Maggie's POV
"Stop Aria" I say to my bestfriend who is currently dragging me to a cafe that I despise for no reason
"I don't understand why you hate it so much?" She says shaking her head
"Neither do I" I mumble as we enter the cafe
"Hi I'd like your chai tea" Aria tells the cashier
"Okay and you honey" the lady at the cashier says to me
"A mocha cappuccino" I say to her and me and aria walk to a table to wait
"What happened to not liking the cafe" she asks me
"Well I figured that if I'm here already I just might as well order something" I say to her and she just shrugs
"2 orders for Aria, one chai tea and one mocha cappuccino" a different lady says and Aria gets up to get both our drinks
"Thanks" I say as Aria sets it down in front of me
"No problem now try it" she says eagerly waiting to see my reaction and I take a sip
"Not bad, not bad at all" I say with a smile
"I knew you'd like it" she says with a wide smile
"Whatever" I say playfully
We soon finish our drinks, pay and head out.
"So hows home?" Aria asks me
"The same" I say truthfully
"you should head home you wouldn't want your mom to worry " she tells me
"As if she'll care as she does is work and drink she literally hasn't talked to me in a month" I say rolling my eyes
"Maggie she cares she may be busy but deep down she cares" she says trying to convince me
"Your gunna make me walk alone, with complete strangers?!" I say to her wide eyes trying to change the the subject
"Okay first of all its morning and second of all I was a stranger when you first met me" she says with a small smile
"Okay Okay Bye" I sigh and start the journey back to my house.

I walk into my house and see my mom isn't home, nothing new there.
I set down the house keys on the kitchen counter and make myself some food since my mom doesn't.
I decide to just make eggs and bacon.
After I finish eating I walk my golden retriever tater tot. Yes he is named after a potato.
I walk him around my town and pass the cafe me and Aria went to earlier. Except there was a fortune teller lady.
I feel bad for the people that actually pay and think the lady can see their future. Nope just a load of bs.
As I continue walking I notice clouds forming making the sky cloudy. I look up and feel a water droplet fall on my forehead.
I quickly wipe it off and walk back home.

By the time I arrived home there was a complete storm outside.
I brought in tater tots food and water into the garage since it was raining outside.
I then walk upstairs with tater tot and FaceTime Aria
"Hey Aria wanna come over later?" I ask her
"I can't remember I told my mom I would help her clean the house for the guests at dinner"
She says
"Oh yeah" I say
"Okay well I'll call you later" she says and hangs up
"Bye"
I then decide to call my brother that's 22 years old
"Hey how's LA treating you?" I ask him
"Good the beach is real nice here"
"That's cool"
"Hows home"
"You know the same mom acts as if I'm not even here, what's new about that"
"Things will start getting better just give her some time"
"Is 4 years not enough?" I ask
"Okay how about I make you a deal. Once you turn 18 I'll let you move to la with me" he says and a huge smile appears on my face
"Are you serious Caleb" I ask still not believing the words that left his mouth
"Yeah just turn 18 and I'll have a place ready for you"
"I can not thank you enough Caleb"
"Alright well I have to go bye" he says
"Bye" I reply and hang up

Time past by and I soon hear my moms car pulling up in the drive way. When my mom isn't working she either drinking or sober.
But I've gotten used to it.
