Jihyun's POV
It had been six days since Baekhyun confessed to me. Six days since he started to court me. Things have changed, but merely slightly. It is like there is not even a change at all.
Baekhyun proudly told the boys and Heeji immediately and all of them started to tease is since day one. Except for Chanyeol of course but he did say he is cool with it.
Baekhyun grew sweeter and it didn't bother me a bit. He also become more protective than ever and he takes me out a lot also when we have the time. He also got more cheesy than ever. Aside from that, nothing else changed.
I can currently in the kitchen, cooking us breakfast as quiet as possible. I woke up earlier than usual because I slept earlier last night too. So the boys are still asleep. While they are I decided to make them some breakfast.
"What a beautiful view."
"Ah!!" I exclaimed, slightly shaking the pan I have in my hand as I jumped.
With a frown, I turned to the entrance of the kitchen. "Baekhyun! Don't sneak up to me like that!" I hissed with a small pout.
He giggles playfully, walking up to me. "Good morning, beautiful."
I rolled my eyes. "I have a name."
"Yeah - Beautiful."
"Just when Kai stopped calling me 'babe'," I sighed.
"What are you making??"
"Cheese omelets."
"With extra cheese?"
"Of course," I nodded. "I know how much you guys like it that way."
I heard him chuckle which made me throw a glance at him. That is when I have realized he is already in his uniform.
"You're up early? You were just asleep as a woke up," I stated.
"Chanyeol called us. He said we have something important to talk about," he answered. "But we would stay here until breakfast. We have to go right after."
I just hummed shortly as a response since I was busy fixing all the omelets on the plate and turned the stove off.
"That means no one would be here with you."
I turned to him and he was pouting. That made me smile.
"I will be fine, Baekhyun," I assured him.
He sighed, looking serious now as he held my hand which made my cheeks flush. "Promise me you will head straight to school as soon as possible? I don't like it when you're alone."
"I promise." I smiled. "Now go get the others while I set the table so you guys can head off as soon as possible."
"You're like pushing me away."
"Baekhyun!"
He just laughed and jogged his way out. I shook my head, smiling at his silliness.
Like what I have said, I quickly set the table so that they can eat as soon as possible.
Finally, they all flooded in the kitchen and we started eating.
"What do you think will Chanyeol tell us about?" Luhan asks, opening a conversation as we ate.
"I don't know," Chen shrugged. "But he did sound serious though."
"I am quite excited to find out," Baekhyun adds, his excitement evident on his grin.
"Whatever it would be, let's eat quickly so we would find out faster," Lay tells them
D.O. sighed which turned all heads to him. "Sorry... I just sort of have a bad feeling about what he would say."
"You're so negative," Chen tells him.
D.O. gives him a small frown. "I am not. It is just a feeling."
"A negative feeling," Chen corrects.
After that, we just finished our breakfast and the boys headed off.
I quickly did the dishes then brushed my teeth. After that I took a quick bath and got ready for school.
When I was all set, I left immediately like what I promised Baekhyun. It was ss bit early still so I decided to head to the library.
"Good morning, Mr. Soo," I greeted the new librarian.
He smiled, looking up to me and greeted back, "Good morning, Jihyun. You're here early."
I nodded and placed down the books I have in my hand on his table. "I came by to bring back the books I have borrowed."
"And let me guess... Get new ones, right?"
I chuckled. "Seems like it, Mr. Soo."
The latter chuckles as well, opening the first book. "Well, go ahead then, I will handle these."
I bowed. "Thank you, Mr. Soo."
I turned from him and headed to the shelves to find something good to read and found three medium-sized books - one about history, the other two about science. I brought them to Mr. Soo for him to check before I exited the library and headed to my locker where I would put these books in.
Once I arrived, I unlocked my locker and neatly inserted the books along with my other stuffs in it.
"Jihyun!"
As I shut the locker door, my head turned to Baekhyun who is running towards me.
"Jihyun!"
I was then immediately brought to his arms as he arrived. I can feel how fast and strong his heart was beating at the moment. "Jihyun, are you alright? Nothing happened with you, right??"
My brows furrowed by the way he was acting. He looked so worried and troubled. "I am fine, Baekhyun..." I told him. "What's wrong??"
"They're back."
That got me confused, even more. "They're back?? Who's back??"
"Don't confuse her too much, Baekhyun... She doesn't even know them," a voice spoke from behind Baekhyun. Chanyeol soon went beside him, looking at me in the eye saying, "Don't worry much about it. It's nothing."
"What do you mean it's nothing?? Chanyeol this thing is serious," Suho butts in.
Soon, every one if my friends are with us - the boys and Heeji. The latter went right beside me and wrapped an arm around my waist. I noticed how each of them looked troubled, worried and serious like how Baekhyun did earlier.
"They're back and we're not ready. That is a serious thing," Kris adds.
Why can't they tell me who's back??
"How can you be sure it is them, hyung?" Tao asks.
"Ugh! Guys," Heeji groaned. "Jihyun is right here and we're still talking about this?"
That offended me slightly. It was like I am not supposed to hear anything about it or have anything to do about it.
"We're confusing her, can't you see that? Let's talk about it some time else when she already knows."
"'When she already knows'?" Chanyeol questions, repeating just what Heeji said. "Heeji, we can't let her know."
"Why can't you??" I asked him.
"Because we cannot get you in trouble, alright??" Chanyeol responded which shocked me a bit
"Trouble? What trouble??"
The bell rang signalling that we have to go. Unfortunately, I cannot ask them more further because they started to walk away.
"Let's go, Jihyun," Baekhyun tells me softly, wrapping an arm around my waist.
This time, his touch felt different. As if he wanted to protect me.
I bit my lip at the thought of who is back. What trouble are they talking about? Why is this so serious?
I am too curious.

After all that, we just continued the day as normal as possible. But they were all uncomfortably quiet most of the times. Though some tries to lighten up the mood, it was just not enough. They were still so serious... They still looked troubled.
And as much as Heeji and the boys tried to show me that it is fine, it was just obvious that it isn't.
Why can't they just tell me? Because they don't want to get me in trouble? I just don't understand. That answer's not even the least bit enough. It will never be.
So, without getting satisfied we went home.
While I was busy reading on the couch, waiting for D.O. to come and say, "Let's cook," like he always does.
But this time was different.
I turned as I heard footsteps only to see the five of them all heading towards the door.
"Wait... Where are you guys going?" I asked.
"Just somewhere," Luhan answers shortly.
"What do you mean somewhere?"
"We will be back home by dinner, Jihyun, so don't worry," D.O. says, completely ignoring my question. "We would be taking out some food from a restaurant so that you wouldn't tire yourself cooking though."
"Jihyun, make sure to lock everything while we're gone, alright?" Baekhyun tells me and I nodded. "If you want you can go to our room and rest."
"I will see about that."
They all bid their goodbyes before wearing their masks, caps and some put the hoods of their jacket on. That was when I noticed that they were really wrapped up, as if hiding their faces.
I just kept my mouth shut, deciding to keep the questions that are currently flooding my brain to myself. As soon as they left, I sighed and closed the book shut.
I am really curious. I want to know everything from who is back and the troubles they are talking about. And also why those guys are going out looking like that.
I headed to the bedroom right after making sure everything is locked like Baekhyun said. Then I turned the lights off in the other rooms to save electricity before heading to the bedroom, plopping my body right down on the bed.
I suddenly started to feel drowsy and my eyes fluttered shut. I am probably tired from all those works from school. Baekhyun's idea of resting is really helpful.

I soon woke up when I felt like it. I just stayed like that in my position, my eyes open and staring at the blank ceiling.
Then I heard the front door open. From here, I can hear the muffled voice of the five boys. I can even hear Lay asking, "Where's, Jihyun?"
I suddenly had the urge to pretend to sleep. I don't know why but my gut says I should. So I did.
As soon as I closed my eyes, the door flew open. And in a few seconds it closed once again.
I slowly and slyly opened both my eyes. The room was empty.
I slowly got off the bed and exited the room trying not to make any noise. I just hid at the hallway and heard their conversation.
"I cannot believe they are really back," I can hear Luhan say.
God! Who is this 'they' that are back?? I want to know so bad.
"You have to believe it, hyung. We already saw for ourselves," Chen replied.
"Why are they back though? Haven't we already beat them before?" I heard Lay ask.
Beat them before?
"We did not completely beat them. They did not even surrendered! They just ran away and disappeared for the rest of the years," D.O. answers. "And now they are back. Probably for revenge."
"But one thing I noticed though... Some of them are pretty unfamilliar... We know that jerk, he never gets someone new in his group," Baekhyun says.
"What if he got new men? Stronger men? Even more than he ever had before?" Chen adds. I can really sense the tone of worry in their voices.
"Then we are in big trouble," Luhan states, sounding a bit more calm than the others like Lay. "But we cannot fight them back anymore. We have lost it. We stopped for three years after they left and you know that. We focused on something more different and forgot that side of us. We lost it all."
That side of them? They stopped for three years?? They lost what? They stopped what? And what side of them are they talking about??
"I am really worried right now..." I heard Baekhyun sigh. "Not only for us... But for Jihyun also. What if we get her into this mess?"
"Hyung, that would never happen," Chen tells him comfortingly.
"I hope not... But what if there are spies? What if they see Jihyun with us and target her? I wouldn't let that happen but that would mean we have to stay away from her."
I gulped.
Stay away from them?
"I don't want to stay away from her... I can't stay away from her..." I heard Baekhyun utter. "But I would kill myself if we get her in trouble."
"We are not so sure about that spy thing, Baek. Let us hope there aren't," Lay says. "As long as she knows nothing about this then she would be safe. Let us not make it obvious to her so that she wouldn't get more curious."
"How wouldn't she get more curious if she is currently standing in a corner listening to our conversation??"
My heart nearly dropped when I heard what D.O. said.
"Get out if there, Jihyun. I know you're there."
I did what I was told, gaping at D.O. "...How do you know I was standing there all along?" I asked him.
"I just know. I can feel it." he shrugged. "Plus, you were never sleeping when I checked you in the bedroom. You look tensed earlier."
This guy really...
"Well... Since I have already heard everything maybe you can tell me what is going on," I said. But they all just stared at me, looking unsure.
"Jihyun..." Baekhyun stood up and held me by my hand. "We wouldn't want to get you in trouble."
"I already heard too much to be just curious to know what is happening with you guys," I replied. "Plus, I am a tough girl. Give me any trouble you know and I would face it and conquer it."
He sighed, "Jihyun, this is not just any type of problem you can handle - We can handle."
He looked really serious at that moment. But I still felt curious, as if that trouble thing they are talking about is just completely nothing to me in ntil they tell me about what kind of trouble it is.
Wait... That's it! That should be the question I am asking... Or I probably shouldn't because I would get more curious.
But since I am hard-headed, I asked, "What sort of trouble is it?"
"A big one."
I sighed. "Can't you really tell me? Maybe if you would I could sort of help---"
"No," Baekhyun cuts me off. "I don't want you to help---"
"Help myself get out of this trouble," I interrupted him.
He just stared at me before turning to the boys. They just stared at him also. Then he returned his gaze back to me.
"I can't tell you."
"Oh, come on, Baek---"
"But Chanyeol can."
