I sat on the end of Blue's bed, she moved down so that we were sitting next to each other. I looked into her eyes and I could tell she was broken. We sat there in silence fore a couple seconds, I slowly pulled the picture out of my pocket. She snatched it from my hands before she put it under her leg making me feel like she was hiding it from me. Maybe all this time she knew I was her mother I thought looking straight ahead of me. I then looked down a Blue to see she was tryin to avoid eye contact with me.
"Do you know what that picture is" I asked her. She then looked up at me and for a split second it looked like she was scared of me. I swallowed the limp in my throat wiping the tear that were threatening to fall down my cheeks. She looked up at me then she whipping my other cheek, when she did that my demeanor changed I became way more relaxed with her.
"So what's your name sweetheart?" I asked and she looked up at me.
"I'm Blue Ivy Miraj, what about you lady" she asked and I could see she was trying to keep her cool, it was like she had all these emotions but instead she just sat there with a unreadable face.
"I'm Beyoncé Giselle Knowles" I said and her head snapped up at me. She then pulled the picture slowly from under her wounded leg, she sat there looking at the picture for a second. I moved my hand to touch her leg making her jump a bit, she looked at my hand but she didn't move it she sat there looking at the picture. As we sat in silence she turned her head to look at me, as she looked at me she took her hand and outlined the features of my face.
As she touched my face it was like, one of this feelings were you finally touch something you have always wanted to for the first time. I felt the love with every touch sent to my face, the atmosphere was calm. I felt her touch my nose then run her fingers through my hair, I opened my eyes to see her face in front of me. She guided my head down to look at the picture, she then pointed to me on the picture and I nodded. She then looked at me smiling before she wrapped both her arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms around her tiny fragile body. I felt her kissing my cheek making me chuckle I pulled away from her and looked into her eyes before I kissed her forehead. We stayed like this until she spoke up
"Why did you leave me" She asked looking at me and I can't say it didn't catch me by surprise.
"I didn't baby someone took you away from me" I said looking at me and her frown became deeper
"Why didn't you look for me?" She asked with her lip quivering
"I did, me and your sister did, even my mother looked. No one could find you" I said looking at her tiny body, she looked very underweight for her age. As we sat there I looked at her beautiful long hair, it's thick just like mine.
"Where were you?" I asked her
"Well ever since I could remember I grew up in this stone room, everyday this woman would come in and give me food. Small amounts though and all I had with me was my dog Roscoe. Then for my 7th birthday they gave me a cake, it least I think it was it wasn't sweet though. I've never tasted what people call sugar, until you gave me that lemonade. Roscoe bit the scary people and while everyone was down we ran away. I had nowhere to go and no family so I stayed at the park, but one day Roscoe wasn't there so I looked for him and the last house or houses was this one. You opened the door and he was here, a little later as I sat at the park I kept thinking about you. I thought it was you in the picture but I didn't come back because your pregnant." She said looking down at her feet
"But your my baby, why would you think that?" I said to her
"Because you already have kids" she said. I pulled her into my lap. She sat on my lap and she hugged me, she rested her head in my neck. I felt something wet so I started to sing to her, this went on for about 5 minutes until I felt her breathing slow down and I knew she was sleep. I went to the top of the bed and I laid down with her still in the same position with her arms around my neck. I layer on my back so she was on my chest and stomach, my head was a mile per minute.
I slid my hands under her shirt and laid them on her bare back. I rubbed up and down her back but then I felt something. They were everywhere on her back, and I felt her ribs as my hands sat there. As I thought about my big family I thanked god that all my children were back home and safe.
