Chapter 59 (continuation of the previous chapter). :)
Why am I having such a hard time trying to write this? hehe x
FEELS ALERT. JUST SAYING.
Listen to Say Something for this part of the chapter. It kinda suited and I was or was not listening to Pentatonix's version of it. :p
Laura's POV
He felt so close. Even though he wasn't right next to me or anywhere near, I can feel him. I can feel his presence.
He was struggling to get in. He knocked on the force field so many times - I mean that must hurt right? Electricity flows in his body - but he still continued. He got back and continued trying. That's one of the things that I love about him.
He'll never stop trying to get to me. He'd never give up, no matter what.
I remember a few months back, I was sick and moody. I was in bed all day, just staring at the ceiling emotionless. He'd come up to my room, hands in his pockets, smiling awkwardly but cutely, and I'd tell him to go away, to leave me alone.
But he'd never stop. Every five minutes or so, he'd come back up and asks me the same question, "How are you feeling?"
I found him quite annoying at first, but at his five millionth or so visit, I had a huge smile on my face.
And I didn't tell him to leave. Maybe cuz I want his company. Maybe cuz I never want to be alone.
Remembering that brought tears to my eyes. I sighed deeply and closed my eyes again.
I heard that 'poof' that I really loathe and hate and that voice that I really dislike. "Miss your lover, eh?" he smirked, chuckling.
Everytime he makes an appearance, my head throbs and my leg would ache. Probably the poison acting on me.
"Why, if we switch places, won't you miss the one trying so hard to get back to you?" I sniffed, trying to be all sarcastic.
I feel that excruciating pain in my head again. "Rule one. You do not talk back to me. I would and could kill you, but that's not what I want. I mean what's the fun in killing you without seeing the pain in your loved ones?" he sneered.
F**king sadist. This is just a game to him. We are all just a piece in his games.
"Fine. Have it your way. See your lover. Make the most out of that time. Remember what I've said. Your clock is ticking and your time is running out."
He snapped his fingers and the forcefield disappeared. (A/N - I know, forcefields are invisible but lets just say in this story, Laura can see forcefields. Okay? Okay.)
And I saw a Ross Lynch running to me just as I see a Great Master disappear into thin air.
I'm not going to hurt him, I'm going to tell him that I'm okay and that I'm grateful for every moment we've been through together. He's not gonna get hurt. I'll make sure of that.
Even if its that last thing I do.

Ross' POV
I couldn't bear to see it. I can't bear to see her hurt. I hate seeing her getting hurt.
If I could, I'd take her place. I'd rather me getting hurt than her.
Because it'll hurt more if she was there. Getting hurt. And me just standing there, helpless.
So I'm not giving up, until she's safe, until she's in my arms.
From here, I can't see her face that clearly, but I can tell she's in pain. Everytime she makes that face, I can't help but sob, because I'm just here, watching her.
I'm going to kill that guy for whatever he did to my family and Laura. He's going to pay for whatever he had done.
Even if its the last thing I do.

It disappeared. The forcefield.
Not like those superhero kind of scenes, where the hero smashes the portal or the controller and the forcefield dramatically unfolds and disappears.
I just punched it and my hand went through.
So, I ran. Every step brings me closer to her. And I finally see her. She's still beautiful as ever. She looks weak and tired.
"Laur," I spoke.
"Ross," she replied in a soft voice.
I try to untie her ropes, but it seemed like it was being held by magic and only a super sharp object like a sword could break through them.
And I couldn't hold it anymore. I let it go, I let the tears go. She starts crying too. I hug her, really tightly. She's probably getting hurt from it, knowing the pain she's been through. But she's not complaining.
(A/N - Laura's tied up, I know. But she's only tied at the waist area, so Ross can still hug her. awh raura).
So, we were just there, hugging. We stayed there for quite a while. Until Laura groaned in pain. "What's up? What hurts?" I pull away.
"My head and stomach," she replies.
"When was the last time you've eaten?" I ask and she shrugs. Maybe she's really hungry? I don't know what happened to her in the past few weeks.
"What happened to you? If you don't wanna tell me, its fine. I can understand," I said to break the awkward silence between us.
"Why don't you tell me what happened to you guys after I left?"
So I did. I told her about the phone calls, running away, having super strange and bizzare dreams, meeting Julia, being stranded in an island or something, and the forcefield.
"I don't know what happened to the family after I left."
And she told me what happened to her.
However, knowing Laura for quite a long time, I can tell she's keeping something from me. She's not telling me something.

Luke's POV
"What happened to you?" I asked. "Nothing, just, took a long time for me to get back," she shrugged and wiped her hands on her jeans.
"Doesn't seem like nothing, Jul," I said. I'm deeply concerened for Julia. She likes doing things that would land her in trouble.
"It's nothing, well for now. But first, we have certain people we need to rescue. Ross and Laura. Their lives are in danger."
Another thing.
Julia loves to put people she loves before her. That's one thing I love about her.

Julia's POV
There's no time to worry about me. I'm fine, I don't feel anything.
Bullsh*t. Your head is hurting. Your heart is aching like its dying at anytime soon, not like those heartbroken kind of heartache. The actual pain.
Okay, maybe my whole body is aching and I'm dying but that's the last thing on my mind.
The truth is whenever ghost-humans - not zombies, those are different things- like Luke and I, die again. It's game over for us. We don't resurrect as ghosts or whatever what nots. We leave forever. I don't know what happens after, though. It's called disfiguration. And there is only one known way to disfigure us, its to inject us with a special serum. That serum is running through my veins right now, probably coming closer to my heart, slowly killing me.
"Do you have any idea where they are?" Luke asks.
To be honest, I don't have a clue. And there isn't any room for mistakes. One wrong move, and we're history.
Or could they be there? The place where it all began?
"I have a pretty good hunch that they're at the playground, where I was shot."
(A/N - THE SETTING OF THE PAST FEW CHAPTERS IS IN ANOTHER DIMENSION OR WORLD OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES. HOWEVER, PLACES LIKE THE PIZZA PLACE (if u can remember) EXISTS, ONLY THING DIFFERENT, IS HOW THEY LOOK. JUST TO CLEAR CONFUSION. SORRY FOR SCREAMING. AHEHEHE).

Laura's POV
It's better if I don't tell him.
I don't wanna hurt him.
What doesn't kill him would make him stronger. I strongly believe in that.
He's gonna get hurt sooner or later, he has to find out, I thought.
"Ross," I start, but I was interrupted. I first thought it was the Great Master, but instead it was just a pair holding hands.
Julia and Luke. (A/N - #JUKE I CAN'T EVEN I SHIP THIS TOO MUCH. AHUEHUEHUE).
"This is what the pizza place looks like now? It's just a beach," Julia frowned. "Who'd want pizza at a time like this, oh wait, you do."
Julia giggles.
"Oh, we're here," Luke says.
Julia's giggly mood was replaced by a serious look and said, "We're here, okay, we're here."
"First things first, what did that Great Master say or do to you all?"
Ross - "He said that to me, that I was dying inside. That the antidote lies in myself. That if I sacrifice myself, you all will live. But nothing seems to be aching or anything inside of me."
Luke - "He never even appeared or talked to me."
Julia looked at Luke and took a deep breath before starting to talk. Could it be she's going through the emotional pain I'm going through right now, to not hurt Luke with the big, shocking news? I guess this is when we all find out then.
Julia - "Man, how am I gonna say this? Ok, so when everything was going on as what the prophecy said, Ross came to that little deserted area. And when Ross and I were going to escape, G.M caught up to us. I got sucked in this vortex and was knocked out unconscious. Then woke up in this massive field. I was told, that there was a poison running through my veins and that I had 2 hours to make a life-changing decision. Tell him where Luke was hiding, so he could finish Luke off. Or keep it a secret and let him kill you all. I escaped and went immediately to Luke and I's secret base. I didn't tell him because I didn't want to hurt him. Sorry Luke, I love you babe."
By the time Julia finished talking, tears were already streaking down her face. Luke pulled her in a huge hug, kissing her forehead and cheek. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Luke patted her hair gently.
(A/N - JUKEEEEEEE. SORRY FOR NOT PUTTING THAT RAURA IN, DON'T WORRY THERE'S STILL ALOT OF TIME FOR THAT. ;) ).
Then it was my turn to talk. Oh great.
Laura - "Ok, so you all know that I was taken away from the actual world and taken into this room, where I was kept for weeks or months, I don't know. Until I was knocked unconscious here, and was told that a poison runs through my veins and that I needed to decide, whether I let you three sacrifice your lives for me or I die to let you three live. My head, my heart, my whole body is aching right now and it feels like I'm going to die any moment."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Ross asked, a glint of hurt in his eyes. I teared up before saying, "For the same reason Julia did. To protect you, to not hurt you."
That was when I realised, us girls are suicide lovers.
We'd rather get hurt then our lover. We'd love them too much to let go. We'd sacrifice our lives for him.
Ross took me by surprise and kissed me. I missed it, the feeling of his lips on mine. It was a warm feeling, knowing he's right beside me.
We pulled away after a while and I could tell my cheeks were rosy red.
"Ok, the Great Master being my dad and all, I know what he's doing. He's manipulating you all to get what he wants. He's lied. Ross, you're not dying. On the other hand, as much as it hurts for me to say it, Jul, you and Laur are dying."
But he took out a syringe from his pocket.
"But here I have an antidote. Which can cure any disease, any poison, any sickness. This is what you both need. I believe Julia has one in her pocket. But faster, before he comes back."
Suddenly, the syringe fell on the floor, the liquid spilling on the sandy ground, glass shattered.
"I believe, you're too late."

Luke's POV
It was that sudden shock that disabled me to do anything. After a good ten seconds, I realised what had just happened.
We're too slow.
We're too late.
We just lost the antidote. There's only one left. And a whole syringe is needed to cure them. There's only enough to cure one.
"Finally. You're all here," Dad said. I hated the way he spoke. I hated the way he floated around with dark clouds following him. I hated everything he's done to us.
We don't deserve this.
He's only after me and he's making others suffer so he can get what he wants.
"I'm here now. It's me you want, right? What do you want?" the anger was clear in my voice.
He laughed. "I did this for the sole purpose of hurting you. Hurting them," he pointed to Julia and Laura, "would hurt you."
"Why? Why go through all that hard work just to get to me? I know you want to kill me, right?" my fist curled up in a ball.
"For revenge!" those words echoed throughout the whole setting. And everything comes back to me.
- Flashback -
Rain poured down from the Heavens. Lightning striked. It was midnight. I had disguised myself as a drug dealer, to get close to my "dad".
He's a drug addict, a criminal, a murderer.
He murdered my girlfriend, the love of my life, in cold blood, just because he didn't like the idea of us. And now, this is revenge.
I pulled down my hood, making sure my face was not noticable. I took in a deep breath and suddenly pondered, if it was worth it.
Yes. For Julia. I'm doing this for her.
Another minute passes and I grow restless.
And finally he arrives.
"You're ten minutes late, do you not want your drugs?" I say in my fake, gruff voice. "Sorry," he said. "Do you have the money?" I ask.
He pulled out a 500 from his wallet. "Do you have it?"
This is it. I pulled out a plastic bag, which inside had a knife. "Oh yes, I do." I smirked.
And I stabbed him. Multiple times.
I never thought if anyone was watching us. It was midnight, after all.
But then, looking to the right, I saw a girl, with a horrified expression. And I realised who she was.
It was Laura.
-- Flashback end --
"I remember why."
My anger was only growing. "Because I killed you, just as you killed Julia. You want revenge." I read up before that the only way to kill someone like the Great Master was that his one and only living son was to kill him.
I hated that smirk on his face.
"You weak boy, you can't do anything to me. I am stronger than you, more powerful than you. You're weak. You don't have power over me." He sent a blow to my face. Multiple blows.
I bet that my face and body would be bruised and bloody after this.
He's right. He's more powerful, he's stronger but there is something that I have that he doesn't.
This all ends tonight.
The one and only way to destroy a Great Master is to take the weapon of what ended his mortal life and use that to destroy him.
I took out the knife, and instantly horrible memories came back with it. That was the knife that I used to kill my Dad , what I used to threaten Laura, and what I used to kill myself.
But in that few seconds of which I was distracted, he made use of it and tried to snatch the knife from me. And ended up slashing my arm.
This is definitely going to end badly.
"I'm not that stupid, boy, I know what you're planning and you're never going to succeed." Of course he does. Of course he says that.
"Well, I'm not giving up."
He tried to punch my face but I ducked, making him punch the air. I grabbed his wrist and kicked his gut. He dropped the knife.
But he's not letting me get it that easily.
Of course.
He steps on my foot and slaps me. And in those few seconds that the pain was starting to kick in, he kicked the knife away.
"Stupid, stupid boy, think I'll die easily?" he coughed.
At least he's getting weak too. But I'm even weaker. I don't know where he kicked the knife into.
Then suddenly, what I never expected to happen, Julia came behind him and stabbed him from behind.
I guess he must've kicked it to her direction. "Hasta la vista," she said, smiling.
He screamed in agony, like he was going through excruciating pain, which I think is the case. And his last words were, "You are never going to get away with this!" And he evaporated into tiny pieces.
He's gone. I can't believe it. He's dead, finally.

I ran up to Julia to give her a hug and kissed her passionately in the lips. I missed this feeling. And she suddenly collasped to the ground. The poison must be kicking in, getting slowly to her heart.
And Laura screamed.
Same thing goes to her, I guess. But there's only one left.
Julia took out the syringe from her pocket and held it in her hand. "It's the last one," she said weakly. "Here, catch," she threw it to Ross. "Give it to Laura," she coughed.
"But what about you?" Ross asked.
"She has more to live on than me."
"But what about us?" I asked, I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. Julia smiled.
She was still beautiful, no matter what.
It was like at the playground, she was in my arms and I was trying to comfort her that everything was going to be okay. Even though it wasn't.
I leaned in to kiss her. Maybe that would be our last.
"I love you, Luke. Don't ever forget that, okay?" Tears were pouring down from her eyes.
"I love you too, I love you to the moon and back and you know that." I brushed her hair to the side so I could see her eyes.
"I'm sorry, Luke. I don't want to leave you."
"I know you don't. I'm sorry too. I should have went straight to the point and given you the antidote. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want to hurt you."
"Hey, Luke?" Julia asked.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you. For being there in my life. For loving me so dearly. I love you so much. If you weren't there, I would have commited suicide a long time ago. You were there when no one else was. But you helped me get through my depression state. And there is no other way to say this but thank you for those years of you taking care of me, cuddling with me in bed, watching TV, going on dates and all those sort. Thank you for giving me that experience I know that I wouldn't change for the world. You gave me an infinity in those years of us and I am eternally grateful for that. I wouldn't change it for the better. I'll miss you, Luke. I love you forever and always. And you know that. I love you."
And her eyes closed.
I hugged her, and tears were pouring down my eyes in buckets. "I love you too, Julia. I love you too. Don't leave me, please, now I'm going to be alone. I'll have no one to love. Come back."
Then I felt a hand on my shoulder.
Laura. "I'm still here. I love you and you know that."
And she hugged me.

Laura's POV
People say that we should make the most out of life. And that we should cherish every single moment of it. We should love with all our hearts. We should break the rules and live life to the fullest. We shouldn't let anyone get in our way.
Love is a roller coaster that goes up and down. There'll be moments of fun and laughter, there'll be moments of pain and sorrow.
We should all keep that in mind. And make the most out of the fun moments.
Friends come and go, no matter what. Life goes on in all different ways.
But there's always one person who'll always be there for you and its up to you to decide who'll that person be.
But just remember that, people change. Personalities change. But we have to remember to guide ourselves to the truth and believe in what we believe in.
Go on and enjoy your life.
Because that would be our always.
