I was interrupted by Darren's voice. " Someone's in the house."
" Is the basement door locked?"
" Yes."
"I got to get back to my brother-"
" Emma, hurry, there near the basement door."
" Tell your friend to be at the theater by nine, tomorrow night," I said as I extended my wings. " Thank you for the help."
" Your welcome." He said as I flew away.
" Do you know how many people there are?"
" Just one. There opening the door, Em!"
" There is a metal baseball bat behind the stairs. Put a sheet over Steve and tell him to stay still, when the person comes in and goes to see what's under the sheet, you sneak up on them and hit them over the head."
" OK, please hurry!"
I tried my best to hurry, but some type of purple flash below me caught my eye.
I read whoever's mind that was causing that purple flash as I flew and noticed they were headed the same place I was.
" Who are you?" I asked. " And why are you going to my house."
No answer.
I swooped down and knocked whoever it was down.
He didn't smell like a Vampeneze, so he must have been a Vampire, but why was he heading for my house?
" Who are you?!" I yelled at the man who was getting up.
I couldn't read his mind now, it looks like he had blocked me from reading it.
" Your brothers are going to die with we do not hurry." The man said.
He had orange colored hair, brown eyes, and was dressed in a red trench coat, black button up shirt, black pants, and black dress shoes.
" Then we can talk later, I said as I flew up into the sky. " Follow my sent."
My back was killing me and I was so tired when we reached the house.
Before I entered the house, the smell of a Vampaneze filled my nose.
I made an ice sickle in my left hand so I could kill whoever was in here if I had to.
I made my way through to the basement, where I heard a clank.
I darted downstairs and kicked the Vampaneze that was near Darren.
" Sorry, it took so long," I told them. " I had to make sure he wasn't a threat."
"You're fine," Darren said as he got up. " Thanks for the save."
He took the sheet off of Steve.
He looked worse.
" Why are you after these children?" The Vampire asked the Vampeneze.
" It is none of your concern, Vampire." The Vampaneze said.
I took my ice sickle and stabbed the Vampaneze's right kneecap.
He screamed in pain.
" Why the hell are you after us!" I yelled. " And you better answer me unless you want more ice sickles stuck into out!"
The Vampire looked at me. I guess he wasn't expecting me to do that.
" I ain't telling you shit. Kabob me all you want to."
" Turn it down sis," Darren told me. " The neighbors might hear."
" Darren, go stand watch," I said as another ice sickle appeared in my left hand again. " Tell me if someone comes overhear or when you head sirens."
He went back upstairs, with the bat, and shut the basement door behind him.
The Vampaneze looked at me, fear clearly in his eyes.
