I had quite a few DMs about this fic and it seems that a lot of you are looking forward to it already. Thank you for the support and for all the suggestions.

As I reach into my bag for my keys to look the front door I remember that I have training tonight. For the past 2 years or so since I turned 16, I have been training every fighting tactic possible with my cousin, Alec. He is 21, and has also been training since he was 16 so he is experinced which is why he trains me. Although I don't know why I'm doing this.

A week before my 16th birthday, my dad and I had a conversation about, and I quote "the dangers of life" and that I need to be prepared. I asked him when I'd ever need these 'skills' as he called them,  but the only reply I had was 'you'll know when it is time'. I told him that it would be unnecessary and to just give me pepper spray that I can keep in my bag like any normal dad would, but he was adamant that this was something important. Whenever I bring this up he seems to just change the topic which always makes my curiosity grow.

After locking my door, I place the keys back into my bag safely and pull out my phone to find an unread text that I'd received 10 minutes ago.

Unknown Number.

"Be careful."

What?

Why do I need to be careful? I quickly scan my surroundings as I make my way to my car. It is far too early to be reveiving mysterious texts from an unknown number although it's probably just my dad texting me off his friend's phone because his died. I relax as I sink into the leather seat of my car trying to focus on the day ahead, but my thoughts are elsewhere right now.

I throw my phone onto the passenger seat next to me before starting the engine and heading to school. I get the feeling that today is going to be a long ass day.

The drive to school is only about 10 minutes but I didn't feel like walking today, I am too tired.

As I pull up to school, I notice my friend Rylee sitting on the wall by the school doors, with her head hung low I can tell that something is wrong. I quickly park as close to the entrance as possible before retrieving my phone from my seat and slinging my bag over my shoulders before locking the car and running to her.

"Hey" I greeted her with a small smile on my face.

"Hey Sierra" She sighed, flashing me a fake smile. Yes, my name is Destiny, but I have always hated that name so most people know me as Sierra, which is my middle name. My dad never calls me Sierra, so I have to put up with him calling me Destiny.

Rylee and I have been best friends since we started high school. When it comes to confiding in someone, I know I can talk to Ry because besides my dad, she is the only person who cares about me and I trust her a hell of a lot.

"What's wrong?" I ask as I sit next to her on the brick wall. "I know something is up, so tell me." I practically begged.

"They're fighting again" She sobbed as I pulled her in for a hug, trying to comfort her. She doesn't have to mention their names for me to know who she is talking about.

Her parents.

"You can stay at mine tonight if you want? You know you are always welcome. We can watch a few movies and talk. I think a catch up is needed" I tried to lighten the mood, knowing that something like this is just what Rylee needs right now.

"That sounds great. Thank you so much." She pulled me in closer for a hug, letting out the smile that I wanted to see.

"Don't thank me, I am always here." I smiled back.

"Did you know that there are two new guys in school?" She looked at me with confusion shown clearly in her eyes. I furrowed my brows as I tried to recall someone mentioning them last week.

"Oh, really? Have you met them yet?" I tried to seem interested but in all honesty, I don't like meeting new people, so I am hoping that she has already introduced herself.

"Yeah, they seem cool, I guess. One is called Scott but I can't remember the other guy's name" She shrugged. "But he seemed to be looking for someone. Anyway, we should be getting to class."

"Oh okay, well I hope they're not in any of my classes to be honest, you know I don't like meeting new people." I laughed lightly. As we step inside the school, we say our goodbyes as I head off to my first class, calculas. It is by far my least favorite class. I also do AP English Language which is my second class for today. After lunch I have World History so hopefully today won't be so bad.

***

"Good Morning, everyone. Today we are focusing on.." I have been in this class for 2 minutes and I am already bored. I think I'm just going to be spend the next hour in my own state of my mind. We don't seem to be doing anything interesting today so I don't see any point in making any sort of contribution.

It feels as if I have only been in the room for 15 minutes before the buzzer goes signalling that class has ended. I spent the duration of the class slumped in my chair just finishing my project for World History, just a short essay but it was enough for me to focus on.

As I gather my belongings, Mr Daniels calls me over to his desk. At first I hesitate but I know that wouldn't go down too well. He is quite stubborn.

"Miss Hills." He sighed as I roll my eyes. "You seemed to be... somewhat distant this morning. Is there something bothering you? Is the work we are doing okay for you?" As stubborn as he normally is, he can actually be quite nice when he wants to.

"No, the work is fine. I just wanted to finish my project for one of my other classes. Don't worry, I have already done what have... done today" I lie as I peak over his shoulder to see what he had been writing on the board during class. The truth is that I am extremely behind on my work, I can't focus and it simply does not want to sink into my brain. But I hate asking for help because everyone seems to look down on me. I hate being intimidated.

I bring my focus back to Mr Daniels, who seems to be acting differently today, being sure to not make eye contact so he doesn't notice the lie I just told him. He seems to be looking at me as if he is studying me.

"Well.. I should be going now. I have English to be getting to, and I'm sure you do not want another run-in with Ms. Walters." I laugh lightly trying to ease the tension before exiting the room. But before I can even grab the handle of the door, Mr Daniels stops me.

"Listen, I know you are struggling. If you would like me to tutor you privately, then get your father to contact me. Alright? I know you can pass this class, I have every faith in you." He smiled. "You are very intelligent, you know?" He praised me as he opened the door, then lightly pushing the small of my back signalling that I was dismissed. As much as I hate calculus and that Mr Daniels can be stubborn, but also nice, I must admit that there is something about him that makes me question why he is working here. I mean, he is younger than anyone else who works here. I heard he is only 26, which is very surprising. He has only been working here for 4 months and seems to get on well with students despite his stubborness.

I leave the room without saying another word. I just need to get to English.

As I walk to my locker, I notice that the hallways are completely silent, not even one late student or teacher rushing around in sight. That's unusual, but I brush it off anyway.

Once I get to my locker, I quickly throw my calculus textbooks in and swap them for my Language books then slamming my locker door shut. I carry on walking but as I turn the corner, I bump into someone I don't quite recognise and my Language books fall to the floor.

"Watch where you're going, fucking idiot." He growled. I didn't speak. I didn't retaliate. I just stood there, in shock.

I scoffed as I bent down to retrieve my books from the floor. He didn't even stop to help me.

I roll my eyes as I continue walking to my next class.

That is, until I feel a cold hand grasp onto my wrist, stopping me from walking.

"Hey, um..." He spoke as I turned around.

Once again, I scoff.

"What?" I snapped. It was the same guy who bumped into me.

"I'm sorry for what just happened and for not helping you." He sighed, his eyes searching my face for any sort of response.

"It's fine." I replied calmly. I don't even know who he is.

"I'm Harry" He said, as if to answer my thoughts. "and you... you must be Sierra. Am I right?"

"How do you know my name?" I asked, making sure I didn't break eye contact.

"Hm. I know a lot more about you than you think." He chuckled.

"What do you mean?" I eyed him warily, but I figured he's probably just saying that to make me feel nervous. Once again, he chuckles, but this time it's more devil-like.

"I'm trying to find AP English, um, Language.. but I'm lost. Could you help me?" Shit. That means...

"Sure. Actually, I'm going there right now." I quickly replied but I don't know why I just said that. I don't want to walk with him.

"Great. Let's go." He smiled, showing his dimples. He's pretty cute. The way his eyes went from dark to light during our short conversation made my heart flutter a little. They are beautiful, and I'm sure I recognise them. His pink, plump lips turned up slightly in that adorable smirk that I recognise too. I have seen it somewhere, I know I have. I look back to his eyes again as he asks me about my classes.

Those eyes.

But I can't know this guy, we've never spoken until now. Right?

"Um, earth to Sierra?" His raspy voice snaps be back to reality.

"Oh. Sorry. I-I was just wondering, where are you from?" I asked nervously. He chuckles once again.

"England. I moved here a month ago but this is my first day here." I smile at his reply. We haven't met before. Maybe he just looks similar to someone I know.

Before I know it, we arrive to class. But as I look to the clock down the hall, I realise we had been walking rather slow here. Shit.

"Harry, we're pretty late so, yeah. It was nice meeting you" I rushed my words, forcing a friendly smile, feeling very uneasy.

"You too. Shall we go in?" He grinned, once again showing his dimples.

"Wait." I paused, grabbing of his muscular arm. "Isn't it going to look, you know... dodgy." I say nervously, avoiding eye contact but I can see him rolling his eyes in the corner of my eye.

"Alright, you go in first and I will wait out here for 5 minutes. Deal?" I didn't even have to look at him to know that he was smirking.

"Ok." I said grabbing the door handle. "Make sure you-" I didn't finish what I was saying before he opened the door and pushed me in, and of course, he followed. Not waiting outside like we agreed.

The whole class turned to look us. I tried advoiding any sort of eye contact while taking my seat but I was unsuccessful. I sighed as I relaxed in my seat, watching Harry as he sat only a short distance away near the window. I could hear all sorts of comments being made about us coming in late together, but they are wrong. Harry is arrogant, rude, selfish, we would even be as close as friends, let alone in a relationship, but as much as I hate to admit it, he was kinda cute.

After about five minutes of Ms. Walters trying to settle everyone down, we finally get on with our assignment that she had planned for us last week. I got right into it as I was fully prepared.

"What the?" I whispered as I picked up a crumpled piece of paper that had hit my head. I opened it up only to see a message had been scribbled onto it.

Meet me by the entrance of the school before lunch.

It read. I quickly looked up, scanning the room until my eyes fell onto his. He smirked at me, raising his eyebrow while waiting for my response.

Harry.

Of course. I rolled my eyes, before nodding my head in response.

What am I doing?

A/N: Finally got the second chapter up. I'm sorry if it's not that good, I'm on my phone :( But I hope you enjoy it anyway!
