Chapter 16
{Lucy P.O.V.}
“The doctor will be here in a minute, Lucy.” My mom said.
“Okay.” I said.
A few minutes later, the doctor and my mother returned.
“Hello Lucy, I’m Dr. Brand.” He said.
“Hi.” I said shyly.
“I’m going to cut the chase here, you broke 2 ribs and obviously, you are pretty cut up and bruised.”
I nodded my head as he went on, “You claimed you fell down the stairs, correct?”
“Yeah.”
“Explain to me how you got this cut up by fall down a flight of stairs?”
“The stairs were pointy…?” I said as more of a question.
“Lucy.” Mom said in a stern tone.
“It’s the truth!” I pleaded.
“It looks as if you were cut by a knife.” The doctor said. Ok, I really want to punch him in the face.
“Lucy, tell me what really happened.” Mom demanded.
I took a moment to contemplate whether or not I should tell her my ex- boyfriend kidnapped me then his henchman turned to be the real bad guy.
“I fell down a flight of stairs. Ask Stiles.” I said.
“It’s not any of my business what really happened so, I’ll give your mom all your papers and you can leave.” The doctor said as he left.
“Tell me.” She said.
“Ask Stiles! I fell!”
“Lucy, that boy would jump over the moon for you. I can’t believe what he says.”
I gave her a look then she sighed and said, “Fine. Go home.”
I hugged her then went out into the waiting room where Jen, Jackson, and Stiles were.
Stiles jumped up and ran over to me, “Are you okay?”
“Yup, just 2 cracked ribs.”
“Going to kill him.” He sang in a weird tune.
I chuckled at him as Jen and Jackson came over to us.
“Before you ask, yes I’m fine. Just a couple cracked ribs.” I said.
“I still can’t believe you were kidnapped!” Jen said a little too loudly.
“Shut up!” Stiles hissed.
“Let’s go before her big mouth gets us in trouble.” I said.
We left the hospital and drove Jackson home.
“Thanks for the ride.” Jackson said when he got out.
Stiles rolled his eyes then lazily waved at him.
I began to close my door but Jackson stopped it and asked, “Lucy, can I talk to you for a minute? In private.”
“No, you can’t talk to her.” Stiles said.
I shot him a look then walked with Jackson a little ways.
“So, I just wanted to say I’m really sorry for everything. You know, having someone kidnap you, torture you, and calling you a bitch when I was the one who messed our relationship up in the first place.” Jackson said in a surprisingly sincere tone.
“Why did you do it?” I asked.
“I actually felt really guilty after I hit you. I don’t even know why I did it. And well.. the kidnapping wasn’t even my idea.” He explained.
I nodded my head telling him to go on.
“When Peter approached me about it, he said he wasn’t going to hurt you. He just wanted to use you to get Scott to do something for him. Then my dad found out about it and basically forced me to help Peter because they were old friends.”
“Wow..” I said more to myself than him.
“Yeah so, I was wondering…”
Oh god.
“Wondering what?” I asked suspiciously.
“I was wondering if Jen is single or not?”
Whoa, I didn’t see that one coming.
“Aww, does someone have a little crush?” I said while playfully punching his shoulder.
“Shut up!” He exclaimed.
“I’m not sure if she’s single or not, but she seems pretty close to that Derek guy and I know they used to be an item.” I explained.
Now this is the Jackson I fell for in the first place.
“Does this mean we’re cool again?” He asked.
“We’re getting there.” I said with a laugh.
“I should probably go.” I said while walking away.
Jackson grabbed me by my arm and pulled me back towards him. I half expected him to kiss me by the look in his eyes but he pulled me in for a hug instead.
I wrapped my arms around him as we hugged.
“Bye Jackson.” I said.
“Goodbye Lucy.” He said.
I walked back to Stiles’ jeep and got in.
“Took long enough.” Jen mumbled from the back seat.
Stiles started the jeep without even glancing over at me.
I gave him a worried glance then looked back at Jen, who was in her own little world.
“Stiles?” I asked.
“Hm.” He hummed.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Just a long day, that’s all.”
“Ok. So what’s really wrong with you?”
“You really don’t know?”
“No..?”
“Really? You don’t know? Really?”
“Can we not play mind games here? Just tell me.”
“You and Jackson had a little moment back there. I saw the hugging, smiling, and laughing.”
“Are you serious? That wasn’t even like that at all.”
“It sure looked like it.”
“Stiles, we are just friends. Nothing more.”
“You shouldn’t even be friends with him, have you forgotten everything he has done?”
“No, but he apologized for it all and the kidnapping wasn’t even his idea. Peter forced him to do it!”
Stiles scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“He even asked me about,” I paused and glanced at Jen who had her headphones in. “About Jen.”
Stiles hit the brakes and turned to me, “He what?!”
“Keep driving! He asked me if Jen was single!” I giggled.
“That’s not even funny! I’m not letting him near her.” Stiles said.
“C’mon, he’s got to be better than Derek, right?”
“Personally, I’m not a fan of either.” Stiles mumbled.
“You are more of a drama queen than I am.”
Stiles dropped Jen off at her house, then went home with me.
“Guess Scott’s not home.” I said while walking hand in hand with Stiles into my house.
“Apparently not.” Stiles said.
I walked into the dark living room with Stiles and sat down in his lap on one of our chairs.
Suddenly, a lamp flipped on from the other side of the room.
Stiles and I exchanged confused glances then Scott’s face appeared.
I jumped off of Stiles and Scott said, “I think we need to talk.”
