Hey Celia, thank you for spending a few moments with Solace Magazine.
Q. Cee, what inspired you to create Majestic Inc?
I logged into Wattpad one sunny day and saw that my book wasn't getting the exposure it needed, and so we're others. So I told myself, why not create a professional community that will tackle this issue. Majestic Inc was born.
Q. You've been on wattpad since 2013, what's the one change you like and the one you're not all satisfied with?
I like the positivity around the community, everywhere you look. For now, nothing.
Q. What can you tell us about the Mc in your story The Heartbreaker's Game?
Temi is a forty-year-old business lady, who is still in search of love. Despite her age, she feels naive and unknowledgeable in the dating world, but she's resilient. When she feels, she found the one finally, it leads her to a dark place-a place she never expected to be.
Q. Is there any specific meaning to your username or was it randomly selected?
Oh yes! Lol. I believe I am hot-headed but soft at heart, hence hottiesoftie. Hot-headed in the sense of being strict.
Q. Why is becoming a Wattpad Ambassador so important of a goal to you?
Being an ambassador is a major step for me in the Wattpad community, it gives me a sense of my helping-the bigger picture.
Q. How did you discover wattpad and why did you decide to start publishing on the site?
When I was at University, a friend of mine introduced it to me. I decided to publish my work because I felt I had stories to tell, that had never been told.
Q. Is there anyone within the Chicklit genre you admire both on and off wattpad and why?
Can I be honest with you, I read books but hardly remember their names, I am after the content. Weird, but true.
Q. What can Cee be found doing on a relaxing free day?
I am either playing with my son, writing, drawing or probably sleeping (which I haven't done in a long while).
Q. That one food you could never say no to even to this day as a child and why do you love it so much?
Pizza! But I am watching my weight lol.
Q. What were some of your best moments in 2019 personally and as a writer?
Finally moving to the United States, and having my first book gain the exposure it has now.
Q. Just how important is networking for any writer?
Very important. It helps you learn and you have people to help.
Q. How do you develop your plot and characters?
I first ask how real are these characters, and I look at my life and life of others I know—pick one or two from them and let the characters lead me.
Q. What, in your opinion, are the most important elements of good writing?
Planning and Editing. I plan and plan, edit and edit.
Q. On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?
An hour or less
Q. What is the most difficult part about writing for you?
Getting the right scene, not telling too much but showing enough.
Q. If you worked at a circus, which job would you want and why?
I would be an animal, the Lion who has tricks up his sleeve. Lol
Q. What do you think you were in your past life?
A politician.
Q. If you could have been a child prodigy what would you have wanted to be skilled at?
A singer.
Q. What's a dream vacation for you?
Spending time with my family.
Q. When you're writing an emotionally draining (or sexy, or sad, etc) scene, how do you get in the mood?
I go back to stories I've heard, movies I've watched and also ask myself how I would react in the said situation.
Finally, tell us, who is Celia O'Brien and what does she stand for?
I am a virtuous woman, and I stand for HOPE!
