58. Axelle
My nerves were very high. Tomorrow was the day. Tomorrow, I would officially be the Luna of the pack. Oliver had told me that the pack had responded positif on this news. They thought that it was finally time to have a Luna. Today, the last preparations were done. My dress was almost finished. I looked at myself in the mirror. It was a tradition that the dress needed to by white.
Logan had given me the freedom to choose the dress. My previous me, would have chosen a dress that covered my body. One by which I wouldn't wonder what people were thinking of me. On this moment, I had already gained some weight and I was looking healthy again. I liked my body now. After some thinking, I chose a strapless dress. Mostly for Logan. I couldn't wait to see his reaction when he saw a dress that he hadn't expected.
The day passed by. Logan took care of the ceremony and I was busy with my outfit. A few women had helped me and to my own surprise, they thought I was beautiful. Not only for Logan, even though that was my main reason, but also for the other Alfa couples who were going to come. Everyone wanted their first impression to be good. Thinking of the Alfa couples already let me panic. How would they think about me? I hoped that the answer would be positive.
Logan had already left the next morning. He needed to do some things for the ceremony and he would be the one who would greet the guests. I would prepare myself and rehearse the ceremony with Oliver. The moment was coming really close now. My eyes watched the clock. Not that very long ...
Jack leaned against the doorway. " Are you ready? " I breathed deep in and out and looked at my dress. I hadn't another option than to be ready. " Just stay calm " He said to me. Oliver stood up from his chair and walked to me. " Just look at Logan and don't think of anything else " He smiled comforting, before the two took me outside.
Little candles were showing us the right direction. The whole path was lit. The candles were the only thing I could see for a long time, because it was almost dark outside. The ceremony was held around sunset. Also, one of the many traditions.
With every step I took, my nerves became bigger. It seemed like I forgot what I needed to. I hoped that Logan could calm me down. After some steps, I could finally see Logan. He was wearing black pants and a white shirt. He looked really handsome. Were there even clothes in which he didn't look handsome?! I didn't think so ...
He extended his hand and I grabbed it, as soon as I was close by. Jack and Oliver went to their place. In the dark, I couldn't see the faces of the other guests, but I knew that there were many. In the front were the important guests. Other Alpha's and Luna's. Of course, Jack and Oliver and Logan's parents. To my own surprise, I saw my father. He was sitting on a normal chair, with a small bench before him. His foot was laying on it. He smiled at me when he saw me looking at me. Success, he formed with his lips. And I love you.
" You are really beautiful, Axelle " Logan whispered in my ear. I felt my cheeks getting red immediately. " I noticed that you saw the special guests " He whispered again. He nodded in the direction of my father. Slowly, I turned my head in the same direction. Wait a minute ... Guests? " Have you seen who is sitting next to your father?"
I tried to look really good, but in the dark, I couldn't see much. Logan made a gesture and on that moment, some little candles went on. A big part of the public was lit. And I saw immediately who he meant. Next to my father, there was a wheelchair. And some medical equipment. I saw a respirator. One like in the movie, the fault in our stars.
It took some time before I realised who was sitting next to him. My mother. She seem a little bit tired and I saw that she was trying not to cry. " You can go towards her, if you want " I turned towards Logan. " But ... How? " Logan wiped away a tear on my cheek. " She woke up this week. I thought, it was a nice surprise for you " Indeed, it was a nice surprise. Logan let go of my hand and I went to my mother. I took her hands in mine. " Mother " It was at this moment, that I started crying. Luckily, we had chosen waterproof makeup. I wrapped my arms around her and gave her a hug. I had dreamed about this moment, that she would be here when I became the Luna. I had thought, that it would stay a dream, but it was the reality.
" I'm so proud of you " She whispered in my ear. She kissed my forehead. " Go back to your mate " She said. " So you can become the Luna. You deserved it " I kissed her on the cheek, before I went back to Logan and grabbed his hand. I could never thank him enough for what he did. My love would be the biggest gift, I could give him, but I was sure that it was the only thing Logan wanted. That I loved him.
