New Zealand's POV:
"I-I'm New Zealand," I said nervously. I looked at the lego he was playing with.
"Do you want to help me build a castle?" Denmark asked. I nodded and sat down next to him. He did most of the building, I just found really cool lego pieces and handed them to him.
"So, why are you here?" He asked.
"My Mum is working," I answered.
"My big brother works here too! I don't usually come to work with him but he wasn't able to find a babysitter," He said. I nodded and handed him more bricks. I looked at Canada, he was watching the tv quietly and not doing much else. He looked bored.
"Nada! Do you want to play with us?" I asked. He didn't look at me he only shook his head and continued watching the tv. He seemed a little bit unsettled like something was bothering him. He was fiddling with his fingers so he was definitely nervous about something.
I continued helping Denmark build his castle when I heard the door open and I looked over to see who it was. I saw Germany standing in the door nervously. I waved and smiled at him. He started walking over to me and sat down next to me.
"Hello, Germany!" I was so happy to see someone familiar.
"Hello, New Zealand!" He said back. Germany picked up some of the lego blocks and began building something by himself. Germany and Denmark were so good at building things. I decided to give it try. I found some wheels and a couple of red bricks. I was going to make a car!
It didn't look anything like a car but it was the best thing I made. When I showed Denmark and Germany I looked at what they had made. Denmark had moved on from his castle and built a Viking boat. Germany made a tank. I looked down at my 'car'. I broke it apart.
Germany grabbed the pieces and started reassembling what I had broken. It looked like an actual car now. I was so happy and I played around with it for a while and even showed Canada. There was one place in that room where I raced that car. I even tried the roof. It fell and broke but Germany fixed it for me.
Denmark built a car for himself as well and we were racing them across the room, Germany did the same and we had racing competitions. Canada still seemed nervous. I invited him to play with us again, but again he said no. There was something going, but I didn't know what.
We lined up the lego cars onto of a stray plank we found. Denmark counted to 3 while German was getting ready to slant the board so the cars would race.
"3, 2, 1, GO!" Denmark shouted. The cars started racing down the board while I cheered my car on, hoping it would win. Germany's lego car won, but I came second and I was so happy.
"Haha! I came second!" I celebrated.
Canada's POV:
The nightmare I had last night continued to haunt me. It felt like someone held a knife to my throat. I couldn't turn around though. I was terrified. I saw New Zealand looking at something seeming very scared about something, I was holding his wrist tightly, I couldn't let go.
When I had woken up, Mom was gone. It didn't make me feel any better. I found a note on the table but it was too dark to read it. I found a torch and read the note. I sat in my room quietly and waited for her to return.
When she finally did, I waited for her to finish putting New Zealand to bed. I explained my nightmare and she seemed a little bit concerned. She sent me to bed, but I didn't fall asleep until much later.
I needed to distract myself because even in the morning I was scared if someone was behind me. Who was threatening me in my dream? When we got Mom's work and we went to that small room where all the adults throw their kids.
Every time I looked at Zea I felt a strange feeling. Something was wrong and not right. Even though Zea kept inviting me to play with him, I didn't want to join him because it felt wrong. I distracted myself with the tv until I felt hungry.
I opened the paper bag Mom packed with snacks and lunch. I grabbed an apple and ate it like what you would usually do with an apple. I looked over at New Zealand. He was having fun and enjoying himself. And for some stupid reason, I didn't want to interfere. I might hurt him if I did.
I should stop being so worried. It was only a dream. What is the worst that can happen?
I called for Zea anyway. He must be getting hungry too. I picked his lunch bag and I handed it to him. He smiled and just before he turned around to continue playing, he stopped. He turned around and looked me dead in the eye.
"Did you have a bad dream last night?" He asked. I was surprised. I looked around nervously.
"I, uh, I did, how did you know?".
"I didn't, I just thought you looked nervous, I get nervous when I have bad dreams," Zea said. I thought about last night. The note said something about taking him on a walk. I know Mom does that.
"You had a nightmare too," I said. Zea nodded, he seemed a little sad but he quickly brushed it off.
"Did you see anything? Did you see me?" I was curious and unsure. I kind of hoped he would say no but his face told another story. Zea's face turned pale and started shivering a little bit.
"N-no," He muttered. I decided not to push it much further being a nightmare and all that. Besides, the chances that the dreams correlated would be quite unlikely. So there was nothing to worry about, it was only a dream.
