81. Logan
My hand was holding Axelle’s very strongly. My other arm was wrapped around me. She was shaking a little bit, even though she tried to be as calm as possible. The pack was still far away. Every minute that went by, caused her more pain. And the worst part was, that I couldn’t help her.
Axelle was mumbling something and I pushed her closer against me. “ Calm down, Axelle. Slowly breathing. “ I tried not the show her how worried I was. She would only be more stressed. She was already in a lot of pain. I needed to be here for her and I didn’t have time to be stressed myself. I didn’t help Axelle with being stressed.
“ How long till we get there, Oliver? “ As soon as Axelle stopped mumbling, I turned towards him. He looked in his rearview mirror. “ 10 kilometers. “ I cursed in my thoughts. Axelle would still suffer for some time. I hoped that she could handle that.
After a new wave a pain, I helped Axelle to drink. She was looking like a ghost, and didn’t said anything. It seemed like I was losing her more every minute. Again, I turned towards Oliver. “ I don’t care what you need to do to get there faster. Axelle needs help. Now. “ I growled to him. After that, I pushed Axelle closer to me.
Eventually, we needed 10 more minutes of patience. Axelle’s hold of my hand got weaker every minute. She didn’t move anymore. Only her breathing could be heard. “ We are her, darling. Hold on for a little longer. “
Oliver stopped the car, right in front of the hospital. The doctors were already waiting for us. They run to the cae and I waited till they helped Axelle out of it. Every movement that she made, caused her pain. I tried to touch her as softly as I could, but even then she had pain.
A wheelchair was waiting for her. I helped her in it and followed the doctors inside. “ It seemed like it’s only getting worse “ I said to one of them. He nodded. “ The other pack already told us what’s going on. Everyone in the hospital was looking our way. They were looking worried. They hoped that it wasn’t something bad.
Axelle was taking to a room, where they helped her on the bed. Then, she was surrounded by doctors. One gave her some water through a needle, another one was examining her belly and someone was looking at her file.
I tried not to walk in their way. That was difficult. I wanted to hold Axelle’s hand, but sometimes I needed to step aside because someone needed to stand closer. “ the painkiller will start work soon “ A nurse tried to calm axelle. The painkillers didn’t stop the cause of the pain … So it didn’t help to calm her down.
“ We will give you some time to catch your breath. It will still be some difficult moments and we want to make sure that everything goes good. “ Just like the nurse had said, Axelle felt much better a few minutes later. She still felt the pain, but it wasn’t that bad then before.
Eventually, Axelle got 15 minutes to catch her breath. She had drunk a few times and tried to sleep the last 10 minutes. “ We can’t wait that long anymore. We don’t want that anything happens to the babies. And to the Luna, of course. “ Two nurses helped her upright. Someone else checked her heartbeat. Everyone was busy with something.
Suddenly, everything went still. 2 nurses and 2 doctors stayed in the room. I felt nervous, definitely when I heard the doctor said: “ It’s time to bring this two babies to meet our world. “
