EVIE POV
I stood next to Carlos, Jay, and Scorch waiting for Mal and Ben to arrive. I turned around to see Mal and Ben hand in hand. "There they are." I said as Ben and Mal waved to the crowd. Mal stood before me with a smile. "Hi." I whispered as Mal and Ben ascended the steps to where Beast and Belle stood as the crowd applauded and cheered. "Lady Mal and I wanna thank you for celebrating our engagement with us today. I couldn't be prouder or happier to call you my Queen. So...raises your glasses. To our future Queen of Auradon!" Ben announced. "To our Queen of Auradon!" The rest of us yelled. "Speech, Your Special-ness." Carlos said to Mal. "Speech, Your Fancy One." Jay added before the audience laughed. I looked around and searched for Haden. I found Audrey but no Haden. Mal looked at us silently. "I can't." Mal said. I looked at Jay and Carlos. "I can't be Queen of Auradon." Mal announced. "We made a decision...to close the barrier forever. And it was my idea." Mal explained. "What is she talking about?" Scorch asked me. "I promise you. You'll understand soon." I said putting a hand on his shoulder. Scorch huffed, clearly agitated, turning to look at Mal. "But it's wrong. I've learned that you can't live in fear...because it doesn't actually protect you from anything. You never know where the bad is gonna come from. And you never know where the heroes are gonna come from either. Without Uma or her pirates, Auradon would be gone." Mal continued. "And without Hades...my father..." Mal started again. The crowd gasped at the new information. "...Audrey would be gone and so would Haden." Mal finished looking down at Audrey. Mal made a eye contact with me. 'Where is Haden?' I mouthed to her. "We are all capable of good and bad, no matter which side of the barrier we come from. And that's why I can't be Queen of just Auradon." Mal said. "She's right, Ben. She needs to be the Queen of both Auradon and the Isle." A voice announced from the back of the crowd. Everyone turned around to see Haden in a pitch black tuxedo leaning against the barrier his arms crossed his chest with Chester beside him. A smile grew on my face at the sight of him on his feet. His long hair was pulled out of his face and looked like a lion's mane of hair that could compete with Prince Charming's head of hair. It was curly, floofy, and made him look older. He wore his crown on his head he walked passed me placing his hand on my arm with a warm smile. "I believe that the Isle has been through isolation for quite a long time now. And there are so many kids on the island that would love it here. But I know that if we destroy that bridge forever. Those kids will be crushed. The kids here will never get to see their parents again. And neither will I. I think we owe it to those kids to do what's right." Haden proposed. A smile grew on my face as I watched him act a king. "And if we Mal can't be the Queen of Auradon and of Isle...then...I want to go back." Haden said. There were gasps from within the crowd. Mal looked at her brother and smiled. I saw him wink at her with a smirk. "Haden's right. It's time we take the barrier down forever." Mal said to Ben. "We can't do that." Beast stated. "It's up to to us, Dad. Haden's right. If the son of the worst villain in history can become a hero of Auradon. Who else are we denying into Auradon?" Ben said to his father. I smiled widely. "I choose to be a King who moves forward. It's time for forgiveness. It's time for new beginnings. The barrier will come down!" Ben announced. "YES!" Haden shouted laughing losing his royal mannerisms throwing his hands into the air. "WHOO-HOO-HOO!" Carlos exclaimed as he to Haden and jumped. Haden caught him and embraced before setting him down and they both regained their composure. "Sorry about that." Haden said pushing his hair back out of his face as the crowd laughed at his reaction. Mal looked down and motioned for us to come up. Haden took my hand as we headed up the stairs to be with Mal and Ben. Fairy Godmother gave Mal her wand. I stood next to Mal as it got quiet. Chester faced the barrier and wagged his tail before shaking his butt in the air excited. I covered my mouth to hold in the laughter. "Ches...Chester. Chester!" Haden called out. Chester's three heads looked at him with tongues hanging out of their mouths with the appearance of goofy smiles on their faces. Chester faced the barrier again before jumping and running in a circle. "To make the world a better place...we have to do it face to face." The five of us recited before Mal aimed the wand at the barrier. Yellow energy flew out the wand and destroyed the barrier on the Isle. The bridge formed between the lands as I cried softly. Haden place his hands on my shoulders, holding me close. Chester barked howled at the bridge. They waited for a moment with their ears perked into the air. Three thunderous howls sounded from the Isle. Chester's tail went nuts before barking and taking off down the bridge. "Well...someone's happy to see somebody." Haden pointed out watching his dog speed down the bridge towards the Isle. "Apparently." I said with a smile.
HADEN POV

I stood next to Evie and smiled staring out at the bridge. People of the Isle crossed over into the bridge and I laughed before spinning Evie under my arms. I pulled her to me and smiled pressing my forehead to hers. "I have to say, Haden, the hair...really diggin' it." She said smiling wrapping her hands around my neck. "Yeah? You like my hair in general, don't you?" I asked raising a brow. "It's one of the many things that I love about you." She answered. I chuckled before looking passed Evie to see Scorch dancing with Uma. "Ooh. Looks like Uma might get something more than just a life in Auradon." I said. Evie turned her head and looked at the two dance. "Cute." Evie stated. "Haden! How does it feel to be the hero of Auradon again?" Jay asked me. "Pretty good. At least I'll have crazy stories to tell my future grandkids...you know...if I ever have kids anyways." I said. "Evie...I'm sorry about before. I'm sure you were just protecting me. Only Zeus knows what would have happened if I found out years ago." I said. "I should be the one apologizing, not you. I lied to you. I should have told you the truth. If I had told you the truth about--" Evie started before I pressed my lips to hers interrupting her. I pulled away. "The past is past, Eve." I told her. "Forgive, forget." Evie added with a blushed smile. "You're cute when you blush." I said. "Stop it." She told me playfully slapping my chest as I laughed. Uma joined our side with Scorch and Harry. "You know what? Mal came through." Uma said. "She always does." Evie voiced as the five of us watched Mal dance with kids from the Isle. "So, she's definitely taken." Harry stated pointing at Mal. "Definitely." Evie answered looking at him. "And so is Evie." I said looking at Harry. Evie chuckled at my protectiveness. Uma jabbed Harry in the arm with her elbow. "Ow!" Harry exclaimed looking at her. "What's my name?" She asked him. "Uma." Harry answered before leaning in to kiss her. Uma ducked and shoved him out of the way before pulled Scorch away to dance somewhere else. Scorch looked back at me before silently celebrating behind Uma. I gave him a celebratory thumbs up shaking my head with a smile. Evie dragged me to go celebrate with the others. I spotted Hades walking down the middle of the bridge followed by the giant Cerberus and a happy Chester, who was running between their dad's legs. "Now that I think about it...Chester...is just a very very large three-headed puppy." Evie pointed out. I looked at her before looking at the smaller hellhound jump around their father. Cerberus watched Chester with great interest before playing with them. "I'm starting to see where Chester gets his personality." I said squinting his eyes.
"Am I invited to the wedding?" Hades asked Mal and Ben. Ben jumped looking at Hades. "Hi, Dad. Um...uh." Ben stated. I snickered covering my mouth as I held Evie close to me. Mal ran to Hades and threw her arms around him giving him a hug. He returned it. Hades looked at Ben. "I'm sure you two will be very happy together." Hades told Ben with a smile before Mal gave Ben a hug. Once Mal's back was turned to him, his smile turned to a glare before silently telling Ben, 'I'm watching you.' Mal looked at Hades before grabbing his hand and they walked into Auradon. "Welcome to Auradon." Ben announced to Hades slapping him on the back. Hades stopped walking and glared at Ben again before shaking his head. Hades let go of Mal's hand before walking over to me and Evie. "So...is this my future daughter-in-law to be?" Hades asked me looking at Evie. My eyes widened as my face turned the same shade as Evie's lipstick. "Uh...we...um. We haven't really talked...about...that." I stammered surprised by the question scratching the back of my head as Evie and Dad smirked at me. "And why not?" Evie asked me. I blinked a couple of times. "What? Oh! Um. You know, we've...been..busy." I said slowly trying to come up with an answer. "Smooth." Jay said walking behind me. I watched him leave before turning back to Evie and Hades who had their arms crossed. "Hey! What's that? Is that Pegasus?!" I asked pointing into the sky behind them. Evie and Hades looked at one another before sighing. They turned around and looked into the sky. "Where?" Hades asked unenthusiastically. They turned back around and looked at me. "Isn't this the part where you run away?" Hades asked with a raised brow. "Uhhhh....Yeah." I said nodding my head. I sighed. "Look...if you think I don't want to...you know.." I started looking at Evie. "Marry me?" She finished. "Yeah. You're wrong. Because I want nothing more in this world than to marry you, Evie. But I just thought the timing was all wrong. Ben proposed to Mal and they're getting married. I didn't feel like I was taking the importance away from their engagement. Ben marrying Mal is a big deal. I didn't want to ruin it. Also...because...you know...I was afraid." I explained. Evie smirked. "Whenever you do...you know my answer." Evie said before kissing me on the cheek and walking away to Mal, Ben, Jay, and Carlos. I watched her leave before looking up at Dad.
"You know I love you, right?" Hades asked me. "I know. Tough love and all." I said looking down at the ground. "So...hear me when I tell you. I want my godhood back." He said deadpan. "What?" I asked. He smirked. "I'm joking. Lighten up, kid. You'll make a great God of the Underworld. Especially since you don't plan on plotting revenge against anyone anytime soon." Dad said laughing. I laughed nervously. "Wait. Dad. About the Underworld...I've been meaning to ask you. Can humans come visit if they wanted to?" I asked him. He looked up and stared off into space, pushing his lower lip out and shrugged. "Yeah. I suppose, why?" He asked. "Because...I've been thinking about...changing some things. I mean...don't get me wrong, I love the Underworld...but don't you think it's a bit--" I said. "Gloomy." We said in unison. "Yeah. I've thought that for years. But it's not my kingdom to rule anymore. It's yours. And you do what you think is best for the kingdom. If you want humans to be able to visit our realm whenever they want. You do that. If you think that you should change the mood of the realm you can do that too. Because from now on...I'm just your dad...and not your master." Hades said. "But...I have one condition..." He added. "Sure...what is it?" I asked. "You give Cerberus a place to stay. Because it was very hard to keep him on the Isle. You'd be surprised how hard it is to care for a 40 foot three-headed hellhound." Hades said. "Oh I know. Their heads are like black holes for food. They're always hungry." I said looking at Chester. "You let Cerberus roam Auradon whenever he wants to but you have to make sure he does he guard job in the Underworld. Deal?" Hades asked.. "Deal." I said. "Get out of here." Hades said pushing me towards the others. "What's this I hear about you wanting to marry Evie, hmm?" Mal asked me smirking. "You told them?" I asked looking at Evie. "No more secrets between us." Evie pointed out. "Well...when are you going to ask her?" Mal asked. "It's a surprise." I said looking down at my sapphire ring on my left hand. "I personally think you should ask her now. It's the perfect time. It's a nice day. Two lands have been united. You made up with your dad. What's stopping you?" Jay said. "Yeah. Do it. Ask her. She already knows you will. Why make her wait?" Mal asked. "You guys really think I should do it now?" I asked them. "Yes." They all said in unison. "Right here?" I asked again. "Yes!" They shouted. "Now?" I questioned. "YES!" They exclaimed. I got down on my knee, a black silk box appeared in my right hand. "Evie Grimhilde, daughter of Evil Queen." I started looking at Evie as she smiled with tears in her eyes. I opened the small black box and to reveal a 18K yellow gold prong set engagement ring with a 20 carat diamond set in the center. "Dang!" Jay exclaimed in a whisper. "You've helped me through some tough times over the last couple of years. And it was recently brought to our attention that you and I, were destined for one another. And I know that sounds a bit cheesy and like a line from some movie. But I don't care. Because I'm not turning back now. Evie...would you...do me the honor of marrying me? And ruling by my side as Queen of the Underworld?" I asked her. That was harder than I thought it'd be. Ben made it looks so easy. Then again, He swooned Mal with a song. All I had was...well nothing...I had a big 'ol bag of nothing but a hell of a lot of courage...with about a million thoughts in my head on how badly this could turn out...even though she's probably going to say... "Yes." Evie answered. See? She smiled widely as I slipped the ring onto her ring finger. She pressed her red lips to my own. There was a loud cheer from the right of me. I pulled away from the kiss to see that everyone else had seen the abrupt proposal. Jay and Carlos pulled me away from Evie and celebrated. "How did you afford a ring like that? Aren't those rings like super expensive?" Carlos asked. "Yeah. But when God of the Underworld and God of Wealth & Riches. You have money to spare. How else do you think I got you guys those bikes?" I answered. "Wait. You bought us the bikes? I thought Ben did." Jay asked. "Nope. I did. Dad was rich as a god. And now so am I. Of course...I'll be using it to help the Isle now." I explained. "On a completely unrelated note, I lost my phone about a few weeks ago..." Jay started. "Jay." I stated. "All right. All right." He said laughing. I chuckled shaking my head. "Look at the size of this rock!" Evie squealed staring at the engagement ring as she was surrounded by Mal, Uma, Dizzy, Celia, Audrey, Belle, Jane, Fairy Godmother, and others. I smiled watching her. "She looks happy, Haden." Carlos said. "She makes me happy." I said before heading to the Mal and Ben's engagement party with my hands in my pockets. A couple of seconds later, I felt someone pounce on my back. I looked over my shoulder to see Evie's smiling face. I grabbed her legs and gave her a piggyback to the party. "How does Evie Deimos sound?" She asked. "I like it." I said. "Alright King Haden Nico di Angelo Thanatos Deimos." She said. I sighed at the mention of my full name. "I knew you weren't gonna drop that." I said. "It's amazing how you thought that I would." She said before pecking my cheek. "I love you, Haden." She said resting her chin on my shoulder. "Probably not as much as I adore you, Eve." I said with a smile.
