On their way back to Subaru's place, everyone was talking about what to do later heatedly, however, Emilia was only half-aware of what was going on. "We're going back home now... but Puck is already at the brink of losing control... should I suggest we go somewhere else first... but we're only five minutes from our home now... ah... what to do what to do..." Emilia screamed in her head, her eyes fixed on the floor. During the past few days, Puck's mana had been becoming more and more uncontrollable. This morning, Puck's mana already leaked to an extent that the small storeroom where he was hidden was covered in ice. What would happen if it continued to go worse... not to mention Subaru's friends would be there... Emilia couldn't think any further.
"Emilia-tan, where are you going???" Subaru's voice said and pulled Emilia back to reality. She snapped back and looked back and saw that there was no one walking beside her. She wheeled around and saw that she already walked past the entrance to their apartment and Subaru and the rest were standing at the entrance, looking at her confusedly. "A-Ah, gomen gomen..." She hurried back, laughing awkwardly. "You're feeling alright, right?? Emilia-san," Hinata asked, trying to hide the smile on his face. "D-Did you somehow get a frozen b-brain from the snow-- OWW!!!" Hinata's words were cut as Haruka's foot and Aki's fist hit his leg and head.
"I-I'm fine I'm fine!! Really!! I just had something on my mind, that's all." Emilia said, waving her hand, thinking that there was no going back now and hoped that everything would be fine. They got to the door, and when Subaru inserted the key and closed his hand around the doorknob, he paused. "Uh oh..." He muttered. The doorknob was icy cold. "Brace yourselves..." He said over his shoulder. Everyone gulped, and Subaru opened the door. The same cold breeze blew out from inside, and everyone recoiled from the unbearable coldness. "I'll go get the heater on!!" Subaru shouted as he rushed inside. The rest of them got in as well and went to the living room.
"The heater's on now. We should be fine in a few minutes." Subaru said as he returned. "You sure there's nothing wrong with your apartment?? There're no holes or leaks in the walls right??" Haruka asked suspiciously, shivering and rubbing her hands together. "There shouldn't be. This place got renovated not long ago before I left." He said, scratching his head and frowning. "Anyway, it'll get warm in a bit. I'll go get the hotpot." Subaru said and went to the kitchen. They'd decided to eat hotpot on their way back.
"Alright! Time to show me my best dishes!!" Hinata said and followed Subaru to the kitchen. "Rem will help!!" Rem said. "Rem is very interested in what dishes Natsuno-san can make!! Perhaps she can also learn how to make them!!" She said firmly and went to the kitchen as well. The rest of them helped them take the ingredients they bought out and set the table. Soon, the cooking team, including Subaru, Hinata, and Rem, started their work, while the rest of them stayed in the living room.
"Oi Tsuyumi, since we've got nothing to do now, I challenge you to a Smash battle." Aki said as he took out Hinata's switch and put it in the dock. "Heh, looks like someone's craving an ass-whooping. Challenge accepted." Haruka said with a smirk and grabbed her controller. The two started playing with Ram and Beatrice watching them interestedly. "Whoaaaa....." The two muttered together, looking fascinated by the beautiful graphics and flashing screen. Seeing that half of the people were in the kitchen and the rest of them were absorbed to the TV screen, Emilia got up quietly and left the living room.
"Puck," She went to the storeroom and opened the door. She tiptoed and looked into the highest shelf on a cabinet and pushed aside two boxes, revealing the small silver cat, who was constantly giving out a snowy breeze. "Hey, Lia." Puck said with a smile, though his voice sounded weaker than usual. "I'm now letting most of my mana in the air, but a small portion of it is still released in the house. Gomen ne, Lia, troubling you this much." He said, waving his small paw apologetically. "No worries, Puck, we're gonna be fine." She said, taking his small paw. "It's almost over. I think it might be over in a day or so. Just bear with me a little bit more, alright?" He said, winking at her. "Definitely, Puck." She said, and winked back.
"Emilia-tan, what're you doing here??" Subaru's voice suddenly said from behind, and Emilia let out a small scream, startled. "Nothing nothing nothing nothing!!" Emilia screamed, turning around. "You sure about that??" Subaru asked suspiciously, approaching her and trying to look into the storeroom. "N-NO NO NO NO NO!!! Y-You can't come near here!!!" Emilia screamed as she flung herself at him, trying to push him away. "Wha-- Cho-- Na-- Wha--" Subaru's face went bright red and jumped back, stuttering, not knowing what to say nor how to respond to this situation. "THERE'S A BIG COCKROACH IN THERE AND YOU'RE MAKING US FOOD SO YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE!!!!!" She shouted in a breath, still pushing herself against Subaru. "O-OHHHH WAKATTA WAKATTA!!!" Subaru screamed and rushed back to the kitchen, leaving Emilia in front of the storeroom, panting slightly. "That was a nice drama, Lia," Puck said, clapping with his soft paws. "AH, WAIT A MOMENT, DID YOU SAY I'M A COCKROACH????" Puck shouted in Emilia's mind five seconds later.
Soon, their lunch was ready, and all of them gathered in the living room. Subaru cleaned out the table in the living room and placed the hotpot in the middle and surrounded it with the dishes Hinata made. "Hehehehehe, admire me, minna!! I present you with all my best dishes!!" He said with his shoulders squared and hands on his hips. "Wow, Natsuno-san, your dishes look way better than those made by Barusu." Ram said with her eyes twinkling. "But Nee-sama, didn't you enjoy eating my dishes all the time?" Subaru said, his arms folded and eyebrow raised. "Hm, Ram is only pretending. When Rem is enjoying, it is rude of Ram to appear unsatisfied. Ram is a model nee-sama so she always presents the best of her in front of her dear imouto." Ram said with her eyes closed. "Sasuga Nee-sama!!" Rem said with her eyes twinkling as well.
Subaru covered his eyes with his hand and sighed, his other hand holding on Hinata's shoulder, and everyone laughed. "Let's eat, or my dishes will go cold!!" Hinata said, and they turned on the hotpot and started eating. Emilia, Rem, Ram, and Beatrice appeared to be very interested in the idea of hotpots since they never really had them before. "Oooohhhh so this is how eating a hotpot feels like." Emilia said, holding her cheek and looking at the meat between her chopsticks. "It is so warm! No wonder people love it!!" Rem said with a similar expression as Emilia's on her face. "Oh, is this your first time eating hotpot??" Aki asked, looking at Emilia. "Yes, we have never eaten this before back in our country." Emilia said with a smile.
"We could make a big profit from this when we return there." Ram said, smiling. "Nee-sama, your eyes are turning into yen signs you know??" Subaru said, and everyone laughed. They continued eating, enjoying the hotpot. At the same time, they were also surprised by Hinata's dishes. "Damn Hinata, you're not joking about your cooking skills. These are delicious!!" Subaru said when he finally swallowed a mouthful of food. "Hehehe, told you." He said, smiling. "Wanna know how I got this good??" He said with a smirk. "Ah I already know. You watched either Toriko, Shokugeki no Soma, or Chuka Ichiban and wanted to become one of the characters in those shows." Subaru said, smirking.
"Nah, I just had to learn to cook to survive. Both my parents are dreadful at cooking. One time my dad set the kitchen on fire while trying to make ice cream, and another time my mom almost demolished my house when she's baking cookies. So I had to stop them from ever going into the kitchen again and cook myself." Hinata said and burst out laughing. The rest of them spent ten seconds trying to comprehend what Hinata just said and all burst into laughter as well. About another half an hour later, they finished their lunch and cleaned up the table.
"Well, what do we do now?? More Smash?? Or Pokemon??" Subaru asked. "Or some other Wii games?? Sorry I only got Wii games here." He added. "Let us play Smash first!! Our fight's not finished yet!!" Aki shouted. "I'm gonna break this freaking tie!!" Haruka shouted as well and they resumed their battle. "Oh, you're doing best three out of five??" Subaru asked as the two started mashing on the buttons again. "No, we're doing six out of ten!! We're on game four now!!" Aki and Haruka shouted at the same time. Subaru laughed and turned to the girls. "Well, do you want me to teach you to play some video games??" Subaru asked and handing them his DS.
"Hm, come to think of it, we've never played any video games so far, right?" Emilia said, taking the DS from Subaru. "Then, Rem will gladly learn how to play video games." Rem said and moved to Emilia. Hinata handed Ram his DS and was about to sit down at watch Aki and Haruka play, but someone tugged his sleeve. "Natsuno-san," Beatrice said in a quiet voice, and Hinata turned to her. "Yeah? What's up?? Wanna talk more about books??" He said. "That'd be nice, in fact, but, well, can you teach Betty how to cook..." She said in an even quieter voice.
Hearing this, both Subaru's and Ram's ear became two times bigger, listening in to their conversation. "Of course!! There're still some ingredients left!! Let's go to the kitchen now!!" He said and got up, and Beatrice followed behind him to the kitchen. "Hoooo........" Subaru and Ram said together, turning to the direction where the kitchen was. "Subaru-kun, Nee-sama, what's the matter??" Rem asked, tilting her head confusedly. "Nothing," The two said in unison with the same smirk on their faces. "Now you quite get the silent agreement, don't you?" Emilia said, giggling.
The rest of the afternoon passed with Aki and Haruka battling, Subaru teaching Rem, Emilia, and Ram playing video games, and Hinata teaching Beatrice how to cook, and none of them realized the gradually worsening snow outside the window. And when it was about five-thirty, the power went out. "AHHHHH FUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!" Aki shouted as the screen went off, however, Haruka was calmer and pulled the Switch tablet out the dock immediately. "AHHHHH GOOD THINKING!!!!" Aki shouted and the two leaned over the tablet and continued their fight. Subaru got up and went to the kitchen.
"You okay there??" He asked as Hinata came out of it with Beatrice behind him. "We're fine, just a bit startled when it all went black." He said and the three all went back to the living room. "Ahhh, this is troublesome. If the power doesn't come back soon we're all gonna freeze to death. I'll go get the generator on now." Subaru muttered and headed to the balcony. "Hey, Beatrice-san and I made some more food, come eat some if you're hungry." Hinata said as he put down several plates on the table. "Oh wow, thank you, Natsuno-san." Emilia said. "And Beatrice-sama made these as well??" Rem asked.
"Betty... did a little, Betty supposes." Beatrice said, twirling her fingers together. Just then, the lights went on again. "Thank god the generator is still working." Subaru said when he returned and saw the plates of food. "Ooooh, looking good." Subaru said. "Bea-ko, you made these??" He said, leaning down toward her, smirking. "Now you gotta make dinner when it's your turn, yeah?? No more to-go's from Ossan's or Antonella-san's, yeah?" He said, and without a word, Beatrice stomped her foot hard on Subaru's and left him screaming in pain and hopping on one foot. "If you dare lay one finger on those dishes Betty swears she will beat you into a pulp, in fact!!" Beatrice said with a fierce look on her face. "I... I think my foot bones are fractured..." He groaned as two lines of tears streamed down his face.
"I won't have mercy for you this time, Subaru." Emilia said, giggling. "Yes, Emilia-sama, Rem agrees." Rem said with a nod, and Ram was trembling with suppressed laughter and taking photos with her phone. Just then, everyone's phone vibrated. "Oh, we have a message from the school." Hinata said. "It says that since the power is cut now, those who live close to the school, which is running on its own generator now, can come to the school and stay there during the outage." Subaru said and nodded. "Well, at least we know that we have somewhere to go if the generator here stops working." He said in relief.
"AHHHHHH FUUUUUUUCK!!!!!" Aki screamed suddenly, causing everyone to jump. They turned to the two playing Smash and saw Aki falling back to the floor and Haruka standing up with her hand in the air in triumph. "Yes...!!!!" She muttered as her fist clenched tightly. "I won." She turned around and said to them. "Peace." She added with a v sign. "Congrats." Subaru said as he gave a few claps, laughing. "Eh, what do you wanna do later?? Got any plans?? I can assume that we don't want any more video games, right?" He said, looking at them. "Well, Subaru, I do have something I want to discuss with you and Beatrice-san for the club's final project." Hinata said.
"We can watch some horror movies." Aki said in a weak voice, still lying on the floor. "Oh that's a good idea." Haruka said, looking at Aki with a smirk. "We can see someone's scared face then." She said, snickering. Aki growled and sat up, glaring up at Haruka. "Says the one who ran out of the theatre last time when we went to see Annabelle Comes Home." Aki fired back. "Hooooo, so you two went to the movies together, huh." Subaru said after three seconds, holding his chin and wearing a smug look. "Ho ho..." Hinata chimed in with the same look as Subaru's on his face. "Oh ho..." Ram joined the two as well, nodding very slowly.
"Fuck you three." The two said together as they flipped them the bird. "You know what, we should finish the dishes Beatrice and Natsuno-san made and go out and get some more food. I see that the snow seems to have ceased now." Emilia said, standing up and walking to the middle of them. "Good idea, but it's just so cold outside, Emilia-tan." Subaru said, looking hesitant. "Well, since it's so cold, we can all cool down a bit, can't we." She said, smiling. The rest of them exchanged looks, and in the end, they decided that they'd do what Emilia suggested.
They put on their thick jackets and left the apartment after quickly savoring the dishes made by Hinata and Beatrice. "Brrrrr... it's still very cold..." Hinata muttered. "But it seems that it's stopped getting colder though, that's a good sign." Subaru said. They arrived at the gourmet street pretty soon, and most restaurants were already closed. When they got to Ossan's noodle shop, they saw that it was open. "Oh, lucky us. I was just thinking about whether we can eat there or not." Hinata said happily, and the group of people entered the shop.
"Irrashaimase, ah, Subaru-kun, oh, your friends are here too!" He said energetically as he welcomed them. "It's been a while, Ossan!!" Hinata greeted him energetically as well, and Aki and Haruka waved at him. "Ossan knows them too??" Rem asked as she and the others sat down. "Of course I know them. They're the ones who always accompanied Subaru-kun here when he was having trouble at school." Ossan said, smiling. "They're all very nice people, very nice indeed." He said. "Well, we're his friends, aren't we??" Hinata said, grinning widely.
They gave Ossan's their orders and soon, their orders arrived. As they ate, Subaru, Hinata, Aki, and Haruka chatted with Ossan while the girls listened to them. Ossan was glad to hear that Subaru and his friends were doing good at school, and seeing that Subaru was never defeated by the hardship at school and even managed to help the people around him, he nodded in approval. "Looks like school is no longer trouble and burden to you, right, Subaru-kun??" Ossan said and handed them a few extra plates of karaage and fried dumplings. "A small gift from me." He said, smiling. "Whoaaa thanks!! Ossan!! You're really the best!!" Subaru and Hinata said together.
Soon, they finished their meals and went home, and Ossan also decided to call it a day and closed the noodle shop. In a few minutes of walking, the group returned to Subaru's apartment. "It feels so good to eat at Ossan's again." Hinata said satisfactorily as he sat down on the sofa, patting his stomach. "Yeah, it sure has been a while since we last ate there. I can't even remember when we went there together last time." Aki said, sitting down beside Hinata. "Alright, now we're all well-fed, Subaru, Beatrice-san, I want to discuss with you about the project." Hinata said as he gestured them to come over to him.
"Yeah, what's on your mind??" Subaru asked as he and Beatrice gathered around him. "I've been thinking about this for quite a long time, and I think it's finally time that I put it into action with you." He said and looked over to Aki and the others. "It's gonna take some time here so if you wanna watch horror movies just go on without us." He said, and Aki nodded and got up to the TV. "Oi Natsuki, you have any horror films??" Aki asked. "Uh, I do, but I'm not sure which ones I have. They're all in the cabinet next to the TV." Subaru said, and Aki nodded and opened the cabinet, and at the same time, the girls all gathered around the cabinet as well. The three then went to Subaru's room to have their discussion.
Hinata sat down on Subaru's bed with Beatrice next to him at the very edge of Subaru's bed, and Subaru sat down in his chair, and Hinata spoke. "Alright, this is what I want to do." He said, and Subaru noticed that there was an unusual suppressed excitement in his voice. "Let's do our own animation!!" He said. Subaru stared at him with his mouth open. "Wait wait wait what?? Making our own animation??" Subaru repeated with his hands and head shaking. "That's impossible!!" Subaru said, his head still shaking. "Don't say that, Subaru. There're six people in the club, we can work it out!! Trust me!!" Hinata said, grabbing Subaru's hand. "This has long been my dream!!" He said firmly. Subaru frowned and sighed.
"I understand, Hinata. But, seriously, we... we've never done something like this before. We only did anime watching and reviewing, and I'm not even good at drawing!! Not to mention that we don't know what the rest of the members think. We need to consider their opinions as well." Subaru said, retrieving his hands from Hinata's grip. "And we don't even have that much time, you see. The club fair will be on 12/24, the day we'll be presenting our final project, and that's only a bit more than a month away from now. We can't possibly produce an animation in such a short period of time while we have homework and exams and other troublesome stuff to do!" Subaru said. "Can't we do something else like, well, revoicing an anime clip or something??" He suggested in the end.
Neither Hinata nor Beatrice uttered a word for about ten seconds, and Hinata sighed. "I thought you'd say yes." He muttered sadly, and Subaru recoiled slightly from his reaction. "I really thought you would say yes. But maybe you're right. There isn't much time left, and I didn't ask about the others' thoughts either. Sorry, I just got a bit too excited about the idea. I mean, I've wanted to try it for a really long time." He said, forcing a smile on his face. "Yeah, let's do your suggestion. It'd be fun voicing some epic anime scenes as well." Hinata said, but his voice still sounded weird, unlike himself.
Subaru looked at him uncertainly. He was sure that his refusal of Hinata's idea hurt him, but he had no choice but to say that. He knew Hinata for a long time. He knew when it came to anime related stuff, Hinata would lose his mind and pour all of his time and effort into it, and they no longer had the spare time and effort to complete such a grand ambition. "Ahem," Beatrice, who'd been silent the whole time, finally spoke, and the two both jumped and turned to her. "Before you go any further feeling sad and sorry, hear what Betty has to say first, Betty supposes." Beatrice said with a frown. "The first time Betty saw what anime is, she was surprised, really surprised, Betty supposes. So on the same day when she got home, Betty immediately started researching how anime is made, in fact. She learned its history, how it gradually becomes such a major culture in Japan that it is now called the subculture of Japan, the difficulty of creating an anime, as well as the various forms of anime, in fact." Beatrice said.
"The more Betty does her research, the more she is impressed by the animators, Betty supposes. Similar to book writers, they are story writers, visual novelists, Betty supposes. They not only put what is originally in novels or mangas into moving pictures but also give them lives and souls, in fact. Betty can feel the effort and dedication a writer puts in the book, after all, her job back in Roswaal's mansion was the bookkeeper of the books there. Betty supposes that making an animation is just an alternative way of making a book, only that the book is a book full of moving pictures. However, in Betty's research, she learns that it is extremely difficult to make an anime without all the manpower and resources, in fact. For a five-minute anime drawn by hand, say, we do twelve frames per second, we'd need to draw 24 hours without stopping every day if we want to finish it in fifty days, Betty supposes. This is just too much work so Betty never talks about it during club time. But, to be frank, Betty wants to try too, Betty supposes. We don't have to make the animation perfect, we don't need to make it twelve frames per second, there're all kinds of animation. We just need to make what we think is best, in fact. Betty supposes she wants to be the creator of this motion book as well." She finished and, turning away with her face going slightly red, "Betty doesn't want to see her friend so sad either." She added in a mutter.
Subaru stared at her with his mouth open again. He had not expected to hear those words come from Beatrice's mouth. He'd thought she'd be the one who needed to be taught how animations were made, now it turned out that she knew more about animation than he did. He suddenly felt a small squirm in his stomach, felt a bit guilty that he cowered before even starting their attempt of making an animation. "A-Ano sa, HinataaaAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" Subaru started shouting as he turned to Hinata. His whole face was covered in lines of tears, and more tears were coming out his eyes and dropping on the back of his hands, his whole body trembling. "Beatrice-san....!!!!!" He shouted with tears falling down his cheeks like two waterfalls and flung himself at her.
"NAA--" Beatrice shouted as Hinata's arms closed around her and froze with all of her hair standing up. "HINATAAAAAA--" Subaru sprang to his feet as well with his hand reached out but froze in midair as well. Both Subaru and Beatrice appeared lost about what to do under such a situation. "What happened?? We heard screams--" Aki banged the door open and became the third person who froze where he stood. Haruka pulled Aki back and stuck her head through the door. She silently pulled out her phone and started recording while Rem and Emilia were trying to find something to say to break the dead silence. Ram just stood outside the door with a smirk on her face.
The commotion finally ended ten minutes later when Hinata finally calmed down and apologized to Beatrice, saying that he got too happy hearing her saying such moving words. The rest of them went back watching horror movies and Subaru, Hinata, and Beatrice finally reached an agreement that they would try to make a three-minute-long animation. Subaru also texted Mutsuki, Kenichi, and Kousuke about this project. The three replied that they'd like to learn more about it and said that it'd be best that they talked in person. "Hey, you know what," Hinata said, and Subaru and Beatrice turned to him, the latter a bit reluctantly.
"Since the school said we're free to go there, let's just all meet up at school tomorrow." Hinata suggested. "Ah, good idea. We can all discuss together there, and probably we can get some first-hand info about what would become of the Sports Day." Subaru said, and Beatrice nodded. "Okay, then that's settled." Hinata said and sent the message to their group chat. In a few minutes, all three replied that they would be there tomorrow.
"Ah... I suddenly feel so relieved and tired for some reason..." Hinata said as he laid down on Subaru's bed. "Same here." Subaru said in a sigh. He then turned around and took out some papers and pencils. "Hinata, should we do some practices first?" He asked, and Hinata jolted back up, nodding. "Sure, let's do it!!" He said and got off the bed and went to his desk. "And I know you're good at drawing, don't lie." Hinata added, laughing. "I'm not lying, I really can't draw human figures well..." Subaru said, laughing in defeat. "Then what can you draw??" Beatrice went to the desk as well, frowning slightly with a skeptical look on her face. "Well, I can draw machines and weird creatures, and cute animals is my specialty, hehe." He said, smirking. "You know back then when Attack on Titan's first season came out. Everyone was crazy about it, and I'm one of them. So I got really into designing machines and gears and stuff." Subaru said, looking at Hinata, and he laughed and closed his eyes.
"Ah, 2013, the good old days." He said, immerging himself in his memories. "Bea-ko you weren't here in 2013, you never know how crazy people got with Attack on Titan. It was just crazy. I can't think of other adjectives to describe the craze back then." He said, chuckling. "Ah wait." Subaru got and took out two drawing boards from the gap between the desk and the wall and tossed them on his bed. "Let's just draw on my bed, my desk's not big enough." He said and the three climbed back on Subaru's bed, Beatrice looking reluctant about putting her full weight on the bed but gave in in the end. "Omae," She pointed at Subaru. "You'd better be regularly washing these sheets, in fact. If Betty finds out she's been forced to sit on dirty sheets she'll make sure you never see the sun again, Betty supposes." She said threateningly. "Hai hai hai," Subaru said with his hands held out in surrender, and the three, smiling, started sketching.
"Hoohaaa......" Aki yawned when he woke up and sat back up straight, his vision still blurry. "When did I fall asleep..." He muttered and checked his phone. It was almost two in the morning. "You fell asleep pretty soon after the movie started." Haruka answered. The movie was already running the credits now, and Aki looked around. The rest of the girls all looked tired as well. "Damn, I thought the sequel would be good." He said and turned off the TV. They decided to watch It after choosing among several other options. The girls were basically all very scared watching it. Rem and Ram were hugging each other throughout the whole movie with Emilia clinging onto Ram. Haruka was pretty scared as well but she vowed to herself that she'd jump out the window if she ever showed it in front of Aki and pretended that it was nothing to her. Aki wasn't really scared of this kind of horror movie so he actually enjoyed it.
However, when it got to chapter 2, the sequel movie of It, he couldn't help but fell asleep. Frankly, after watching the first one, the girls got slightly more immune to the scary stuff in the movie and weren't as scared. Haruka fell asleep halfway through as well and only woke up five minutes before Aki did, and Rem, Ram, and Emilia did the movie the courtesy and managed to bear with it till the end. "The second one is sort of disappointing if you ask Ram." Ram said and got up, stretching muscles. "Yeah, I think the first one is better too. I was a lot more scared while watching the first one." Emilia said and got up as well. She checked the time and yawned. "It's so late now. We should go to bed." Emilia said and turned to Aki and Haruka. "Kouyou-san, Tsuyumi-san, please feel free to use the guest room." Emilia said with a smile.
"Ho, then we'd have another drama to watch." Ram said, once again wearing a smirk. Aki and Haruka both looked at each other from the corner of their eyes, and without another word, both rushed to the guest room. "Damn it you go sleep on the sofa you shorty!! The sofa's perfect for your height!!" Aki shouted as the two started fighting in front of the guest room door. "Fucking hell have you never been taught about ladies first you freaking dipshit!!" Haruka shouted back. "Since when are you a lady you female Machamp!!"
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST CALL ME!?!?!?!" Haruka shouted again as the fight between the two intensified.
"Let's go check if Subaru-kun, Natsuno-san, and Beatrice-sama are still awake." Rem, ignoring the rumble of dust in front of the guest room, pointed at Subaru's bedroom door. "Yeah, let's do that. But they're probably already asleep. I don't hear any sound from his room." Emilia said and the three approached the door. Emilia slowly pushed opened the door and saw that, as she expected, the three were already fast asleep. Subaru fell asleep with his face against the wall and mouth open, and they could see that his saliva slowly flowing out and trickling down the wall. On the other hand, Hinata was fast asleep as well, leaning against the other wall, looking peaceful and satisfied, and, sitting between Subaru and Hinata and resting her head on Hinata's shoulder, Beatrice was asleep too, a small smile on her face.
Emilia smiled and reached out her hand to turn off the light for them, however, Ram stopped her hand and took out her phone and took a picture. She then let go of her hand and gave her a thumb-up. "Mou, Ram." Emilia whispered with a defeated laugh and closed the door. "We should go to bed now, Emilia-sama, Nee-sama." Rem said, and the two nodded. They quickly did their routines and returned to their room. "Oyasuminasai, Kouyou-san, Tsuyumi-san." The three bade the two, lying on the floor and panting, goodnight and entered their room. "O-Oyasumi..." The two said together faintly and got up. "So... what now?" Aki asked, sitting up and rubbing his head.
"I'm not sleeping on the sofa." Haruka said firmly. "Me neither." Aki replied. They stayed silent for a while and reached a silent agreement. They got in the guest room and found a thin blanket, rolled it up, and placed it in the middle of the bed. "Don't you dare cross this line." The two said in unison, pointing at the line. The two left the room and quickly did their routines as well and got back to the room, and in silence, they got on the bed and fell asleep without another word. Soon, everyone in the apartment was asleep. Every family on the street was asleep. However, the cold wave outside that appeared to have stopped intensifying seemed to have woken up. "Arara..." Puck muttered in the small space in the storeroom and vanished, and at that moment, the snowstorm started to rage once again.
Seven hours had passed, and it was morning now. The sun was shining brightly outside the window, and beams of sunlight penetrated Subaru's window. Subaru groaned a little and tried to change his position, however, there was an odd feeling about it. Something seemed to be pulling on his face. He groaned again and tried again and realized that he couldn't really move his head. He tried to open his eyes but his eyelids felt oddly heavy as well, and when he finally opened his eyes, there was a searing pain around his eyes. "What the hell...??" He thought, and when his eyes finally adapted to the light, he realized that his room seemed to be gleaming slightly.
"What the hell...??" He thought again and tried moving his head once again, and this time, he realized that his cheek was stuck to the wall. And when his body regained most of its feeling, he realized that there were icicles sticking to his nose and chin, and what came after that was a severe shudder. He exhaled, and white fog manifested before his eyes. Finally, he realized that the gleams in his room were sunlight reflected by the ice in his room. He finally pulled his face off the wall after several minutes of deep breathing to prepare himself and internally screamed for a few more minutes after his face detached from the wall. He looked over to Hinata and Beatrice and saw that they were in better conditions but still with some ice on their faces.
The realization came so suddenly and unexpected that Subaru temporarily forgot to feel cold. He stared around the room once again and finally lost it.
"SERIOUSLY!!!! WHAT IN THE FUCKING HELL IS GOING ON NOW????" He shouted as his body finally registered the coldness once again.
A/N: YEA!!!! ANOTHER CHAPTER DONE!!!! WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Well, this might be the last update before another long disappearance. School has started for about a week now and I'm about to get busy again, but if I somehow have free time during the term I'll still try to write more. I might go update the Bleach fic as well :p I'm not sure yet. Also, I want to recommend an anime in this season called Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na! (Keep Your Hands off Eizouken!) It is such an amazing anime!! You won't regret watching it! It is an anime talking about anime making, and part of this chapter is inspired by the anime.
