Chapter thirty-two

It's been a day since we found Mia. I have learned that she is four years of age. Her sister and mother had just been attacked before we found her. That's all I know.
I sit up from laying down on the ground. We have set up our camp on the side of the road. Carl is out for a walk. Mia is asleep.
I wonder what we will find in DC. Will we even get answers for what happened to me? I turned, but I'm still here today. What if I'm just a ticking time bomb. One day I'll turn. I don't even fully understand what happened to me. I was shot, I died, I turned, and came back. That doesn't even make any sense.
Hopefully DC will understand.
