you opened your e/c eyes and looked around, sure enough, you were in the darkness of Dreamland, though it felt a little different, more sharp maybe? you looked down and saw that your arm with the orange cast was healed again, apparently you were only healed in Dreamland, that would explain how your magick resisted the orange cast, and yes, you secretly were trying to heal your arm, but that doesn't matter right now,
brushing those thoughts aside for now, you turned around in a slow circle and saw that right behind you a child in a green sweater with a yellow stripe on it sat, their back facing you, you felt something emanating from this child, anger? sadness? a mixture of both? you puzzled over this, but quite suddenly the child stood up and turned to face you,
you couldn't help but freeze, the child's eyes were nothing but pitch black holes of, well, black. it started to come towards you, taking slow steps, a creepy smile formed on it's face, and the pink blush on it's cheeks did nothing to mask the weird feeling you felt coming off this kid, then it clicked,
it was anguish,
with this information you felt the emotion grow ten-fold, you found that your limbs wanted to move again, not away, as many would have done, but towards the child, you felt that you wanted, no, needed to comfort them, your feet took a step forward and the kid took a step back surprised that you wanted to come towards it, as it looked ready to give chase, the black of the eyes dripped down and fell from the child's face revealing blood-red eyes, the gooey black substance stains their face, making trails not-unlike tear streaks,
the red eyes glow as you take another step forward, your mind is fuzzed up a bit so you have a bit of a hard time comprehending what exactly is happening around you, a child's voice pierces the quiet atmosphere your eyes see that it came from the child, and you stop walking, your brain clears and you're able to understand what they say
"why aren't you afraid of me?" the question hangs in the air, you smile and sense that under the anger that was obviously laced in the voice, there was a hint of extreme sadness as well, the voice was slightly high-pitched so your able to safely assume that the voice belongs to a girl,
the girl's eyes reflect a bit of restlessness, but also curiosity, "because i know you want help" the words come flowing out of your mouth before you actually processed them, but nothing could be more true, the girl takes another step back, and for a split second, the blood-red eyes, become a more chocolate brown, but they turned red again before you rightfully saw them, making you think that it was your mind playing tricks on you, the girl squares her shoulders but you see something trying to fight it's way to regain control in those red eyes of hers
"i don't think you can help a demon" the words chill you a bit, as she says them with malice, your smile falters and you find yourself pondering what this child has been through, "maybe not, but i don't really see any demons around here" you look around and smile, the girl blinks and you see that whatever was fighting, win, the red mixes with brown and you see a flicker of hope spark in them, "may i come closer and help?"
the girl's eyes turn brown and she runs toward you, you barely had enough time to brace yourself, as she launched at you, you caught her and wrapped your arms around her, your crystal flickering f/c briefly, as you hug her you can tell that she hasn't done this in a very long time, you lightly squeeze her and look down at her trembling from, she started to cry again, but you don't care
you rub her back softly and feel her shaky breaths resound through her, "it's alright, it's alright, your ok now, no need to be scared, i'm here, you don't have to listen to those stupid voices in your head" you pull her closer and she releases another shaky breath, calming down, she nuzzles closer and you shift your arms to a more comfortable position, you look down and smile fondly, she has her eyes closed but you can see that normal tears have washed away the black that had stained her face,
taking a hand you wipe off the residue and she opens her eyes, a beautiful milk chocolate brown, she smiles up at you and sighs contentedly "t-thank you" your smile widens, her voice was more calm and happy sounding "it's absolutely no problem...um, what's your name?" the girl blinks and a slightly frantic look appears in her eyes
"o-oh, i'm s-so sorry! i'm c-chara" you chuckle and loosen your arms as chara sits up a bit, she looks a bit frightened, so you take it upon yourself to keep her from running away wrapping her in your arms again, you smile a bit amusingly "it's quite alright, no need to apologize, it's wonderful to meet you chara, i'm y/n"
chara stalls and looks at you with a unbelieving look, her mouth slightly open "r-really?" your smile widens and you nod chara smiles and her eyes brighten "i-it's wonderful to meet you y/n!" you chuckle though in those eyes of hers you can see something trying to rip her new-found hope away, and you're suddenly concerned "chara, how can i help?" chara is slightly taken aback, but she puts a hand on her chest, makes a grabbing gesture, and pulls away, a heart comes out where her hand was and you can't help but stare at it worriedly,
it's pure black, the same gooey substance that was dripping out of her eyes is slowly collecting at the point at the bottom and dripping off, chara stares at it as well, though it's more of a saddened expression "this is the main problem, but there's nothing you can do y/n, i-i'll just put it back" you looked up at chara and grabbed her hand that was reaching for her soul, and smile "i guess it's the heart of the problem, but believe it or not, there is something i can do"
you had absolutely no idea it would work, but you were willing to try, chara put her hand down and you pulled your own to your crystal, it glowed at your touch and a f/c mist swirled around your head, back, and lower back, when it cleared your add-ons were visible, though you had no time to sit there and stare at them like chara was currently doing,
instead, you raised both of your hands, putting your hands together and curling your fingers a bit, and your thumbs to the sides, you watched as f/c magick flowed from your crystal and down your arms and coming to a rest in your palms, making a slightly glowing orb, narrowing your eyes in concentration, you allowed the magick release from your hands and wind around and onto chara's soul before long,
the black stuff started to melt and peel off of the heart, the goo evaporates when it reaches the black glass-like ground, and when all of the goo comes off, you are surprised at what you see, in place of the once pure black heart resides a strongly glowing ruby red heart, it's slightly cracked but it seems to be healing, courtesy of your magick,
you retract your hands, putting them in your lap, and smile at chara, who's attention is directed at her glowing soul, you're thinking that she's forgotten you were there, but are proven wrong when she looks up at you and gives you the biggest smile you've ever seen since you met her,
she stands up and her soul floats up to stay right above her chest, she puts it away, the ruby red glow disappearing into the confines of her being, but you quickly find yourself having a yellow and green clad figure wrapping her arms around you in a tight embrace, almost knocking you over,
you hug her back and you hear chara say "thank you so much y/n, thank you thank you thank you" you chuckle and stroke her hair, earning a happy sigh from her, after a few more minutes like that, you feel the slight tug coming from your chest and quickly pull back, chara looks up at you, "y/n?" she asks you smile apologetically
"i'm sorry chara, i have to go, but i'll see you again" chara nods glad it was just that, "alright y/n, see you later!" you smiled "stay Determined for me k?" chara nods and you feel a rush of wind ring in your ears and found yourself in the grey space, where the two f/c glowing buttons resided, pressing the Life one, you smile knowing you helped someone you knew needed
