Mick is dyslexic. After finding out Ray and Jax spent hours trying to figure out a way to help him read easier, mixing their technology with ones from the future, and in the end creating something that isn't quite a complete fix up but it pretty good all around.
The Time Bureau, once the discover this, immediately puts their new inventions to commercial use.
