The new Bloodlines book was due to come out soon. Damn, I'll tell you what. I love Vampire Academy. I've loved Vampire Academy for quite some time. I decided a while ago that I wouldn't read the Bloodlines series until a few more came out, then I could read them all in one go-
"Ouch!" It only took a second for me to realise that I'd walked in to someone and almost taken a bookshelf down with me. Whoever it was that knocked me down was going to pay- they'd just knocked the entire series from my hands to the floor. Who did they think they were- oh. I glanced up from the floor and pushed my glasses up. My wide eyes grew even larger and my jaw dropped- a lot. His blue eyes were forgiving, and almost sympathetic. My heart was pounding as I realised I was still lying on the floor, swimming in a sea of Vampire-Teen Fiction. A moment passed and he slowly, and tentatively, extended his arm towards me. My beating heart was still having an effect my judgements, causing them to fog over, but I realised that I should probably take his offer.
"I, um, I'm... Um... Sorry I didn't mean to, um, walk into you." I mumbled while grabbing his hand and hauling myself up.
"Here, let me get these for you." He squatted down and gathered my books. In the meantime, I just stood there, fascinated by his bone structure, the way the light reflected off every edge of his face, his shiny black hair that flopped into his eyes, him. I'd never felt like this before, it was stunning. Before I could continue my thoughts, he rose back up and handed me the pile. He was tall- very tall. He was at least 6'1- no 6'2 at least. And he was gorgeous. Up close, his face was even more godly and beautiful than it was from the floor. "You have a good taste in books." As he smiled, the corners of his mouth turned up and created tiny creases just beneath his cheek bones.
"Hah, um... Thanks... Um, you've read this?" My palms were sweating and I was pretty sure that I was about to pass out.
"Not this one, but a few of hers. Well, sorry I walked into you." I didn't even know his name, but I knew that I was desperate to see him again.

A few days later I returned to the library, and he was there. That gorgeous, blue eyes beauty, was lying in the corner of the library with an Encyclopaedia on his head- no doubt trying to get some sleep. I have no idea what came over me, but I sat beside him and slowly laid down. Stirring almost instantly, his face turned towards me, tossing the book in my direction.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't see you there- wait. What are you doing here?" My cheeks flushed as he spoke to me, and I felt embarrassed.
"I just... Um... I wanted to show you something." No, I panicked. I wanted to lay beside him as he slept and stare at his face, but that sounds weird. His face lifted and the concern faded. I took the encyclopaedia from him and flicked to a random page. "Kansas, that sounds like a cool state." I giggled. His laugh was beautiful and full of life, joy and excitement. Jezzz- he was gorgeous.
"We're not in Kansas any more, um... What's your name?" I panicked. I didn't know his name. He didn't know mine. This was it. THIS IS THE MOMENT THAT I LEARNED HIS NAME. Composing myself, I spoke confidently, yet quietly in order to comply with the Library rules.
"Y/N. Yours?"
"Phil, you know Y/N is a really pretty name." Okay so I died a little.
"Phil, it's nice to meet you." We spoke for a while before I had to leave, he gave me his number and promised that he'd come back another day, that he'd come back for me.

Except, he never did. Everytime we promised to meet up, something came up for him, so I'd go to the library alone and enjoy my own company. However, when you know that you could have a gorgeous blue eyed boy as your company, you don't seem too impressive. I waited for weeks to see him again, but I gave up. He had ditched me, just like every other book character ran off, Phil did too. But with every book, the main character always comes across her star crossed lover again, isn't that how fiction works?

It seems that's how real life worked too. In one of my weekly book checks, I realised that the Vampire Academy series was missing, and I was filled with the slightest pang of hope- that Phil had taken them. He did say that he had only read a few, and Richelle Mead had written many books. My hopes were confirmed when I saw a black fringe sitting in the back corner of the library. Controlling myself, I half-walked half-ran to his side.
"Where have you been at, Dimitri?" His eyes flicked up, obviously irritated. But his irritation quickly dulled, and he threw me a perfect smile.
"Trying to read to impress you." My heart fluttered out of my chest. Oh. My. God. This was happening.
"You didn't need to do that. In fact," I said raising an eyebrow. "You shouldn't have done that." Anxiety and regret flushed through his face.
"Sorry..." He looked truly upset. Oops.
"Not without me." I sat beside him and nudged his shoulder. "I've been missing you for a while, I thought you ditched me." He chuckled and nudged me back, tossing an arm over my shoulder.
"I wouldn't do that, anyway, every character that leaves comes back eventually. And as long as it's okay with you, I'm not planning on going anywhere."
"It's always okay with me. Now," I said, tucking my head into his chest as he pulled me closer. "Let's finish this series," I laced my fingers into his. "Together." Once more, he pulled me closer. He tilted his head to me before looking back at the book.
"Together."
