"Hobi, we need to talk."
The words pierce trough the silence like a rock through a window. Taehyung holds my hand, a serious and regretful expression on his face. I set my coffee down and pull him into my arms for a hug that isn't returned. My heart beats faster in my chest, scared for what's going on in my beautiful boyfriend's mind.
"Taehyung, what's wrong?" I ask him, a feeling of dread rolling through my system. Taehyung sighs, resting his hands on my chest to push me away.
"This isn't working; not anymore."
Everything stops; my heart, my breathing, my hearing and vision. We've been together for five years, and he doesn't want me anymore? After all the ups and downs, Taehyung wasn't happy with me now?
"What...?" I whisper, tears starting to gather in my eyes. "I don't feel anything between us anymore. I'm sorry," Taehyung says, looking at the floor.
"Did you find someone new?" I don't know why I say the words; they tumble out of my mouth. Taehyung nods, ashamed. "Two years ago. That's when it started."
Taehyung's been cheating on me for two whole years? And he never told me? My heart is starting to ache, and I'm shaking from holding back my tears.
"Tae..." I let out a sob, "I was going to propose to you later today, I..." I pull the ring from my pocket and give it to him. He opens the box and gasps at the beautiful silver band before he closes it and folds it in my hands with a sigh.
"Give it to someone who deserves your love, Hoseok. I took you for granted, and I hate myself for it. I don't deserve your love. Please find someone who does. I'm sorry."
Kim Taehyung leaves me there, in the kitchen of our apartment, sobbing violently. I wasn't enough for him, and I guess that's why he left.
[A Year Later...]
I'm sitting in a nearly empty diner, waiting for the rain to die down. I'm telling Jungkook embarrassing stories of Taehyung when he was younger; when we first got together. Jungkook is Taehyung's fiancée and the boy he cheated on me with. Still, we somehow managed to become friends.
The door to the diner opens, revealing a very grumpy-looking man. My eyes widen in shock; even through the hard exterior, the man is startlingly beautiful. He's pale with blue hair and a red hoodie, like a reverse Rocket Pop. His face is tinted pink from the cold rain outside.
His eyes meet mine, and a soft expression washes over his face. "Hi," I say, smiling slightly. He comes over to sit in the booth with me, a grin on his face. "Hi." His deep, scratchy voice is gorgeous. Jungkook sighs and ties his apron again. "Looks like my break's over. What would you like, Mr Min?" he asks the man. "Coffee," the man replies, and Jungkook goes off to make his order.
"I'm Min Yoongi. I like your hair," the man, now Min Yoongi, says to me. I run a hand through my freshly-dyed red hair with a sheepish smile. "Thanks. I like yours, too. I'm Jung Hoseok." Yoongi smiles at me again. "A beautiful name for a beautiful face," he says.
"No, you're more attractive than I am. Trust me," I chuckle, which makes Yoongi chuckle. "Thank you, Hoseok. So, what brings you here?" I just sigh and look down at my notebook. "I'm a fictional writer. I needed inspiration," I explain, shrugging a little. Yoongi nods and pulls out his laptop and headphones. "I'm a rapper. Or, I would be if I could write something meaningful enough to be put into a song. I compose right now," he says with a sigh.
I think for a minute, trying to see if I could help him in any way. "Write about a whale." Yoongi looks up at me, confusion written on his face. I flip back through some abstracts and show him a poem. "Whalien 52? Wow," Yoongi says as he reads what I had so far. "This is a good poem. It would make a good verse." I smile at his praise, and he smiles back.
When I place my hand on my notebook, he grabs it with his cold rough one. He takes his pen and writes ten digits on my hand, along with a cute message. 'I really do think you're beautiful.'
Maybe Yoongi is being genuine. I want to let myself love someone, like Taehyung told me to do; to move on. Maybe Yoongi could help me move on.
I'm bored, so prepare yourselves. Imma write another book. Woo! Happy Days!
