Australia's POV:

"LET GO OF ME!!!" Canada and America were dragging me back into the house as I saw the ambulance drive off. Managed to struggle free of my brothers but it was too late they had driven off. I sat on the driveway where my little brother had just been taken. I sat and cried. I saw him full unconscious while Canada and America were trying to stop the blood.

I felt someone's hand on my shoulder.

"Let's go inside," it was Canada. I refused to get up.

"Please Aussie, New Zealand is going to be okay. Now come inside. It's cold out," I didn't realize how cold it was until Canada mentioned it. I began to shiver. Canada helped me up and walked me over to the front door where America was waiting.

Inside we sat in the living room together until the doorbell rang. America, as always, answered the door. France stepped into the house and whispered something to America. She must have told him to turn on the kettle or something because he went to straight to the kitchen.

France took a seat next to me. My face was still wet from tears but I tried my best to hold back the flood behind my eyes.

"You don't have to be strong all the time, Australia, it's okay to cry"  France picked me up and placed me on her lap. She hugged tightly. Usually, I would protest against this but, something about this hug made me feel safe, made me feel warm. I couldn't hold the tears back anymore and they started flowing down my face.

"I don't want him to go, not after what he has done for me," I whimpered through the waterfall of tears.

"Don't worry, my dear, he will be back, and he will be safe," France said softly.

Canada was sitting on the couch next to mine. He was sitting quietly twiddling his fingers as he always does when he's nervous. America came back into the living room with a tray of four hot chocolates. He set the try of the coffee table and picked up a mug. He handed the mug to Canada and then offered one to me.

I was still trapped in France's embrace so I wriggled free and sat next to her. I grabbed the mug of hot chocolate and took a sip. I could see France giving me a reassuring smile out of the corner of my eye as she picked up a mug of her own.

We sat in silence for a couple of hours. I was tired but, I didn't want to fall asleep. Not yet. Suddenly I heard a buzz come from France. She picked up her phone and read something. Probably a text. She sighed and texted a message back.

"Was it Dad?" America asked.

"Yes," she said simply, "Now you all should head to bed,". She sent us upstairs. She followed me to my room and tucked me into bed. Before she left she sat on the bed next to me.

"I am sorry for killing Stevie today. I just wanted to protect my family. And New Zealand," She sighed.

"Is Kiwi alright?" I asked feeling tired and emotionally drained.

"Yes, he is doing well," She said softly, "We can visit him in the morning, after breakfast if you would like?" I just nodded. France leaned in closer and kissed my forehead.

"Goodnight, son"

New Zealand's POV:

I didn't remember much from the previous night, only the large amount of blood coming out of my wrist and the terrified expression of my brother as I gave into the darkness.

I woke up in a white bed. Next to me was UK, who was sitting on a chair with his head fast asleep on the bed. I tried to sit up but I realized UK had been holding my hand. I continued to lie in the bed looking at my surroundings. There was a large stand holding a bag of dark red blood. But what creeped me out, even more, was that there was a thin tube coming from the bag and leading straight into my hand. I panicked for a second deciding whether or not I pull it out.

UK then woke up and squeezed my hand. I winced in pain. UK immediately let go of my hand relieving me of the pain in my wrist.

"OH, so sorry, are you okay New Zealand?" his voice was full of concern. I just nodded and looked at my wrist. It neatly bandaged in white cloth.

"They had to close the wound with stitches," UK said noticing my curiosity.

"Where am I?" I asked wanting to get some more information about my surroundings.

"You are in hospital" UK answered me.

"What is hospital?" I said completely confused at my current situation.

"Have you never heard of a hospital before?" UK asked. I shook my head in response.

"Oh, well the hospital is a place you go when you are hurt badly" He explained.

"I am hurt badly?" I looked back at my wrist. I felt scared

"No, no, no," He said trying to reassure me.

"Then why am I here?" UK was about to answer when the door opened and a man dressed in a light blue outfit came in with others following behind him.

"KIWI!" I hardly got time to react as Aussie ran up to my bed. He looked happy to see me at first but then, his face filled with worry as looked at me. America stole the seat UK was sitting on and started asking me questions. Canada just stood there next France and the man in the blue outfit.

UK was also standing with France now talking to the other man. I could only just make out what they were saying. It was something along the lines of: "He can be released today, but only after one last check-up", "okay but what if the wound reopens?", "Bring him back here and I can close it again".

"Well?" I hardly noticed America talking to me when I finally zoned back into his conversation.

"Huh?" I said stupidly.

"Are. You. Going. To. Live?" America sounded out every word in the sentence.

"Of course he is going to live" Australia snapped back.

"Geez, I was just asking" America rolled his eyes.

Not too long passed and the man in the blue outfit had ushered everyone out. He walked over to me and started asking questions.

"How do you feel?"

"Aright, I guess," I answered him.

"Does your wrist still hurt?"

"Only a little bit,"

"How did you cut your wrist?"

"I-" I cut myself off knowing that if I told him how I cut my wrist, UK would get in trouble.

"I don't know" I lied.

"Okay, it's alright for not knowing," the man said kindly, "but are you sure you don't know?". I didn't know how to respond so I just sat there looking worried.

"It's okay," the man said again. He walked to the other side of the bed and told me to close my eyes. I felt him lift my other hand, the one with the weird tube going into it.

"Ow!" I squealed in pain as I felt the tube come out. I opened my eyes to see the man put an orange bandaid over the old entry point of the tube.

"You are very brave" he said as he wheeled the stand into the corner of the room. He walked back over to me and pulled out a green lollypop and handed it to me. He left the room as I sat on the bed with the lollypop in my mouth.

I am very brave.
