Over the past week, I've constantly been on the phone with Calum.
We Skyped two or three times.
I'm gonna see Calum today. I missed him so much!
I pushed myself off the bed and went to my closet.
I put on a Fall Out Boy band tee, black jeans and black and white Chucks.
After brushing my teeth and putting my hair in a high ponytail, I packed an extra outfit and undergarments into small bag. We're driving to Melbourne and staying overnight in a hotel. Mom doesn't want to drive at night.
I made sure to pack my charger.
When I made sure I had everything I needed packed, I went downstairs.
Mom was preparing breakfast.
"Good morning Helen," She said.
"Morning Mum," I replied.
"Only Luke calls me that," She laughed.
"yea, his Australian accent is rubbing off on me."
"Well let's eat then we'll get on the road."
"What about the guys' parents?" I asked.
"We're meeting them at the hotel in Melbourne," Mom replied.
I nodded.
We ate in silence.
When we finished eating, we grabbed our travel bag and got in the car.
My phone notified me that Calum had just posted a picture on Twitter. I checked the photo out and it was captioned, 'Melbourne show tonight! Gonna rock our asses off for you' It was a selfie with Michel. I giggled at the picture.
I put my headphones in and put my music on shuffle.
'Jesus of Suburbia' was the first song to play.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
It was a slow trip to Melbourne, but we finally arrived.
Mom parked in the hotel parking lot and we got out.
Turned out Anne Marie, Karen, and Joy had already arrived. Mom and I checked into the hotel and went into our seperate rooms.
I tossed my bag on the ground and jumped on the fluffy bed.
The white hotel sheets were neatly made. The room was cool.
I opened the sliding door to the balcony and stepped outside.
The city of Melbourne spread out before me.
Cars smoothly slid across the roads.
Not a cloud in the blue sky and the sun was shining brightly.
I was practically counting the minutes down for the show.
I couldn't contain my excitement for when I got to see Calum again.
"We're going up okay," Mom told me.
She was going with the guys' parents to the stalls. Which was the upper level of the Palais Theater.
"Helen please take care of Lauren and Harry for me," Anne told me.
I smiled, "Don't worry Anne, I'll be extra careful."
She nodded.
Ashton's sibling were going to watch the show from the front row.
We didn't want to the Stalls, we each decided the Orchestra was better. Right in front of the stage.
"C'mon!" Lauren shouted over the commotion.
We were surrounded by a variety of girls.
Harry tugged my hand and we rushed to get our seats.
The show would be starting in half an hour.
I had to push past a mob of people, I put Harry and Lauren in front of me so I won't lose them in the crowd.
We finally managed to get to the front row and we waited.
The lights dimmed and the crowd began to scream of excitement.
I joined the cheering.
My heart was beating fast.
Ash appeared on the stage first. He held his drumstick and the girls screamed loudly.
Next it was Michael, Luke and Calum.
They each held their guitars.
"WOOOO ASHTON!!" Lauren and Harry cheered.
I smiled at the boys.
The beginning guitar chorus and drums began to play.
I never heard of this song, it must've been a new song they produced.
Calum sang first, "Back in high school we used to take it slow, red lipstick on and high heel stilettos. Had a job downtown working the servo. Have me waiting in line couldn't even let go. Cause I never wanna be that guy who doesn't even get taste, no more having to chase to win the prize."
Luke sang next, "You're just a little bit out of my limit, it's been two years now haven't even seen the best of me and in my mind now i've been over this a thousand times and it's almost over. Let's start over."
After the guys played a couple songs, they stopped playing and spoke to the crowd for a while.
"How are you doing Melbourne?" Ashton asked into the microphone.
The girls screamed back.
I laughed.
"You all look so good. Beautiful faces out there," Calum said.
"We have exciting things planned out for the future. We won't give anything away," Luke added.
"I'm going to change the subject and we are all really excited for this show because our parents are in the crowd," Michael said.
The audience cheered.
"All right, this next song is called, what's it called Michael?" Luke asked.
"This is Try Hard!" Michael replied.
"WOOO!!!" We all shouted.
Ashton introduced the song, "1, 2, 3, 4!"
The guitars and drums followed.
Luke grabbed the microphone, "She's dropping out of school case she don't need the grades. The colors in her hair don't seem to fade. I get dressed up when I go out, but she gets dressed down."
"She's seventeen, I told her I'm twenty. I couldn't take her out cause Mum's got no money. It's stuff like this that makes me wish that I could change somehow." Calum looked so happy on stage.
It made me smile.
"Sitting here at home. She's so out of reach and I'm finding it hard cause she makes me feel, makes me feel like I try, like I try, Like I'm trying to hard. Cause I'm not being me and it's getting me down that she makes me think, makes me think that I try, that I try that I'm trying to hard again."
There was a small gap where the guitars and drums took place.
Calum stepped up to the microphone again. I wonder if he's noticed me yet.
"She's got a rose tattoo but she keeps it covered. I play guitar, but she's into drummers. She's seen my face around but she doesn't even know my name. I pierced my lip so she thinks I'm cool. I ripped my jeans and dropped out of school. I followed her around the town but she thinks that I'm a wierdo now."
"Sitting here at home. It's obvious she's so out of reach and I'm finding it hard cause she makes me feel, makes feel, like I try, like I try, like I'm trying to hard. Cause I'm not being me and it's getting me down that she makes me think, makes me think, like I try, like I try, Like I'm trying to hard again
"But now who knew. That she's in the crowd of my shows. Nothing to lose, she's standing right in the front row," Luke pointed to the front row and the girls screamed. We made eye contact and he smiled widely before singing again, "The perfect view, cause she came along on her own and there's something that you should know. You're so out of reach and I'm finding it hard cause you make me feel, make me feel, yeah she makes me feel. It obvious she's so out of reach and I'm finding it hard cause she makes me feel, makes me feel like I try, like I try, like I'm trying to hard again"
I smiled like crazy at Luke.
Calum didn't notice me until they played Disconnected and when he did, he almost said my name into the microphone. Fortunately he only mouthed it.
"We get so disconnected."
I was jumping up and down with Lauren and Harry. We cheered occasionally.
"Can't see very well," Harry said.
"I'd give you a piggy back ride, but I don't think I can carry you for very long," Lauren said.
"Get on my back, Harry. I'll carry you," I suggested.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yea!" I replied.
Harry jumped on my back and put his hands on my shoulders. I held his legs.
"Better?" I asked.
"Definitely!" He replied.
I carried Harry for an hour until he finally decided to get down.
We enjoyed the rest of the show.
"Thank you all for coming out tonight!" Michael said.
"We are 5 Seconds of Summer. We hope you enjoyed the show," Calum added.
"Love you all!" Luke said.
"Good night Melbourne!" Ashton concluded.
We screamed and cheered.
The guys performed amazingly!
Absolutely blew my mind.
Lauren, Harry, and I couldn't stop cheering and jumping up and down.
After a couple of minutes, my Mum and the guys' parents came to meet us.
We were gonna met the band backstage. We started going to the entrance and the security guard waved us in.
The guard led the way and soon, the boys were standing there. Waiting for us.
All four of them were smiling widely at us.
I wasn't sure who to hug first. Luke or Calum?
I ran to Luke first and threw my arms around him.
He squeezed me tightly.
After he put me down, he hugged our Mum.
"You did great Luke! You are all naturals on stage," I said.
"It took us a while to get used to it," Luke admitted. "Pretty sure we looked like idiots in the first two shows. It's still a little hard."
I laughed.
"Helen," Someone called.
I turned around and felt someone pick me off the ground.
It was Calum.
I remembered the strong, tight grip he always had on my waist.
I wrapped my arms around him and held him.
"I missed you so much baby," He whispered.
"I missed you too Cal-Pal," I said.
I heard him laugh.
After he put me down, we shared a kiss, but I ended it quickly.
"Why did you stop?" He asked.
"Just wait til we get back to my hotel room," I whispered in his ear.
He grinned.
After we had a small celebratory dinner at a nice restaurant, we headed back to the hotel.
Calum was sharing a room with Michael, but tonight he told him he was staying with me.
My room was on the 6th floor.
Calum and I stepped in the elevator.
The doors slowly closed and I pressed the button to the 6th floor.
"You know what I've always wanted to try?" Calum asked.
"What?"
"This."
He suddenly pinned me against the elevator wall and pressed his lips to mine.
He intertwined our fingers together and moved his lips to my jaw and down my neck.
The sound of someone clearing their throat is what broke us apart.
I quickly pushed Calum away and a small old lady was standing at the open doors.
We didn't hear the elevator announce we arrived at our floor.
She chuckled when we both turned bright red.
This old lady caught us reenacting the elevator scene from '50 Shades of Grey.'
"Oh dears, I've been there too. Don't be ashamed. Be safe now, child," She said.
"Thank you," I mumbled and I exited the elevator with Calum behind me.
When the doors finally closed, Calum burst out laughing.
"That's not funny," I growled.
"Oh, c'mon Helen! It was really funny," He said.
I let a small laugh escape my lips.
I grabbed my key to my room and unlocked it.
"Hold on," I said and rushed into the bathroom.
I quickly brushed my teeth.
Did I shave? I asked myself.
"Yea," I whispered to no one in particular.
I went back into the room.
"You got a nice view, my room only has a view of the pool," Calum said. "Which would be a good thing if you wore that little black two-piece you tried to hide from me."
I felt my face get hot.
"Look, I brought 5 condoms, if you get lucky we might use half of them," I said.
"Fuck yeah!" He exclaimed.
"That's if you get lucky," I reminded him.
"This is better than the birthday sex we had!"
I arched a brow.
"Yea, you're right, birthday sex is always better."
I laughed and we kissed again.
Calum threw me on the bed and hovered over me as he kissed me down to my neck.
This time we were both engulfed in the heated flames of lust and passion.
And this was a fire only Calum could put out.
