor and some tubes, one giving her a blood transfusion.
Vic walked up quickly and held her hand.
Her eyebrows then scrunched up and she murmured in her sleep and her eyes opened tiredly.
"V-Vic...." She mumbled.
"Hey, hey, its okay, I'm here," he said, holding her cheek. "How do you feel?"
"Tired," she said softly.
"We gave her some medication for the pain, but she should be fine after a few days of rest," the doctor said.
"W-Where's my son?" She murmured. "Where's... Where's Vince?"
"The baby will be in observation for a while, until we get any results on whether any complications affected him," he said.
"P-Please tell me he won't die," Macy mumbled as I held her other hand, tears starting to form in her eyes.
"No, he won't die, Mrs. Fuentes. We're just going to make sure he hasn't suffered anything serious," he said.
She nodded worryingly as the doctor then left.
Macy then turned to me, a single tear falling down. "Avie."
"Hey," I smiled. "Its going to be okay."
"Can you please go see your godson for me?" She asked.
My eyes widen. "G-Godson?"
"I want you and Tony to be Vince's godparents," she smiled tiredly.
I smiled and nodded. "Tony and I would love to be his godparents," I said.
She smiled weakly.
"I'll go check on him, okay?" I said.
She nodded as I got up, Matt saying he'll go with me.
We were lead to nursery and walk up to a nurse.
"May I help you?" She asked.
"By any chance is the son or Maceline and Victor Fuentes here?" Matt asked.
"Are you relatives?" She asked.
"Unlce and godmother," Matt said.
"At the window, Incubator 6," she said.
We looked and I smiled.
He was tiny, but still fidgeted as he cooed. His name plate read:
Name: Vincent Aaron Fuentes Bates
Height: 16 in
Weight: 7 lbs
Mother: Maceline Genna Fuentes
Father: Victor Vincent Fuentes
His eyes had opened and he looked at us curiously.
"Awww, he's precious," I smiled.
"He has Macy's eyes, but the rest is definitely Vic," Matt said.
"Darn shame," a voice said and we look to see it was Mike and Matt and I couldn't help but laugh.
"I know Macy taught of his middle name in his honor," Matt smiled sadly.
"God, I miss Aaron," I sighed.
"Who's Aaron?" Mike asked.
"Old friend from our Sophomore year. He died in a motorcycle accident one night," I sighed sadly. "He even knew about what my fosters did, and tried everything to help, but like always they were slick. But he still managed to always put a smile on my face when someone needed to smile," I smiled.
"Oh, damn. I'm sorry," Mike said.
"Don't worry. He's in a better place," Matt said.
"Hope you get better soon, little guy. Mommy and Daddy want to be with you," I said.
We then left to see Macy and Vic again.
At least there's still some hope.
