Maka's Point of View
Miss (L/N) was standing next to me, silently. Her eyes were in front of us and she was stunning. I could see why Professor Stein loved her so much. We were headed into the forest next to the academy and I paused, calling,
"Miss (L/N), where are we going?" She looked back at me and smiled, responding,
"Somewhere a little more private, Maka. Come on. I'll protect you, promise." She held her pinkie finger out to me and I looked at her hand, hesitating. The smile on her face was enough for me to nod and wrap my pinkie finger around her own, trusting nothing would happen.
When we were a little past the center of the forest, Miss (L/N) stopped and leaned against the trunk of a tree, looking at me,
"Maka, you should tell Soul how you feel."
"But I'm not exactly his type. He's an idiot sometimes, but he is cool and collected. I'm a nerd. Not to mention my body isn't exactly. . .desirable." I countered, looking down and feeling my chees heat up at the last thing I mentioned. I heard Miss (L/N) sigh and her footsteps approaching me. I saw her feet come into my vision and she lifted my chin with her pointer finger, then put her hands on my shoulders. Looking into her eyes, I felt supported and her next words gave me the confidence I wish I had at all times,
"A woman's body isn't the only thing that makes her desirable. The sharp intellect that you have is something extremely desirable. Your skill set is desirable. The way you feel shouldn't be suppressed because you feel you aren't enough. You are more than enough, Maka. Even if Soul doesn't feel the same, you should try to talk to him that way you know for sure. You'll regret it more if you just ignore how you're feeling."
"Thank you, Miss (L/N)." I replied, wrapping my arms around her waist and she sighed, hugging me back gently.
"Anytime, Maka."
"You really think Soul will like me, even with my flat chest?"
The question made her laugh and I blushed, but she replied,
"Soul does, in fact, look at physical attributes."
". . . Oh."
"But you guys are kids and he is a boy. You may grow into your body yet, Maka. I think Soul will like you for you Maka. Every part of you, kiddo."
This response made me smile and when I pulled away from her, she looked at the sky commenting,
"It's getting close to your last class. Let's head back. I'll walk to class with you, in case you're late."
"Okay. Thank you, Miss (L/N)."
As we were walking, she smiled and rubbed the back of her neck, replying,
"No need to thank me. Also, you can call me (Y/N) outside of class. I'm not your teacher right now. I'm not really a teacher anyway, but I know Stein would have a fit if you guys called me (Y/N) in class."
"Okay, Miss-"
". . ."
"Okay, (Y/N). You've really helped me out. I'll talk to Soul today when we get home."
"That's great, Maka."
"Would it be too much to ask if I can talk to you about what happens, tomorrow?"
"Of course not, sweetheart. I'm always here for you to talk to. Don't hesitate to ask."
With that she ruffled my hair and I smiled, nodding happily. When we got to my next class, (Y/N) poked her head through the door and told Sid that she was the reason I was late. So, I was excused and she wished me goodbye as I walked through the door.
Reader's Point of View
As the door closed, I sighed and ran a hair through my hair, hoping or the best for Maka.
"Everything went well, I hope." Stein's voice called, making me jump slightly. Looking at him, I sighed and he laughed at my jumpiness. Spirit was with him and he looked worried, obviously about Maka.
"Spirit, Maka is fine. That I promise you." I informed him, making him relax, but he sighed,
"I figured. I just wish she would talk to me about these things." Stein walked over to me and he laced our fingers, suggesting,
"Let's go talk about this over lunch." Spirit went to leave and Stein corrected himself,
"I meant all of us, Spirit. You too."
"I wouldn't want to intrude."
"You wouldn't be."
". . .Alright. let's go."
