"Clarke listens to you." Bellamy said to me as we walked behind the group making sure there were no stragglers left behind.
"What?" I asked as I had my bow and arrow ready as I saw Leo in the front doing the same.
"Clarke trusts your opinion. If you would of spoken up we could of stayed." He said
"There isn't much I could of said that would make Clarke change her mind. She's a stubborn little shit." I said
"Finn try not to shake Raven that much." I said as I saw him moving the stretcher from side to side way too much.
"Why were you ignoring me back there?" He asked after a couple of minutes. I looked at him then looked away.
"I was trying to figure out a game plan." I answered as he snorted
"My ass." He said
"That too." I said with a cheeky smile as I saw the group stop.
"Why are we stopping?" Bellamy asked aloud as I shushed him. I listened carefully. I looked up at the trees and behind us. I looked over at where Leo was and looked up at the trees.
"I don't see anything." Bellamy said as I notched an arrow as I suddenly heard a bone crack.
"GROUNDERS!" Jasper screamed
"EVERYONE BACK TO CAMP!"Bellamy yelled next to me as I ran to Leo as Jasper and someone else carried the dead camper with an axe in his head.
"They're here." Leo said as I looked around as I quickly let the arrow go as it hit a grounder in its head.
"You don't say." I said
"Kane get both of your asses moving now!" Bellamy yelled as Leo and I started running behind the group as we saw the gates of camp.
"Are we the last ones?" I asked Bellamy as he nodded as we closed the gates. I climbed up the walkway and looked over the wall too see if any grounders followed us.
"Lydia how many of those arrow heads do you have?" Leo asked
"About three buckets." I said as I looked down at her.
"I'll get them ready." She said as she walked over to my working tent and disappeared
"Coast is clear." I announced
"Then we should go back out." Clarke said as I stepped away from the wall and crouched down still on the walkway
"Clarke we go out those walls again they'll kill another and we'll come running back to the safety of the walls.
And we'll keep doing that until they kill us all off." I said to her
"But you killed the scout." She said
"You said it yourself. There were multiple scouts. And I only killed that one after he killed one of ours." I said to her
"Lydia we have to go." She pleaded with me as I looked over at Bellamy for a bit of support.
"Clarke, Raven has a bullet in her spine. She can't walk. There's one less fighter. The four people that have to carry her. Another four down. Drew just died.
We are 81 against hundreds." I said
"Which is why we should leave." Clarke said
"Which is why we stay." I looked over at Bellamy for his nod of approval which I got.
"We're staying. And we are fighting because we're grounders." I said as I jumped down the walkway.
"There's enough hydrazine in that drop ship to blow a crater the size of the moon.
We pull in the grounders close and we blast off." I said to them.
"You want to stay and blast off?" Clarke asked
"We burn them." I said
"I knew there was a reason on why I dated you for 5 years." Clarke said as she walked away towards the drop ship.
"The grounder army will be here soon. Are the landmines ready?" I asked as Bellamy nodded
"Get the gunners to their posts. And....whatever else that needs to be done do it." I told Bellamy
"Yes kitten." He said as I walked away to the drop ship as I heard him call the gunners to their posts.
"How are you doing Raven?" I asked her as she glared at me. I put my stuff down as I looked at her face, it was getting pale and sweaty
"I have a damn bullet in my back how do you think I'm doing?" She spit through her teeth as I smiled.
"Where's Clarke?" I asked
"Down there." She nodded with her head towards the floor where a hatch was open.
"Thanks." I said as I went over to the hatch and climbed down and saw Clarke struggling to find the ignition system
"Need some help?" I asked as she looked at me relieved as she nodded.
"Yeah I know some about engineering but everything is a mess." Clarke said as I sat down on the floor next to her.
"This is the hydrazine?" She asked as she nodded over at the barrels
"Yup, you should pray that I don't cut the wrong wire." I said with an evil smile.
"Less chit chatting more work!" Raven yelled from above
"I'm going to throw you off that table Reyes!" I yelled back at her as Clarke held the flashlight to where I needed it as I started to unscrew a panel.
"I remember one day you took me to work." Clarke said after a couple of minutes of silence as I tried to untangle the mess of wires
"It was the day I found out that the ark was running out of oxygen." She said as I sighed
"I should of never taken you." I told her
"We were fooling around when your computer beeped. And I remember you telling me 'babe don't look at that. You'll get in trouble.' And I did." Clarke said as I remembered
** two days before Clarke's arrest**
"Are you sure its okay if I'm here?" Clarke asked for the umpteenth time.
"Babe I'm Lydia Kane if I say its okay that you're here. Then its okay." I said to her as I spun around in my chair to see her drawing.
"You're so damn cocky." She said as I snorted
"I mean duh." I said to her raising an eyebrow
"What are you working on anyways?" She asked as she got up from her chair to walk over to me as she tried to snatch my notebook from behind me.
"Clarke no stop.." I said as she managed to get the notebook as she flipped through the pages.
"Aww is this the house you dream of having on earth?" She asked with a huge smile as she tried to suppress the laughter
"Yes now give me that." I said as I took away the notebook as she took my face in her hands
"You are so cute." She said as she gave me a kiss
"I'm more than cute." I said as she kissed me again.
"I'm..." I said but Clarke kissed me again so I wasn't able to continue
"You're what?" She asked me as she didn't give me a chance to answer as she kissed me again.
"No ones going to walk in on us right?" She asked the we started to get more serious
"I have the door locked. Plus no one comes in my office." I told her as she took off her shirt.
"Good" she said as my computer beeped
"What is that?" She asked as I kissed her neck
"What's what?" I asked as she started to pull away
"That." She said as she left my arms to walk over to my computer
"Babe don't look at that you'll get in trouble." I told her as she gave me a cheeky smile
"Babe." I repeated as she didn't listen as she clicked on the results
"Clarke!"I yelled as I got up from my chair as I tried to close the computer but she had already started to read the results
"What....what does this mean why are the numbers so low?" She asked me as I stayed quiet
"Lydia what does this mean?" She asked again
"Clarke if I tell you, you can get imprisoned."I told her as I sighed as she wasn't budging
"Read it." I told her as she payed more attention to the numbers.
"Low air. Low air what..what does that mean the ark is running low on air?" She asked
"Don't worry we'll fix it like always." I told her as I draped my arms over her shoulders as she wrapped her arms around my waist
"You better." She said
** present**
"I remember. I was there." I told her
"You guys." I heard from above
"Yeah?" Clarke answered
"I can't feel my legs." Raven said sadly
I got up from my spot and climbed out of the hatch and over to Raven. I felt around her back as she cried out in pain as I felt the bullet
"Can you feel this?" I asked I scraped her leg with my screw driver as she shook her head.
"Raven the bullet has moved to your spine." I said as Finn walked in
"What the hell does that mean? I'll never be able to walk again?" She asked
"Not until I know the full extent of the injury I won't be able to tell you." I told her as I looked at Finn as I nodded him over to the side
"We need a coagulant." I said to him as he nodded
"I can go to Lincoln and see if he has some." He said as I nodded
"Yeah that'll help." I told him
"Hey the first of the grounders are appearing" he said as my heart raced
"I'll be out then." I said as he nodded as he ran out of the drop ship as I looked down the hatch
"Clarke I have go help with the grounders." I said as she whipped her head up to me
"You're leaving me?" She asked
"Raven will walk you through it. It'll be easy I fixed most of it." I said to her as she looked around
"I trust you." I said as I left her and picked up my backpack with bow and arrows before I ran out of the drop ship as I heard gunfire as I ran into one of the foxholes
"What the hell are you doing here Kane?" Bellamy asked me
"Fighting a war." I answered as I looked out into the dark woods and saw grounders moving back and fourth.
I notched and arrow followed a grounder before I let the arrow loose as it embedded itself into the grounders skull.
"Kane One Blake Zero." I said as he looked at me in horror
"That's sick." He said as I notched another arrow as I steadied it before I killed another grounder
"They aren't running towards us." I said as Miller and Monroe started shooting
"Don't shoot! Don't shoot they just want to draw out our bullets." Jasper said over the walkie talkie
"Too damn late. I'm all out of ammo" Miller said
"Me too." Monroe said next to me
"Fan fucking tastic." I said as I heard a landmine go off
"They worked" I said in awe as I heard Clarke's voice over the walkie
"Jasper I need you in the drop ship now!" She said as another landmine went off
"Hey overachiever." I heard behind me as I saw Leo with a new arrow bag
"Thought you might need these." She said
"You thought right." I said as I hanged it over my shoulder.
"Help! We need help! The grounders are coming towards us now! Theres three...no no wait five....I don't know we need help!" They said over the talkie
"I'll deal with it." Leo said as she disappeared
I could hear the bodies drop from here as I heard her talk over the walkie
"I took care of it." She said as I heard the war cry
"Did you take care of that?" I asked as I notched more arrows.
I quickly let them fly making sure I got them in the head as I saw bodies drop.
"Shit!" Miller said as he got shot with an arrow in his shoulder
"That wasn't me." I yelled as I put my bow and arrows away as I took out my sword as I heard something break through the atmosphere and for a minute all fighting stopped as we saw the ark falling to the ground.
"I'm going." I said to Bellamy as he looked at me crazy
"No you're not." He said
"Funny you think that I was asking for permission." I told him as I sheathed my sword
"You're not going anywhere." Bellamy said once again
"There will be guards and guns on that ark. I'm going." I said to him as he looked at me
"Come back to me will you?" He asked as I smiled
"I'll try. Keep my sister safe will you?" I asked as he nodded as I took off my gold medallion necklace and gave it to him.
"As a promise that I'll come back." I told him as he held it tightly in his hands before he put it on. He took me by surprise as he suddenly hugged me tightly. And even then with chaos all around us I relaxed in his arms as I rested my head on his shoulder.
"I have to go." I said as I pulled away. I started to run towards the tunnels as I looked back and saw that he was still looking after me.
"Where are you going?" Leo said out of nowhere
"Getting help." I said
"You're going to the ark." She said as I nodded
"Be safe out there." She said as she hugged me
"I just got you back." She said as I kissed her cheek.
"I'll be back before you know it." I said to her as I disappeared into the tunnels.
I could hear the chaos and the war cries as I reached the end of the tunnel. I went through the back of the camp since I couldn't go through the front.
I ran quickly through the woods towards the direction of the fallen ark. When suddenly I heard footsteps running behind me. I turned around to see three grounders after me.
"Fuck." I said I heard them say something in their language to me but that only made me run faster.
They called me a name that I've never heard in my life. I could feel them breathing down my neck as my lungs burned.
I jumped over a fallen tree. I turned around in hopes that they have fallen but to my surprise they were still behind me and closing the gap between us.
Maybe I should have listened to Bellamy and stayed at camp with him. Maybe I wouldn't be in my current situation.
"Shit." I said as my foot stepped into a hole in the ground which made me fall. I quickly got up but in that time that I fell the grounders had caught up.
I looked up at them as they circled me. I looked at them ready to fight till the very end. I reached for my sword but one of the grounders saw me reaching for my sword and it seemed as if he was trying to calm me down.
One of them picked me up and started talking to me.
"I don't know what you're saying." I told him as he repeated himself. I took the time that he was talking to take my sword out as the other grounders quickly went into action as one of them hit the back of my head as I fell to the ground.
The last thing I saw was one of the grounders picking me up as he said something to the grounder that hit me before I saw black.
