Okay, so Im gonna break from the actual story line here. Tell me what you think.
The school play auditions were in one day. I am definetly not into that stuff. Usually Riley isn't either, but when she heard Lucas was trying out she hit the sign up sheets.
"Oh, your trying out for the play?"
"Yeah. You?"
"Yep."
It was kind of awkward because the play was Romeo and Juliet. And this was the 5-7th grade play so 7th graders get the lead roles.
"You hoping for any certian part?"
"Well ummm... it might sound kind of silly, but Romeo is kind of cool."
He didn't make eye contact with Riley the whole time. He was kind of looking down.
"Cool."
What she didn't tell him was that she was hoping to get Juliet, which would have made things even more awkward than they already were.
"Are you hoping for a big role"
Riley looked at me in panic. I nodded telling her to tell him. But she collapsed under the pressure.
"Ummm... I don't really care. I'll take whatever. I'll try out for whoever they have the lowest number of volunteers for," she said uncertainty
"I guess." she whispered under her breath.
The bell rang marking 6th period.
"Well, see ya."
"Bye"
Riley walked over to me looking so upset.
"I had so may opportunities to flirt. Why didn't I Maya, WHY????!!!!"
"You were nervous. That's normal"
"So your saying I'm normal?"
"Oh honny, you're the furthest thing from normal."
We laughed and walked off to class.
