"Wow, you look amazing." Peter smiled at you when you walked out of your house.
You blushed and looked down at your hands. "Thanks, Peter."
Your parents took photos of Peter and you, it was prom. Going all out, everyone was excited.
And before long, you and Peter were in the car, on your way back to school for the dance.
Peter had a feeling in his gut that didn't sit with him right. He felt something was going to go wrong. Either he was going to spill something on you, or if someone was going to attack the place, he didn't know. But he stuffed his suit in an extra bag just in case.
When you two arrived at the school, Peter was beyond excited that he was actually going to prom. You and Peter had been friends for a while, and you both decided that going together would be fun. You guys always love hanging out; this was just an excuse to dance together.
You met up with a few of your friends, and Peter said hello to some people he knew. But for the most part, you were planning on just hanging out together.
Thanks to high school health class, you made sure you didn't drink from the punch. Someone probably spiked it.
You and Peter went to dance, and you could tell that something was off about Peter. "What, are you upset that you're here and not zooming around the city?" You smirked.
Of course, you knew about Peter's special ways. You're his best friend of, how long? (Too long.)
"Oh, no, no, I'm just, I've got a bad feeling that something is going to go wrong." Peter sighed.
You laughed. "Sorry to make this night so bad for you, bestie."
Peter rolled his eyes. "You know that's not what I meant. Ever since I fought alongside Tony Stark, you know how I've been." Peter told you.
"Yeah, that was kind of insane, wasn't it?" You smiled, still holding a grudge that Peter didn't get you to meet Tony Stark. (Yet, somehow you met The Winter Solider?)
Maybe that was a reason you and Peter got along so well. You were a fantastic fighter, and no one could tell you otherwise. That's why you help Peter out with protecting around Queens.
"So, what's bugging you?" Peter laughed.
"I asked The Winter Soldier what happened when he figured out that he was first wanted." You told Peter.
"And..."
"He bought a plum. And he never got to eat it." You said, causing the both of you to burst out laughing.
All of a sudden, everyone dancing around in the gym started yelling and running.
"What's going on?" Peter asked one of your friends who ran by.
"Some guys came in with masks on!" She said. "They're yelling about the Spider-Man guy!"
Peter's head turned right towards you, and your friend ran away.
"How did you know something was going to happen..." You whispered to him, as both of you ran to the back of the room with the other students.
Peter grabbed your hand and took you down a hallway no one ever uses. Apparently, it was "haunted," so no one used it, and luckily, it was attached to the gym.
"I don't know. I just felt wrong. We need to get to my locker." Peter explained quickly.
"This way." You pulled Peter another way since you saw some guy dressed in all black, going down the hallway Peter was going to take you.
Once you found Peter's locker, you were convinced that they would find and kill the Spider-Man. And if they found the Spider-Man, they'd find everyone who works with him. And you, being the brains of Peter's missions, they'd figure out that you were part of the team.
You were standing next to Peter as he changed as quickly as possible. And since he was in a tux, it was more difficult than usual.
You swore you heard someone start to come down this hallway.
"Peter, what if something happens to you?" You asked, getting worried.
Peter, now with the full suit on- except for the mask, grabbed your shoulders. "Listen to me, should this be the last thing I see, I want you to know it's enough for me," Peter said. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, thank you." He told you and kissed your lips lightly.
You nodded. "Go kick some ass."
Peter pulled his mask down, and you ran back to the gym, mixing in with the other kids.
"Anyone here know who the Spider-Man is?" One of the men yelled out.
No one replied. "Seriously, we've done our research. We know he's here. Anyone, speak up."
"Spider-Man doesn't go to our school." A random girl said quietly.
"Oh, he doesn't?" The man watching over the group of kids yelled. "Are you sure about that? Think about it; we are in Queens, New York. He goes to this high school." The man started walking closer, scaring the people standing in the front.
"Leave them alone." You heard Peter's voice as he came down from the rafters hanging by a web. Nothing you hadn't seen a million times. "I'm right here."
You were cruising at Peter in your head. If only you could take your phone out and turn your comm on without anyone noticing.
"Behind you!" You yelled, without even thinking. You usually do that, watching a camera and monitoring what goes on.
Peter turned around quickly and took down the man who came at him.
"You seem to know me, but I don't know you," Peter said. "Let's have a talk."
You smiled to yourself. "I don't know if you've been in a fight before, but there's usually not this much talking." You whispered, remembering all the things he told you about the fight with the Avengers.
Your phone went off. You could feel it buzzing, so you quickly pulled it out.
Everyone out. It read, from Peter.
Then, you realized he was stalling, so you could get everyone out. You pulled up a map of the school on your phone and gathered a few kids around you to follow. You were able to sneak out a few groups.
"(Y/N)!" Peter yelled. "Watch out!"
You turned around, just in the nick-of-time, and caught the man's fist when he went to punch you. You smirked at the hand, twisted it around, and hit him square in the face. Spider-Man has taught you a few things.
"Everyone, get out!!" You yelled, hoping that all the kids would scatter and cause a distraction so that Peter could take care of these people.
Right as you were about to leave the gym, someone grabbed your arm. "Let them go," Peter said, holding his hand up.
"We came here for you, and we are going to get you one way or another. And this one, they're getting in our way." The man holding your arm said, grappling your wrist tighter.
You nodded at Peter, and you could tell he smiled. He shot webs into the guy's face, causing him to let you go, and you shoved him down to the ground. You left with the rest of your peers.
The next day, you helped Peter clean himself up. He had defeated whoever came to take him, but he was injured. Luckily, you knew a few things.
Your phone also happened to be blowing up with texts all damn night. From everyone in the school, people you would have never thought would text you, texted you.
But it was all asking the same question.
You know the Spider-Man?
