POV: Savannah
I left Colin's house feeling a variety of emotions. I was causing a war between two brothers, and that's the last thing I wanted to happen. I felt like it'd be best if I just left them both alone, but Colin just told me he loved me. How could I possibly never talk to him again after that?
When I finally got home, I decided it'd be best to not think about Colin or Ryan, so I turned on the television.
I flipped past cartoons and landed on The Celebrity Insider channel. I almost passed it by, until I saw footage of Reece from earlier today on the screen. Apparently he was taking lunch to a new girlfriend of his.
The screen cut back to two people sitting at a desk, talking about candid shots of Reece in a bar with a blonde, and back at a hotel room the next morning.
I whipped out my phone and called him as fast as I could. The phone rang for a while and went to voicemail. I told him to call me back as soon as he got my message, and that I was worried about him.
An hour had passed from the time I called, when I heard my phone ringing. I picked it up without looking to see who it was, assuming it was Reece.
"REECE, WHERE HAVE YOU—"
"Woah, hey this isn't Reece!"
"Colin—"
"Don't hang up... please"
"Fine, but you have five minutes. I need to have the line free if Reece tries to call."
"That's all I need. I wanted to tell you my family is leaving and going back to Ireland tomorrow on New Years Day—"
"Ryan is going too right?"
"Yeah, but—"
"Thank gosh—"
"You're wasting my five minutes..."
"My mistake, continue"
"Ok, they're leaving, but we were all going to spend New Year's Eve together before they do..."
"So?"
"So I want you to come—"
"Ryan will be there, no way..."
"Please, we're not going to fight or anything"
"Why do you need me to come? Why not Jen?"
"Well actually I invited Jen and Reece... and Sean might bring Tanya along too"
"You do know Jen and Reece broke up because of you right?"
"I heard, but they're both my friends, and I want them to bond with my family. I want all of my closest friends to be with me... especially you"
"But you have Jen, and Reece. Sean and Tanya may even come—"
"That doesn't matter, I would trade every single one of them just to have you there with me... Savannah, close your eyes"
"what?"
"Just, humor me"
"Ok," I agreed, closing my eyes
"Are they closed?"
"Yeahhhh....." suspicion rang throughout my voice.
"Good, now what do you see?"
I paused, wondering if it was a trick question, "Darkness... Nothing... Empty Space..."
"That's my life without you..."
There was silence on both ends of the phone, I opened my eyes and water flowed out. All of a sudden, I heard a loud bang, and the front door swung open.
"Ok— I'll come, I have to go now."
"Wait! I'll pick you u—"
I had to hang up on Colin and assist the very wasted Reece King through the door.
"Reece you look absolutely terrible!!"
"Thanks!" he slurred, as I walked him over to the couch and helped him lie down.
"What were you thinking?! Going out, getting wasted right after your breakup... You're the one who told me reaction is what the paparazzi wants to see! Listen to yourself once and a while!!!"
"Stop yelling at me!" Reece demanded in an unhappy voice, "I know, I fucked up okay, but that doesn't give you the right to—"
"Reece are you CRYING?"
"Stopppppp ughhh leave me alone! I want to go to sleep, it's New Year's Eve, let me party how I want to—"
"Wait it's New Year's Eve?!"
"Yeah... wait, am I drunk? Or are you drunk?"
"You're drunk—"
"Are you sureee, because I—"
"Reece, we have to meet with Colin's family today!"
"Oh yeah... well, I give up. Go on without me! I'll be ok, leave me here—"
"Reece you aren't dying, get a grip man! We have to get you at least a little sobered up..."
"How are we gonna do that homie?"
"I'm not your homie... you're just gonna have to throw up... a lot"
Reece and I spent the next hour and a half googling hangover foods, doing handstands, jumping jacks, and just about anything to make him throw up.
"Is it working?" I asked
"I feel better, but then again we have been doing this for over an hour, who knows if it's because of this or if it's just natural..."
"Let's keep going just to be sure..."
I was just about to spin Reece in a circle for the second time when there was a knock at the front door. I told Reece to go change clothes while I answered it.
"Oh, Colin hey.... and Ryan!"
Ryan smiled at me, and Colin went in for a hug. That caused Ryan to want to hug me too.
"You guys ready to go?" Ryan asked
"Oh, yeah, um let me just go change clothes really fast!"
"If you need help—"
"I'm good, thanks..."
I ran upstairs, and Colin walked into the kitchen, while Ryan made himself comfortable on the couch.
I had no idea what to wear. Dresses are always elegant, but I didn't know our plans for the day. I was beginning to regret hanging up on Colin. I decided to just wear black ripped skinny jeans, white Converse, and a white Ralph Lauren t-shirt.
As I was grabbing all of the items from my closet, I heard my bedroom door open and close again. I turned around to see Ryan sitting on my bed.
"I haven't changed yet get out—"
"I know..."
"You're starting to get on my nerves. You know I can't believe half of the words that come out of your mouth."
"Yep, I came to talk actually"
"Will you at least turn around?"
"No, if you've got it, flaunt it babe"
"Don't call me that," I said, beginning to taking off my shirt.
"I just wanted to say, I'm leaving tomorrow, and thank you for the good time while it lasted," he smiled.
"Yeah, no problem," I said, fastening my pants and grabbing my shirt.
Ryan stood up and walked over to me, "I'm gonna think about you everyday..."
"You need to be with your daughters Ryan"
"I'll go back to them—"
"How do I know that's not a lie?"
"I'm done with the lies and the cheating... You can't fake love, I just want someone really cares about me..."
"Stop quoting rap songs," I smiled, "Ryan, I could've been that person for you... if you would've just told me—"
He looked away and took a deep breath.
"Yeah, I know... don't make me realize what I've lost right now," he said, looking at me with a forced smile.
I gave him a hug, "it'll be hard for me to forget you too..."
We hugged for a while, and he pulled away first, "I'm texting you every day, and I'm definitely gonna tell my students about you!"
"Please don't," I laughed
"We should probably get going," he said, grabbing my hand and drawing me in for a kiss one last time.
"Yeah," I said, pulling away, "don't want to keep everyone waiting..."
We walked downstairs together to see Reece and Colin sitting on the couch.
"Ready to go now?" Colin asked.
"Yup," I said, making it down the last step.
We all walked out of the house and got into a limo that was parked out front. I didn't know we were all riding together, but it was to late to back down now.
One by one we all piled in the car. I sat in between Colin and Ryan, which I was thankful for. I didn't want to end up next to their parents or anything. Not that their parents seemed mean, but I was pretty sure they hated me.
In the car, there was me, Ryan, Colin, Mary (Colin's mom), Con (their dad), Jen, and Reece. Reece was sitting next to Jen, which made him seem very uncomfortable, and Jen didn't look too happy herself. The whole limo thing probably wasn't the best idea because of all the tension between everyone, but there was nothing we could do to change plans now.
