Both my suspension and the weekend seemed to fly by. When my home got home last week and saw my face she was like
"What happened to your face?!"
And I lied saying "Oh I was going fast down a hill and ran into a pole"
I don't think she really believed me but she didn't push it and my dad being a real one didn't tell her I got suspended or got in a fight. So she went the rest of the week continuing to wake me up to go to school which I couldn't do so I just got ready and went to Carmen's house. And Carmen spent the weekend at mine. Now it's Tuesday and I have to go back to school with all these annoying ass nosy people.
When I got up this morning I went to turn the shower on and sat in my in front of my closet mirror debating on whether or not I should even go to school today. I force myself up and get into the shower stepping into the warm water falling from the shower head. I stand under the faucet and feel the water sink into my hair pouring over my face. I stare at the wall trying to let the water relax my already irritated nerves. This shower is nice but it's not really working for me.
I get out the shower wrapping my towel around me and go explore my closet. After about five minutes of grabbing and throwing clothes on the floor, I finally choose some black shorts, white tube top, and red and white striped button up shirt on top. I put my black high top converse. I comb my hair out and put it in a high ponytail. After brushing my teeth I sigh grabbing my backpack and force my feet downstairs.
When I get downstairs my dad in the kitchen drinking coffee and typing on his laptop. I slump into one of the seats at the island.
"Going to school?"
My eyes and body perk up.
"Do I have the option not to?"
My dad laughs.
"No, that was rhetorical"
I slump back down and pout at him.
"Haha very funny. Where's mom?"
"Hospital, where else?"
My dad is a Travel journalist so he's always late at the office, leaving early or out on trips and my moms a nurse. While I work at Baskin Robbins. They must be so proud of me.
I groan and slide out my seat grabbing my keys on my way out.
"Okay well, I'm going to school unless I don't have to," I say my voice full of hope, giving my dad puppy dog eyes.
"Bye Ali"
"Fine, bye"
When I get out of the house I sigh and whine a little on the porch before stomping down the three steps and get in my car speeding past Ethan's house without giving it a glance.
Right, when I'm about to get to school I take a detour and go to Starbucks instead in an effort to put off school for a little longer. I order three Vanilla Bean frappuccinos and then go to school.I get to school and see Carmen and Amy already there sitting on the steps on their phones.
Seeing them makes me feel a little better but I'm still not in the mood and want to go home.
Amy sees my first and points me out to Carmen. I go up to them and give them their drinks and Carmen engulfs me in a hug as if I didn't spend the last like five days with her and Amy thanks me and we do our regular handshake.
"Oh, so what'd we miss?" Carmen asks Amy who is already slurping down her drink.
"Nothing really that you don't already know, just people talking about you guys"
"Of course they are" Carmen rolls her eyes.
I tune out of the conversation and try to find any signs of Ethan because I don't really want to run into him.
"Hello, Ali" Carmen waves her hand in my face bringing me back to reality.
"Huh. What?" I give my attention back to her.
"Who are you looking for?"
"Uh, Ethan. Have either of you seen him?" both Carmen and Amy shake their head no. I silently celebrate but still keep an eye out for him.
As we walk around campus we run into our friend Izzie.
"Hey guys" Izzies chirps happily.
"Hi" I mumble while Carmen and Amy just wave.
"What's wrong with you?" Izzie asks me.
"She had a fight with Ethan" Amy answers for me and I just stand there.
"Oh I didn't know you guys were together" Izzie laughs.
"We're not" I basically shout.
"It's okay, I have something that I'm sure will make you feel better" Izzie smiles.
"Follow me" she motions for Carmen, Amy and I to come.
Izzies leads us to an isolated bathroom no one really uses, Carmen, Amy and I go to the nearest bathroom.
"Now I know you don't drink and I don't have any alcohol on me anyway but I do have this" Izzie pulls out a wax pen.
"No what are you doing? she can't have that at school have you seen her high" Carmen says to Izzie.
"Woah I'm fine" I defend myself and hold out my hand for Izzie to hand me her pen.
Carmen and Amy shake their heads at Izzie and I glare at both of them as Izzie places her pen in my hand and I go into a stall.
"I should probably warn you that it might hit differently than a joint or blunt would," Izzie says through the door.
"Got it"
I start taking big hits which resulted in me coughing up my entire life in the stall. While I'm dying in here Carmen, Amy and Izzie talk amongst themselves. After I took about six of those I finally exit the stall stoned out of my mind with a huge relaxed smile spread across my face. I walk over silently to them with my hands clasped together behind my back watching my friends watch me.
"Izzie can I use that?" Carmen asks.
"Me too," Amy says.
"You guys smoke?" Izzie asks handing her pen off again.
"No, but Ali will most likely listen to us if we're on the same plain as her" Carmen explains.
I nod my head in agreement.
Carmen and Amy each take a couple of hits and so does Izzie soon enough all four of us are high.
"Oh my god, I forgot I don't have a class with you right now, Amy can you watch her when you guys get to cl-" Carmen gets cut off by the bell, telling us school has started. "-ass" she sighs and looks at me shaking her head before hugging me and saying
" I love you. Be good" and leaves.
"What am I a fucking child? I don't need to be babysat." I call after her.
"Just because we're high doesn't mean we can't function" Izzie adds and I nod my head.
I look at Amy, trying to pull my eyelids up higher and looks back at me.
"Do you want to go to first?" she asks.
I shake my head.
"Not really"
"Good neither do I. Math is not the move"
I shake my head again in agreement.
"It's really not, are you going Izzie?"
"Yeah I can't be late or I get Saturday School," she says.
"Okay bye and thanks for this" I wave my hand over my face smiling.
"No problem, bye," Izzies says and leaves.
"Sis are you okay you can't even hold your head up, you look like a 2-week old baby" Amy laughs.
I suddenly feel tired and not wanting to talk so I grab my phone trying to focus on the screen as I open Snapchat and find Amy's name.
Me- Idek
When Amy's phone goes off and she sees my name she drops my hand to her side and looks up at the ceiling.
"I know you did not just text me right now. I know you didn't"I giggle and stumble tripping over air but catch myself on the sink. I lean on it and start typing lazily.
Me- I did I really did
"Fine. I'll play your little game Ali" Amy sighs and opens her phone.
AAAAAMY- Ooo I forgot to tell you sum
I look up at her once more questionally. If it has anything to do with Ethan I don't want to hear it and Amy knows this. I already told her and Carmen about Ethan and I's dispute. So she knows I'm not that great at the moment. I don't know why I'm affected so much. Why am I so emotional over that stupid little fight anyway, it's not like we're even together. Honestly, I don't even think you can really call us friends. I haven't shed tears over a guy in years so how Ethan got me to do it even if they were angry sad mixed emotion ones after being around me for like two weeks boggles my mind.

Amy smiles and begins typing.
