Complicated power.
Katalina's POV
I woke up and rubbed my face. Andre wasn't in bed so he must've went down to make us breakfast. I took my shower and got dressed and headed down to our kitchen and had breakfast with my mate.
Andre and I have our own home now, on the pack grounds. He wanted it to be exactly like my grandmother's one since she left it for me. It had been completed three weeks after our bonding ceremony.
I walked into the living room with Andre in tow, looking to relax a bit after stuffing our stomachs. As I was about to sit down, Nivea popped up in a puff of smoke.
I groaned inwardly. Training with Nivea has gotten harder as the weeks passed. Even though I'm able to conjure spells without speaking, she insisted on having me practice all the spells in my mind until they became 'a habit'.
That wasn't all either, she made me practice healing wolves in the pack clinic. Anytime a wolf was badly injured I was the first one to be called in. Even worse, she made me practice on using my magic as a weapon.
She makes me do spells while having a constant stream of magic flowing through my body. She also has me expelling my magic and using it as weaponry. At first it was difficult to do, but now I can allow the magic to flow through me unconsciously.
I'm also able to expel my magic in different elements like water, fire, earth, air, and light. I can still remember when she first told me about it and how I got it on my first attempt.
"You want me to what?" I said, losing focus for a second. It was noon and the young wolf laying on the bed in front of me began to scream. I felt how hurt he was through the pack bond.
"Stay focused Kat. All I want you to do is practice on having your magic flow through your body regularly. If you can do that you'll be able to use your magic as a weapon and not have to rely on spells as much."
I focused once more onto the young boy. I came to learn that his name was Frank and that he had stumbled on a rogue one night at a club. For some reason, the rogue didn't like him and so after Frank left the club, the rogue attacked him.
He managed to escape with his life, but he was severely injured. He was cut so deep he had lost a lot of blood. Along with the fact that his body wasn't regenerating at its normal pace.
I later found out that he had ingested wolfsbane. I tried heightening his immune system in hopes that it would rid his organs of the wolfsbane but it wasn't enough.
I moved on to sealing his wounds bit by bit from the inside coming to the outside. When I was finished, he finally seemed to not be in pain anymore and was calming down.
"Thank you," he said in a deep weak voice. I smiled in return and left the room with Nivea leading the way.
"That's the last patient for today so we have enough time to start."
"Start what exactly?"
"Were you even listening to me when I explained what you were going to be doing from now on? I guess not. Well what I was saying was that you're gonna let your magic flow throughout your body.
You're gonna feel it coursing and flowing through you. Then you're gonna let it flow to the strongest part of your body and release it into any form you'd like. Sounds like fun doesn't it?! Let's go!"
My mind was in a jumble of words. Words I didn't know how to form into sentences.
How is it possible to turn magic into a weapon? That's crazy witch talk. She then grabbed my hand and lead me out into the woods.
"This is where we'll come to train your magic from now on. What I want you to do is feel your magic. When you've felt it, call it out. Are you doing it?" I nodded in response.
"Good. Now feel it flowing throughout your entire body. If you can't do that then feel it shrouding your body rather than having it being held inside of it."
I wasn't able to feel it through me so I decided to let it come out instead. When I did, I opened my eyes and saw my entire body covered with a soft white light. It felt like a second skin, it was also warm and calming.
"Wow you're actually doing it!" I looked at her then squinted my eyes in a 'what do you mean' look.
"It took me months to actually feel my magic while you're doing it in just a day." I smiled at myself.
I'm glad I got to do this with her. She was always open and even if she was jealous, she would say so too. "What's next teach?"
She smiled and said "Okay, so think about the strongest part of you. Think about where you can expel that magic from." I reached out my hand and pointed it, palm outwards, towards the clearing between the trees.
"Good, now think about a way to expel that magic out. Maybe imagine pushing a rock, or throwing something away or pushing out bad vibes from your chakra."
I laughed. She must have known I was having a little trouble. I closed my eyes as she said, "You have to be calm too Kat. Remember it's your magic, you can take your time, no need to rush."
I nodded and felt the shroud of my magic become greater in my hand. I opened my eyes and saw fire shoot out of my hand in the shape of a circle. It wasn't big but it was beautiful.
Then a tree caught on fire and the trees surrounding it also began to cover in flames. The dark night lit up due to it. "Shit, I'm sorry Vea! Now the forest is gonna burn down! What are we gonna do?!"
"Calm your tits Kat, I knew something like this would happen. It's your magic Kat you can control the fire. Try doing it. Try controlling the magic you expelled from your body."
"Okay," I said. I looked towards the fire and tried feeling it being drawn back into me. When that didn't work I almost panicked but then I remembered that all I had to do was gain control.
I didn't have to pull it back, I just had to control it. The fire died down slowly and Vea then cast her spell and nurtured the trees back to life.
"Thanks, Vea, if it weren't for you being here, this whole forest would have been gone by now."
She laughed as she said, "I know Kat, now let's head home. I'm beat."
"Yeah let's do that."
"Oh, but one more thing before I go. I want you to always have that shroud of magic around you and every time you feel that you've controlled keeping your magic that way, I want you to make the shroud bigger, not too big to the point where it can't be controlled though. Okay?"
I nodded but then a few questions came to me. "What about everyone else? Can my magic hurt them? Why did my magic come out as fire and why do I have to keep the shroud all the time?"
"Good questions Kat. Don't worry about hurting others with your shroud. It doesn't harm you nor will it harm others unless you make it so that it does harm others. It's your magic and it does what you will it to do.
Only witches and warlocks are able to see the shroud. Everyone else can only see when you expel the magic from you. So you're safe to practice that all the time. The longer you can keep that shroud the greater it will become and the stronger your expelled magic will be too.
The other questions are going to e answered at a later date. I'm pooped and all I want to do is crawl into my luxurious bed."
I nodded and began practicing. For some reason the shroud felt thinner. My eyes must have been orange because Vea asked "What are you confused about?"
"The shroud isn't as big as it was before. Why is that?"
She smiled and giggled before saying, "You need to rest, and something else I didn't tell you, was that the more magic you expel, the thinner your shroud of magic around your body becomes. That's why I said you have to control the shroud.
The more you control it, the more control you'll have over the amount of power you expel. You already have a lot of magic, but if you can't control how many magic you expel, you won't be able to battle very long with it.
You'll be able to cast spells and what not but using magic like this does more harm to the opponent. Goodnight princess."She then left in her puff of smoke.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by Nivea calling my name and snapping her fingers in my face. "It's time to practice Kat, and I don't see that shroud of magic."
I guess she wanted to practice magic with me first.
"Oh, right! I kind of lost focus for a bit there." I then shrouded my body in my magic, just like I've been doing the past month.
"Wow, it's gotten bigger and I see you have an awesome control on it."
"Wow Kat, I never knew you could control your magic like that. That's so cool!" shrieked Cathy as she entered into the living room and stood next to Vea. "Can I join you gals?"
"Of course!" Vea and I said in unison.
As we headed up the stairs to the third floor we saw Luca and Steph walk into the living room too.
"Did you guys see the magic they were talking about?" asked Luca.
We then heard Steph and Andre say "nope" together.
We all laughed and as we entered the ballroom we began our training. "Can't Luca see magic like you van Cathy?" I asked, wondering why he couldn't see the magic.
"Not all of us warlocks can see the magic but we can feel it. We don't have the same father so I guess that had an effect on him."
I nodded as we entered the ballroom and began casting spells and sparred with Cathy.
Time passed quicker than normal so we headed back down and to the packhouse. I was tired from expelling my magic and I needed food before I could train with the guys. They followed us once they noticed that we were no longer in the house.
While we walked to the packhouse Andre came behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "I missed you Luna."
"I missed you too alpha," he growled and I giggled.
"Okay love birds, leave that stuff behind closed doors. The rest of us aren't open to live porn."
"She isn't speaking on my behalf," said Luca. We all burst into laughter and sat down to lunch.
After we had finished lunch we all sat down and watched a bit of television before I headed out with the boys into the backyard to train.
