"I met a girl!" Chris sang into his phone to his older brother Cully.
"You met a girl? What kind of girl?" His brother wanted to know.
"A smoking hot one. Whose personality is even hotter."
"And she likes you?"
"I think she does." Chris said confidently.
"I'm happy for you. I thought this was your weekend with Jack."
"It is – I'm on my way to get him. But look, google Belle Harper of the Harper Dodgers. She's a knockout."
"Alright." Cully sighed.
"Gotta go pulling up at Anna's"
Chris picked up his 5-year-old son Jack from his ex-wife's house. It was amicable no hard feelings. Jack was excited to spend a couple weeks with his dad as Anna was going out of town. They also tried not to do it one week at a time back and forth it just seemed too hard for a 5-year-old.
Chris and Jack spent the day doing "boy" things, they went fishing, Chris took him 4 wheeling and then they had dinner and ended the evening with a movie in the living room having a camp out.
As soon as Jack was sleeping peacefully Chris pulled his phone out. He and Belle had been texting all day. She had even sent him a picture of her at the game. This time she wasn't dressed as casually but she still had the Dodgers baseball hat on and he had saved the pic as her contact profile pic in his phone.
He hit the call button and patiently waited for her to answer.
"Hello?" Her voice was sweet and yet sexy at the same time.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi" She echoed back he could hear the smile in her voice. "Is Jack asleep?"
Chris had said he would call her as soon as Jack was in bed.
"He is. Fell asleep watching Batman Lego movie."
"Batman Lego? Not just The Lego movie?"
"He prefers Batman over Emmett." Chris was clearly not thrilled causing Belle to giggle.
"Well I prefer Emmett over Batman" She offered.
"What about Pratt over Emmett?"
"That's a tough one." She pretended to be torn, "I've heard Pratt is an amazing kisser though."
"Oh that's a given."
Belle shook her head laughing." I have to let Killen out."
"Whose Killen? Are you already seeing someone else?" Chris jokingly scoffed.
"Killen is my dog. Would you like to see him?"
"Sure." Chris agreed. Seconds later a FACETIME Request came through from Belle.
He hit accept and his screen was filled with the face of chocolate lab whose tongue was panting haphazardly out of his mouth.
"He's a looker!" Chris said. The phone shifted, and he could see Belle whose hair was pulled up in a messy bun. She had an old t-shirt on and black rimmed glasses that she pushed up her nose.
"How is it possible you can get hotter?" He wanted to know.
"Oh yes because this look is so sexy." She rolled her eyes tugging at her top knot.
"If only you could see what I see....wait a minute...wait just a minute. Let me see your shirt."
Belle paused but then panned down to reveal the Captain America shirt she was wearing.
"Captain freaking America? Are you kidding me? For shame Belle."
"What?" She asked innocently. "I have a thing for Captain America."
"Sure, if you like that type."
"You mean incredibly buff, a standup guy and America's hero?"
"He's not America's Hero......Star Lord, that's the true hero."
Belle laughed loudly, "I'm sorry you don't like my shirt."
"That's ok. We can fix that." He gave her a seductive grin.
