JJ: "The latest victim is Tara Farris, 20. She's the third victim in 2 weeks. All found on freeway off-ramps by commuters." she says as she passes out files to all them
Hotch: "Well, he's not hiding them."
Rossi: "An LA freeway during morning rush hour? He wants them found."
Morgan: "Quickly."
Emily: "Well, they're still dressed. That minimizes the shock value."
Reid: "Maybe he's concerned for them. Think he wants them taken care of?"
JJ: "No signs of sexual assault on any of the victims."
Watson: "Look how pale she is."
JJ: "All of them were severely hypovolemic. Tara had less than a pint of blood in her."
Reid: "Look at this. The first 2 had more than 3 pints each. If exsanguination is the goal, the unsub is definitely becoming more proficient."
JJ: "This is new. Tara's the only victim to have a written message." she puts a photo on the screen for them to see
Hotch: "The liar."
Emily: "The" liar. That's strange, isn't it? Not a liar or just liar."
Morgan: "So what did you lie about, Tara?"
JJ: "All of the victims appear to have been strangled and then bled out through identical wounds in the throat."
Watson: "Wait-seriously, are those supposed to be fang marks?"
JJ: "All of the wounds on the victims were covered in saliva. Human saliva, as though-"
Reid: "Someone drank their blood."
Reid: "In the darkest pages of the malign supernatural, there is no more terrible tradition than that of the vampire. A pariah even among demons. Writer Montague Summers."
➰On The Plane
JJ: "Ok. Ok, thanks. So they've already set up a task force in Los Angeles."
Rossi: "This isn't their first serial case."
JJ: "You remember Detective Owen Kim?" she looks at everyone that was there for the previous case
Hotch: "From the stalker case."
Watson: "You remember that case, don't you, Spencer?" she asks sending him a teasing look
Reid: "I do remember that case." he nods his head awkwardly
Watson: "Yeah, you ever talk to, um, Lila anymore?"
Reid: "You know, I think we should probably focus on this case right now. It's a little more pertinent." he says making her give him an amused smirk and Morgan chuckles a little
Morgan: "All right, so tell us about blood-drinkers, Reid."
Reid: "Human blood consumption, or clinical vampirism, is known as Renfield's syndrome, named after the insect-eating character in Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula."
Emily: "Are they sadists?"
Reid: "Not necessarily. Pain to the victim is usually only a byproduct. Blood is the focus. Renfield's syndrome is usually accompanied by varying levels of schizophrenia and occasionally more classic cannibalism if the condition evolves."
Rossi: "Classic cannibalism. Lovely job we have."
Reid: "I will say this-true cases are exceedingly rare."
JJ: "Oh that's comforting. Sort of."
Garcia: "Renfield's may be rare, but vampires are anything but. And there's a huge subculture in Los Angeles of the red-drinking undead."
Rossi: "Why is that not a surprise?" he asks sarcastically as she shows them different photos of people with fangs and blood on the mouths
Watson: "Garcia, all these people drink blood?"
Garcia: "Au contraire. They mostly just dress up like Prentiss did in high school And they make believe. It's all kinds of delicious."
Reid: "It's not the same thing at all. As a matter of fact, we should refer to this unsub as a vampirist, not a vampire. And they would be attracted to the subculture merely for its professed worship of blood."
Garcia: "Ok, I'm going to continue spelunking through the various online sites, see if anything jumps up and bites me."
Morgan: "Thanks, baby g-thanks, Penelope. Stay close."
Garcia: "Yes, sir. Garcia out." she chuckles a little before hanging up
Reid: "You guys, one more thing-vampirists are coveters. They most generally always have some sort of relationship with the victim, even if it's tangential. And they're likely to become obsessed. They've almost certainly crossed paths in some way."
➰
JJ: "Hi, lieutenant Kim. Agent Jareau." she greets when they arrive at the station
Owen: "JJ, of course. I remember most of you. Agent Hotchner. Reid. Morgan. Watson. Welcome back to the left coast." he shakes their hands as they smile at each other
Hotch: "These are agents Prentiss and Rossi. I believe they're new to you."
Owen: "Hi. pleasure. We already have a room set up full of glass boards, case files, and extremely bad coffee."
Emily: "We've worked with a lot less."
Hotch: "Agent Morgan's in charge now. It's his show" he says as Owen gives them a confused look "Long story."
Owen: "I know you like to start with the freshest information and work your way back. So Tara's apartment has been processed and sealed in case you want to go there. And her body, along with that of the first 2 girls, is at the morgue with an ME waiting there for your call."
Morgan: "All right. JJ, get set up here, and then hook up with Garcia. Send her the witness information so she can start cross-referencing with the first 2 victims. Reid, I want you to go through all the case files, set up a preliminary profile based on what you already know about the psychopathology. And the rest of us, let's find out what we can on Tara."
➰
Emily: "This is almost exactly like my first apartment in Georgetown" she says when they walk into Tara's apartment and start looking around "My mom wanted me to stay on campus, but I was determined to make it, so...I waitressed on the weekends to swing it."
Rossi: "You must have been a hell of a waitress to swing an apartment in Georgetown."
Emily: "No, I sucked. I only got by 'cause my mom put money in my account every week and we both pretended I didn't know."
Watson: "Looks like she was studying to make movies."
Emily: "Guys." she calls them into a room where a huge poster of a man with fangs is on the wall
Rossi: "Who is this guy?" he asks as they open her laptop to see a photo of Tara wearing dark clothes and makeup
Watson: "Ah. Well, if you want to look into a young girl's life today, you have to access her myspace, facebook, and twitter accounts. I'll call the sexiest hacker on the planet."
➰
Reporter: "This is Chase Manning, news chopper 12, over the 101 freeway in the San Fernando Valley. Apparently a second body in as many days has been found near an off-ramp."
Watson: "So much for keeping the media out" she scoffs as they turn the tv down "Penelope?" she asks connecting Tara's laptop to one of their own
Garcia: "Are we in yet?"
Watson: "All yours."
Garcia: "I always feel skeevy going through someone's life like this." she sighs
Watson: "Ok, so everything looks like it's password protected, so you might not even be able to-" she stops herself when hearing a beep noise "You're in already, aren't you?"
Garcia: "The password was Cullen."
Watson: "Of course." she breathes in amusement
Reid: "Colon?"
Watson: "Cullen" she clarifies "The vampire family from "Twilight."
Reid: "What's "Twilight"?"
Watson: "Do you ever read anything other than technical books?"
Reid: "Not much in English."
Garcia: "Ok, I'll see what I can dredge. My love is strong."
Watson: "Ok, thanks" she hangs up turning her chair over to where Reid is writing on a whiteboard "How's the profile coming?"
Reid: "I don't know. I never really feel ready, you know?"
Watson: "It'll be fine. I am gonna go talk to Tara's bff."
Reid: "What's a bff?"
Watson: "Oh you poor thing" she sighs while putting her hands on his shoulders "Best friend forever." he nods once she clarifies for him
Reid: "Should I go with you?"
Watson: "No. You have a profile to deliver."
Reid: "Right. I should really work on it a little more."
Watson: "Reid." she scoffs
Reid: "What are you doing with my phone?" he asks watching her pick it up and dial a number
Watson: "Derek, hey, um, Spencer is ready for the profile" she says as Reid shakes his head no at her "Why, yes, he is, right here. I'll be back." she hands him his phone and he smiles forcefully at her as she walks away
Reid: "Hey." he awkwardly says
➰
Reid: "Dr. Reid here."
Watson: "Spencer, what's going on?" she asks as she gets out the car and walks over to a house
Reid: "The possible suspect's some sort of rock and roll star."
Watson: "Seriously?" she asks in disbelief
Reid: "Yeah. A lot of it doesn't fit the profile, though."
Watson: "Anything I can do?"
Reid: "We've never been this off with a profile before. We're trying to figure out where we went wrong."
Watson: "All right. Well, I'm already here at Gina's house, so let me get some info and I'll be back."
Reid: "Great. Thank you so much."
➰
Gina Stop. Don't do that" she answers the door when Watson knocks on it a few times "Grandma's asleep. She's gonna wake up. So you have to stop it. I need to go to the yard." she stutters before walking off as Watson comes into the house while shutting the door
Watson: "Gina" she calls after her as she mutters to herself "Gina. Gina. I'm with the-" she looks around at all the stuff inside and continues following her outside "FBI."
➰
Watson: "Gina. Gina. My name is Naomi Watson. Gina, where'd you go?" she goes down one way and finds Gina in a sort of greenhouse spot putting bottles of blood into a cooler "Gina..." she goes to grab her gun and move closer when she is suddenly hit over the head knocking her out
Ray: "Who the hell is that?"
➰
Reid: "A woman-what changes, what doesn't?" he mutters to himself as he goes over the profile once more to himself "Older female...oh, no" he says after realizing something and his phone rings "Yeah."
Garcia: "Uh, Reid, Uh, I found fan mail to Dante. Vampire fan mail. It's bananas."
Reid: "Obsessional?"
Garcia: "Ad infinitum and beyond. Tara's friend Gina-the stuff she writes-she-he's her God. A vampire God. She lives for him. She said she'll kill for him."
Reid: "And she fits every other piece of the profile. Guys!" he hangs up his phone before moving over to the table where the others are at "The girl Tara was with before she died-Gina-it's her."
Morgan: "Do you have an address?"
Reid: "Yeah. I think Naomi is there right now."
Hotch: "Let's go."
➰
Ray: "Who the hell is she?" Watson hears distorted as she comes to
Gina: "I'm so upset. It's all going to go bad."
Ray: "Forget that. You've got-you've got to kill her." she starts hearing a buzzing noise and looks over to see her phone. She tries to reach it but her sight becomes blurry making her put her head down in pain and she covers her ear
Gina: "It's all going bad."
Ray: "Listen to me, we've got to help Dante. You gotta help Dante again."
Gina: "Dante?"
Ray: "Yeah."
Gina: "He's-he's-he's gonna be angry."
Ray: "No, no, no, no. I promise. He'll only be angry if you don't kill this woman. Listen, you gotta hurt one more girl and then you'll be able to join him in the undead. Ok?" their voices echo as Watson puts her head down once more
➰
Emily: "She isn't answering." she shakes her head
Morgan: "Keep trying."
➰
Gina: "You don't understand!"
Ray: "I do. I do understand" her phone buzzes again making her slowly start to look up and slowly grab her gun "You just have to do one more and Dante will be able to live then."
Gina: "Just one?"
Ray: "Just this one more girl and then you can join the undead, just like we promised."
Gina: "You said that Tara was the last one. That's what you said. You said. Now it's the other girl-"
Ray: "This is the last one. The last one that you have to do, and then you can join Dante and be the undead. Just like we talked about, remember? Remember?"
Gina: "Just one more?"
Ray: "Just one...just one more. And then yourself. Just like he promised."
Gina: "Just one...ok."
Ray: "Just one."
Gina: "Last one."
Ray: "Last one. Take it. Go on, take it" he hands her an ice pick and she slowly takes it "Beautiful. Where did she-ohh!" he looks over at where Watson was before to find that she's gone and she appears behind him and hits him in the head with a shovel
Watson: "Don't move" she points her gun at Gina while holding her hand with the other "Hey!" she calls when Gina moves closer to Ray while giggling and touches the blood on his head
Morgan: "Watson!"
Hotch: "Naomi!"
Watson: "In the back!" she calls out before bending to her knees while holding her head
Gina: "Mine. This is mine. It's mine. You can't-you can't have it. Go away. Go away." she tries to shoo Watson away by throwing ice at her
Emily: "Naomi." herself and Rossi help her up and she pulls her away to check on her
Rossi: "Show me your hands! Let me see your hands!"
Gina: "It's ok. It's ok."
Rossi: "Get your hands clear!"
Gina: "No, no, please, you have to-" she starts yelling out when Hotch restrains her and drags her away "No, no, no, no! no, no, no! The blood is going bad! Please! Please don't do this!"
Morgan: "Are you armed?"
Ray: "No, no, no. No."
Morgan: "Go, go!" he says to Owen who picks him up off the ground to drag him away
Ray: "Hey, I got nothing to do with this. Hey, it's not me. It's the chick. It's got nothing to do with me."
➰On The Plane
Reid: "Hey, do you guys think Davies will continue to perform as Dante?" he asks from the back of the plane as Watson slowly puts an icepack on her head
Emily: "The character's probably responsible for the murder of 4 women. If he has any conscience at all, Dante died with them." she hands Watson a water bottle and Hotch hands her some pain killers
Watson: "Thanks." she says softly
Emily: "Are you ok?"
Watson: "Yeah. Doctor said it'll be sore for a while, but I'm fine, really."
Reid: "I feel so bad I didn't go with you to interview Gina." he puts a blanket over her lap before sitting next to her on the couch and slowly puts her legs over his
Watson: "Spencer, stop, all right? We had no way of knowing she was gonna be dangerous. She was just the friend of a victim. Granted, a schizophrenic friend with a sociopathic partner."
Emily: "And a shovel." she jokes
Morgan: "Seriously, Reid, we had no way of knowing that Gina had that type of anger inside of her."
Reid: "Yeah, but she was obsessed with Dante. I should have known that that level of fixation can lead to manipulation."
Hotch: "But only when the fixation's coupled with schizophrenia, which we had no way of knowing."
JJ: "Still it never ceases to amaze me how dark obsession can get."
Rossi: "And with a pop star? I mean, I was obsessed with the rat pack, but I wouldn't have killed for Frank or Dean."
Hotch: "No, you just drank whiskey and smoked cigars." he starts as the others give them amused smiles
Rossi: "This from the man who's favorite record is the Beatles' White album."
Hotch: "Just because Manson hijacked it doesn't have to ruin it for the rest of us."
Reid: "That's why I stick to Beethoven. There's no chance of guilt by association." he says as they all give him looks before looking between each other
Emily: "Well, yeah. Have you ever seen a movie called "a clockwork orange"?"
Reid: "Mm-mmm." he shakes his head no making them all laugh
Emily: "Writer Cyril Connolly said, better to write for yourself and have no public than to write for the public and have no self."
