My eyes are so tired that I'm having to force them open, I have no doubt I'm squinting. My body has become numb from running in the cold poring down rain but once I stop running I know the pain is going to be nearly unbearable. A sigh of relief washes over me as I see the sun rising up. By now they should be just waking up or ending the search party for me,if their even alive. Rouges tend to be very strong and ruthless but so is my Alpha so I'm honestly not sure who won.
When I see the sun is completely out I sniff the air to make sure I smell no other threat, then I stop and shift back into human form. I hiss as I try not to cry out in pain, I walk over to a tall tree and begin climbing up, I get half way then I lay down on the thick branch.
Most wolves would simply stay in wolf form and sleep on the ground but I'm not strong enough to be taken off guard. Actually I'm not strong at all but I'm one hell of a runner, although it doesn't help when you're caught off guard. So instead I sleep in a tree knowing this is the last place a wolf would look, plus even if a wolf saw me they would have to shift into human form to get me since a wolf can't climb a tree.
I close my eyes and drift off to sleep hearing the sound of the morning birds chirping.

Carver's P.O.V
I keep hearing the most annoying fucking sound of my life as I'm trying to get some rest, so out of instinct I throw my alarm clock across the room breaking it. The noise gets louder and I scream into my pillow annoyed.
" CARVER GET YOUR ASS OUT OF BED ITS THIRTY MINUETS PASSED PATROL! "
I hear my Beta Ivan yell from behind my locked door. Most people I would kill in a instant for talking to me like that but he's the exception.
" One more minute. "
I grumble.
" Dammit Carver don't make me break down your fucking door. Again. "
I remain still and nearly fall back to sleep but then his annoying ass burst through my bedroom door.
" Can I ever fucking sleep? "
I grumble, shoving my face into my pillow once again.
" Yeah. At night. When everyone else sleeps. "
He points out and suddenly I'm lifted up by the back of my shirt. I open my eyes and I'm facing the floor, until Ivan lets go of my shirt and I fall face first into it.
" IVAN WHAT THE FUCK! "
I yell angrily.
" Be down stairs as soon as you can, were waiting. "
He says and walks out leaving me and my door on the floor. I sigh and get up walking into the bathroom and splashing my face with water.
I know Ivan is getting tired of having to wake me up every day, hell I know I would be if I was having to wake up some grown ass man up every morning but I can't help it. It's like each day is just the same old fucking day! Same schedule, same routine, same people, and same rules. Nothing changes, it's like I'm living the same goddamn day over and over again to the point where I'm numb to it.
I'm suppose to be the Alpha, the leader. I need to snap out of this!
" Carver get your ass dow-"
" I'm coming! "
I yell back to Ivan before he can finish his sentence. I take a deep breath then run downstairs to join the others.
" Usual route? "
I ask Ivan.
" Yep, there hasn't been any alerts of any rouge attacks near us so we should be okay but this is just for precaution. "
I nod and we all walk out. Many of us aren't morning people so we don't really talk unless needed during morning patrols. Me and Ivan split into our usual groups and head the opposite way. I patrol my usual area for about ten minutes before I hear Ivan through my mind link.
We have a loner female rouge.
That's strange, they usually at least have one other rouge with the .
Does she look like a threat?
I ask.
No, she's actually sleeping in a tree.
A tree?
I comment confused.
Yep. A tree, so want us to wait to wake her until you come?
Yeah I will track your scent. Be there soon.
I cut off the mind link and start heading his way. As I get closer I feel my wolf Avon waking up with excitement.
What the hell are you so happy about? You do realize it's still morning right?
I ask him bitterly.

He roars happily and my eyes go wide at his words. I speed up as a intoxicating smell of rain and flowers hits my nose. I run up and stop when I see the beauty fast a sleep in a tree. She's small enough to curl up on the thick branch but she doesn't look even a little bit comfortable.
I notice her feet are red and cut up and even have dried up blood on them, she's also covered in dirt and sweat. How long has she been running without a rest? I take in her appearance, she has tan skin and long dark brown hair that hangs down slightly from the tree. Her lips are formed in a frown and her forehead is creased, making me aware she's on high alert even in her sleep.
Then it hits me that a bunch of males are standing around my mate while she's naked and vulnerable. I growl loudly as I snap back to reality and turn back into human form.
" EVERYONE TO THE PACK HOUSE! "
I order them in my Alpha tone and everyone quickly retreats. Well everyone but Ivan.
" What the hell is wrong with you man? "
He ask, also changing back into human form.
" She's my mate. "
I state simply, paying close attention to his reaction and making sure he doesn't look back at her. He doesn't seem surprised or upset about the matter as he smirks at me.
" Oh, congrats. "
" I'm going to make sure no one mistakes her for just another rouge. While I'm watching her go get a blanket for me to cover her and get me some clothes so I don't scare her when she wakes up. "
I order him, not bothering to ask about his facial expression.
" Don't I get a please? "
He says in a teasing tone and I give him a glare. He laughs amused but walks away, shifting back into wolf form and running off to get the clothes and blanket.
I turn my attention back to my mate and look up at her in awe. I climb up the tree and pick her up, using one arm to hold onto her and the other to safely get down the tree. When I land on the ground I shift her in my arms and use both arms to hold her. I look at her and notice that her frown has turned into a straight line and her forehead is no longer creased as she curls into my chest. I smile at the effect I already have on her, without even meeting her yet.
