Anywayyyy enough talking, let's get on to the story......
Chapter 4: The Vocalist or The Player

Tuesday, January 7th 1:30 pm.
I made my way to the music room since there isn't much to do for free period considering that my three other friends had other classes. I sat on one of the circular seats and took a guitar that looked like someone spray painted on it but looked good at the same time. It's been awhile since I've played a song on a guitar but I started to strum the tune of the last song I've played which was Jocelyn Flores by XXXTentatation.
"I know you so well, so well. I mean I can do anything he can. I've been pretty......" I got to the chorus when I heard someone clapping behind me. I turned my position to see Zach leaning against the door frame with a grin on his face.
He sat on the seat next to me and turned to face me. "Hey rockstar. Jocelyn Flores right?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm not as good as you though," I replied and he playfully rolled his eyes
"Why don't you audition for X4?" He asked and I shrugged. "Don't tell me you're gonna join b-ball."
"What? No course not. Captain Jerk doesn't want me on the team," I explained and let out a sigh
It's true though. Even though I bet him I know that he was bluffing about the whole 'I'll be on the team if I beat him' thing. I wonder when Mr. Fox will get tired of asking me whether I want to join the team or not. He's been asking ever since he saw me shoot from the halfway line during freshman year.
"Jerk doesn't but coach does. I still think you'd make a sick vocalist," He nudged me and I gave him a sly smile
I rolled my eyes before I replied. "Alright Parker. I'll audition but I might not get in."
"Wow. I, Zach Parker got the smartest and uncontrolable girl aka Camila Evans to finally sing again," He said and I rolled my eyes
"Don't flatter yourself Zach," was all I said before Zach and I left the music room together.

Zach and I entered the auditorium with the guitar I was playing slung on me with a black strap. I spotted Xian, Jared and Kyle seated behind a table with serious looks on their faces. Other people who I don't recognise was seated on white plastic chairs in front of the guys' table while a brunette girl playing a song on a ukelele was standing in front of the three X4 members.
Zach had to sit with them but before he left me, he handed me a folded white piece of paper. I opened it up which said:

I smiled at the note before stuffing it in my pocket. Without warning, someone called me by my name. I turned to see the four members of X4 beaming at me.
"Cami, glad to see you're finally auditioning," Jared said. "You're up."
"W-what? But I just got here," I replied with a confused look on my face
"Stage is yours Mil," Xian said gesturing to the small space in front of them
I did what I was told and walked up in front of the four guys I usually see grinning but are now serious.
Wow. They really do take music seriously.
I took a vacant seat and placed it next to me to sit on it before I started strumming the tune to Jocelyn Flores. The chattering fadded away the moment I sang the first line. I felt all eyes on me as I sang my way through the song.
"I can do anything he can. I've been pretty," Once I sang the last line out, Xian, Zach and the two other guys stood up and applauded loudly. I could hear the applause of the audience behind me which gave me a pang of confidence.
I put the chair back to where it was before and walked back to my seat. Everyone started chattering again before Zach stood up and silenced everyone. I felt my heart drumming in my chest feeling my nervousness coming back again.
"Alright, listen up everyone. The guys and I have decided who our new vocalist is. And that is............ Camila Evans!" Zach announced and my mouth hung open
What?! IM their new vocalist?!!
The audience started clapping but the celebration was interrupted when the front doors opened and the room went silent when everyone spotted the one and only Jerk, Ryder.
"She's our new power forward Parker," He said glaring straight at Zach
Zach made his way to Ryder and stopped when they were a foot apart. "She's our new vocalist James."
I walked over to stand next to Zach and shot a glare at Ryder. "Back off Ryder. You never even wanted me on your team." I chimed in and Jerk rolled his eyes
"You're in the team Evans," Ryder said in a bored tone
"You clearly don't want me on the team so what's the point?" In my annoyance, I stormed out of the auditorium.

I parked my red ferrari on Blake's driveway and slammed the door shut. I jogged up to the front door and let myself in. Knowing the doofus, I walked up the stairs and opened the door to his room.
Blake looked up from his phone. "Dude, what the heck?" I rolled my eyes at his comment and sat on the chair next to his bed where he laid. "Lemme guess, it's either you almost set the school on fire or daddy's home."
"This girl pisses me off. Coach forced me to ask her to be on the team just coz she bet me once," I explained slamming my fist on his desk in front of me
I looked over at my best friend who looked shocked. "Whoa, an actual girl that hates the Ryder James? Must be the chick that threw a book at your head," he said and I rolled my eyes. "Who's she anyway?"
"Miles' little sister," I said through my gritted teeth. Blake didn't seem to be shocked at the information. "That obvious huh."
"Not surprised dude, I went over to the Evans once and hit on that chick. Let's just say it didn't end well since she almost punched my teeth out," He explained which took me by surprise.
Wow, that girl isn't only annoying she's also violent. I thought
"I don't care how violent she can be Blake. I wanna know how to get her on the team," I said and let out a frustrated sigh
"Dude it's easy to get her to do what you want. Girls practically fall at your feet, how hard can it be?" Blake explained and I rolled my eyes at his stupidness
"Are you blind? Can't you see that she's not a girl?" I said my voice raising
"Trust me bro, she's got a weak spot," he thought for a second and snapped his fingers which meant he thought of something. "I've got an idea."
"What the hell are you waiting for? Tell me," I said eagerly
At this point I admit, I'm getting desperate. Coach Fox wanted me to get Evans on the team or else I get kicked off as captain. I did what I always do and threatened him that if I get off the team, dad will fire him but my father doesn't want anything to do with it. This means I'm willing to do any fucking thing just to get that annoying girl on the team.
"Isn't it obvious? You have to make her like you," he blurted out and I raised a brow at him. "Think about it dude, if you pretend that you want to be friends with her then she'll probably want to be on the team."
"What if that doesn't work?" I asked and Blake let out a smirk
"Do your thing man. Make Camila Evans fall in love with you," He said which made a smirk creep on my face
As much as I hate the word love I'm willing to do anything to stay as captain on the basketball team. Even if it means I have to make the most annoying girl in the world fall for me.
"It's official then. I have to make Camila Evans fall for me and once I get her on the team, I'll tell her it's all part of my plan," I said with a smirk on my face
And that's the perfect revenge.......
