Lake x M! Reader
Lake was a beautiful female, desired by many males in the colony. Especially after showing her strength and loyalty to their king after the battle with the humans from the North. The males wanted her, but she was promised to Blue Eyes, who had survived nearly an inch of his life. But through all their hardships, Lake couldn't find it in her heart to love Blue Eyes. Not since (y/n) arrived.
You were a soldier working with the general, but you were locked up for treason and sent on monkey duty. When Lake saw you, she thought you were the most handsome male she had ever seen. Your eyes were hard from battle, but still held a twinkle in those (eye color) orbs. Your hair was (length) and (color), always messy from lack of combing. She often imagine combing her fingers through it. You were (thin/chubby/muscular) and had a nice smile. Throughout the time you were imprisoned, Lake couldn't stop looking at you. What she didn't know is that you couldn't help but look at her as well. When you saw her in the cage your heart twisted with guilt and sadness. She approached you when you fed them and looked at you with the most beautiful emerald green eyes that made your heart soar. You knew you had to do something, had to get her out. It was you who unlocked Ceaser's cage and saved the apes. By doing so, you had become part of the colony. The apes protector for all time.
But now as you sit on your boulder by the little straw hut in the forest past the dessert, you couldn't help but feel like crap. You fiddled with a twig while you watched Lake from afar, walking with Blue Eyes who was still healing from the wound he received on his shoulder from the general. You could feel a scowl form on your lips and you glared at the prince, feeling jealousy and anger towards him but you couldn't hate him.
"(Y/n)."
You turned your head a bit and saw Bad Ape, recently name George to you, shuffle towards you and sit down with a oomph. He put his hands on his lap and watched you a moment as you stared at the two.
"You like Lake don't you?" He asks.
"...yes." you clipped out.
"Then why don't... tell her?" He asks.
"She's with Blue Eyes... I can't tell her now." You sigh defeated.
"Never know unless you try... that what you say all the time." He says to you, causing you to chuckle.
"Well even if I did tell her, if she didn't care for me then I would ruin our friendship."
"Friendship stronger then you think. Will heal with time." He says puffing his tiny chest out proudly at the little speech. You let out s breathy laugh and looked back at Lake, who was waving goodbye to Blue Eyes.
"Your smarter then you look short stack." You smirk, patting his back and getting up, rushing to follow Lake while George grinned at the compliment.
"Lake!" You called and she all but froze, turning to you and waiting for you to catch up.
"I just..." suddenly you were stumped. Thinking about telling her was easier then actually telling her.
"I was... just.... I want to...um..." you coughed, clearing you throat at a small blush began to form around your (stubbly/smooth) skin. Lake smiled, watching as you shuffled your feet a moment before stepping closer to her.
"I just wanted to say that... I think... You were really brave back there... and I think your pretty amazing." You say, letting out the breath you didn't realize you were holding. Lake smiled and nodded thanking you with sign.
'You are brave and amazing too. I never knew man can be so kind.' She signs, stepping a little closer to you making you tense with the closeness.
"Well... You give me a reason to be." You reply with a side smile. Lake looked down with a huff and then back up to you, smiling wide at you.
Then you were both silent, staring into each others eyes for a moment before you felt her hand touch the inside of your own. You let out a breath and smiled, twisting your fingers around yours. Then she looked up with those pretty green eyes and you felt yourself getting even closer. Or was that her? Eventually the two of you were nose to nose, lips so close you could barely stand it.
"I want to tell..." You whisper.
"...Tell me..." her sickly sweet voice hummed in your ear and you broke.
"Oh hell." You say and bring your face to her, pressing your lips to her surprised ones.
She recovered after a single second and kissed back, pulling your neck closer and pressing deeper into the kiss. Your hands moved to grab her around her waist and hold her soft warm fur beneath you, causing you to groan into the kiss.
After you couldn't breath anymore, you pulled away and panted a bit, seeing her eyes glazed over as she stared up at you.
"I love you." You whisper to her.
She smiled slowly, pulling you down again and kissing you more softly. That's when you knew your answer; she loved you too.
