{i've been waiting to post this all week, so enjoy this like two days early, merry christmas loves xoxo}
The last day of filming wrapped for the holidays for a short break on a new project you were working on. Along with three actors that'd worked together before, you felt like a fourth wheel whenever they invited you to hang out. Except for one, Shelley Hennig had quickly become your best friend off set when you discovered you both had a lot in common.
As you were grabbing your things from your trailer, the door swung open revealing Shelley grinning madly, "y/n! I'm glad you're still here!"
"Why?" You asked, swinging your bag onto your shoulder.
"The boys and I have just booked a log cabin for a few days and there's room for four but there's only three of us..." she hinted, pleading with her hands.
You didn't really have any other plans for the holidays other than sitting at home watching tv shows, so you nodded, "sure, why not?"
"You know Dylan is coming, right?" She raised her eyebrows, knowing the two of you didn't exactly get along.
For some reason he always acted weird around you, never saying a word to you. Shelley had no idea why either, she'd tried to talk to him about it, but he'd completely shut down and switch to another topic.
"I guessed, Tyler too?" You asked, following her out of your trailer and closing the door behind you.
"Yep." She grinned, her eyes lit up whenever someone mentioned his name. There'd always been a spark between them, and eventually Tyler asked her on a date that led to many more dates.
"So when are we going?" You said, as you reached your car in the crew parking lot.
"Well, as soon as everyone's got their stuff. Go home, grab some warm clothes and I'll come and pick you up!" Shelley replied, getting into her car.
"Alright, see you soon." You smiled before getting into your car and driving home.
As soon as you got home, you dropped your bag and headed to your room to grab everything you needed and putting them into a small suitcase.
Half an hour later you received a text from Shelley saying she was outside.
Putting on your warm, faux-fur coat, you headed outside seeing Tyler waiting for you with the boot open.
"Hey, y/n! Ready for the best Christmas vacation you've ever been on?" He beamed, clearly very excited.
"Of course I am." You replied, smiling and handing him your suitcase that he carefully put into the boot.
Once Tyler closed the boot he got into the passengers seat next to Shelley, and you got into the back seat, luckily there was an empty seat between yourself and Dylan who was preoccupied listening to music and reading a book.
Tyler turned around and gave you a sympathetic look before looking at Dylan then to Shelley who was sat in the drivers seat.
"Log cabin here we come!" She exclaimed, turning up the radio which was playing Christmas songs as she drove along the highway.
As soon as the city faded away, trees lined the road and the temperature dropped. The ground was covered in a substance you rarely saw, thick, white snow.
You gazed out of the window in awe, not noticing Dylan glancing over at you and watching how distracted you were by the snow. He smirked to himself before burying himself back into his book.
Soon a large log cabin came into view, "we're here!" Shelley exclaimed as she pulled up in front of the cabin. Everyone piled out of the car and grabbed their bags before ogling at how beautiful the cabin was, especially when they all walked inside.
Tyler gasped, "wow."
The log cabin was incredibly beautiful, it even made Dylan take his earbuds out and look around.
"Pretty nice." Dylan admitted.
After you all had looked around, you chose a room and put your clothes and necessities away before wondering around the cabin more.
It was pretty spacious and filled with Christmas decorations, including a large tree covered in flashing lights and beautiful decorations.
From the main room you could see the snow covered landscape and the other cabins in the area. Shelley joined you and you both sat and watched the snow beginning to fall again outside as your hands were wrapped around a large mug of hot chocolate.
Meanwhile, Tyler found Dylan sitting on his bed in his room and sat next to him.
"So, buddy, I have something to talk to you about." Tyler began as Dylan looked at him, mostly confused.
"What about?" Dylan asked.
"Y/n," Tyler said, noticing Dylan's reaction to your name, "look, I don't know why you don't like her, or won't talk to her. But it needs to stop, we all want to enjoy our vacation and we... myself and Shelley... can't enjoy it whilst the two of you won't talk to each other."
Dylan sighed, "it's not that I don't like her. It's the exact opposite actually," Dylan watched as Tyler's eyes widened at his confession, "it's just that I'm scared of becoming attached to someone who might hurt me again."
Tyler looked at his best friend sadly, "is that what you're afraid of?"
Dylan nodded, "yeah."
"Let me tell you something, whilst you were busy ignoring her, I got to know her, and she is one of the sweetest girls I've ever met. Plus, I know she would never hurt you and she would love to get to know you if you let her. So make an effort, Dyl." Tyler said.
"Okay... I will." Dylan replied.
"Good." Tyler smiled before getting up and leaving him.
When Shelley suggested you all go out and build snowmen and play in the snow, you rushed back to your room and grabbed your coat and gloves. On the way back to the living room, Dylan came out of his room bundled up too.
"Hey, y/n, Shelley roped you into going outside too?" He chuckled softly.
It was the first time he'd ever talked to you besides the few lines your characters had exchanged on set.
"Uh, yeah." You replied, slightly confused at why he was suddenly talking to you.
His lips curved into a lopsided smile that made him extremely adorable, "we better go, don't wanna keep Shell waiting."
You followed him as you both headed outside, wrapping your scarf around your neck as you did.
Tyler joined the three of you, building snowmen and women, making snow angels which eventually led to a girls vs boys snowball fight.
Dylan even tackled Tyler at one point, making you and Shelley burst out laughing before you both decided to pelt them with snowballs.
"Hey! Not fair!" Tyler yelled, hurriedly scooping up snow into balls and throwing them back at you and Shelley.
Once you were all worn out, the four of you headed back inside. Tyler lit the logs in the fireplace and started to work on making something for everyone to eat.
Whilst you, Shelley and Dylan warmed up by the fire, Tyler finally brought you all a plate of pizza.
"You didn't cook this yourself, no way." Dylan laughed.
"I may have brought a ready-made one in the car." He shrugged, whilst he smirked.
After eating, everyone decided to go to bed, but you were pretty sure Shelley and Tyler weren't going to sleep yet.
The next few days were full of fun activities, sledding, more snowball fights, exchanging a few more words with Dylan which was surprisingly nice.
On the day you were all set to leave, a letter was posted through the door from the cabin managers that all of the roads back to the city had been closed due to the heavy snowfall and that their extended stay would be free until the roads were cleared.
That night when everyone was tired from the days activities, you headed outside to watch the snow fall. Absentmindedly forgetting your coat.
As you watched the snowflakes fall around you, you didn't notice someone come up behind you and wrap your fur coat around you. When you turned to face them you were surprised to see Dylan.
"Dylan," You smiled softly, "what are you doing out here?"
"I should be asking you that, you're the one standing out here without a coat in the cold." He shook his head.
"Thank you. I just wanted to come outside to see the snow and I was so distracted that I forgot to grab my coat." You replied shyly, averting your eyes from his gaze.
"No problem." Dylan said, he was wrapped up in a black coat with his hood covering his fluffy, brown hair that you wanted to run your hands through whenever you saw him.
Both of you stood outside and watched the snow, staring up at the clear dark sky, you could actually see the stars because they weren't covered by city smog.
"They're like tiny falling stars." Dylan blurted out.
"It's beautiful." You replied.
"Yeah," Dylan said, but he wasn't looking at the snow, "y/n?"
"Mm?" You asked, looking over at him.
"I'm sorry it's took me so long to tell you why I couldn't talk to you... it's just that I was scared of becoming attached to someone, and for some reason I couldn't let myself open up to you." He explained.
"It's okay, Dyl, I get it." You smiled.
"It's not okay. It made me seem like a jerk." He admitted.
"Kind of, yeah," You laughed quietly, "but I forgive you."
As the snow continued to fall around the both of you, Dylan's desires overtook him as he stepped closer to you, slowly cupping your cheeks in his hands.
Your eyelashes were coated with white snow flakes, which he found adorable as he looked into your eyes.
Without further hesitation he pressed his lips against yours, it was a soft and tender kiss that both of your emotions were poured into as you grabbed a handful of his jumper that was exposed by his unzipped coat and pulled him closer to you.
When he pulled away he couldn't stop smiling, his hazel-brown eyes glistening with happiness, "I can't believe I waited this long to do that."
"Me neither." You grinned, your whole body tingling from the kiss.
"Shall we continue this inside? It's getting pretty cold..." Dylan suggested.
"I'd like nothing more." You replied, taking hold of Dylan's hand as you raced inside into the warmth.
