I decided on a white dress shirt and a black tie to go along with it. I wore my usual black tight jeans and black converse. I brushed my teeth and ran my fingers through my hair and made sure I put on some deodorant. I sprayed on some cologne, slipped my phone into my pocket and grabbed my keys.
"Hey, Mum, I'll be back later," I said.
"You look so handsome, Calum!" She exclaimed.
I smiled at her, "Thanks."
"Don't forget to open the door for her, walk her to the door, compliment her outfit, don't be awkward, and just be a gentleman to her," She said.
"I know, Mum, it's not my first date."
She smiled.
I kissed her cheek and left out the door. I got into my car and drove towards a flower shop.
When I got to the shop I got out and walked into the door.
There was all kinds of flowers and colors.
Does she even like flowers?
And if she does what kind?
Daisies?
Tulips?
Roses?
"Can I help you with something?"
I turned around. A woman about forty or fifty stood behind me.
"Yea, I want to get flowers for my date," I said.
She smiled, "Ah, I see. Is she your girlfriend?"
Hopefully, soon.
"No, not yet," I replied.
"Okay, first date?"
"Yes."
"Well, I think you should go with the classic red roses," She said.
"Really?"
"Yes, what girl doesn't like roses?"
I nodded.
She walked over to a white bucket full of roses. She picked out twelve and went to the counter. I followed. She made the stems shorter and wrapped them in a simple white cloth, then tied a black ribbon around the cloth. They looked perfect.
"$10.59," She said.
I brought out my wallet and gave her the money. She gave me the change and handed me the roses.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"Your welcome," She replied and I walked out and got back into my car. I carefully placed the roses on the passenger's seat and started the car. It was at 5:50. I'll make it in time. I drove off and blasted some Blink-182. 'First Date' started playing.
"Seriously?" I asked to myself, but couldn't help but smile.
After a couple of minutes I was parked outside their house. I turned the engine off and took a deep breath. I felt my heartbeat getting faster. I popped two breath mints in my mouth. I brushed my teeth before I came, but I just want to be sure and be fresh.
I looked at myself in the mirror. Good enough.
I grabbed the roses and opened the door.
I walked on the driveway and towards the door.
I took exhaled and rung to doorbell.
I'm usually really confident when it comes to going on a date with a girl. But not this time. My heart is beating fast and I feel all flustered.
The door was unlocking and my heartbeat quickened. The door swung open to reveal Luke standing there. He folded his arms and leaned against the threshold.
A smirk appeared on his lips and he raised an eyebrow.
"Well, Calum, you sure are trying," He said trying to laugh. "Although I gotta say, the roses were a nice touch. She loves them."
"Sure hope that wasn't sarcasm," I said.
"Oh it isn't. I'm being honest here, mate. Don't take it too seriously. Messing with the sister's date is part of rule book. Plus it's my first time doing this so I'm having a blast," He said.
"You know if you are going to be like that I should start calling you Dad," Helen said.
Luke snorted and turned to look at her, I couldn't see her yet. I'm dying to get a look at her.
He turned back to look at me.
"Take good care of her and don't let anything happen to her," Luke said.
"Absolutely," I replied.
He nodded.
Helen bounded down the stairs and she took my breath away.
She wore a black dress that was short in the front then flowed down in the back. Her hair was wavy and looked somewhat curly. She looked so perfect. Gorgeous.
She had a sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes. Her lips were slightly ajar as she stared at me. I smiled at her and she smiled back. Flashing me with brilliant white teeth.
"Luke I can take it from here," She said.
Luke gave me one last look and disappeared into the kitchen.
Helen smiled at me.
"These are for you," I said and handed her the bouquet.
"Calum they are amazing! Thank you," She took them. "Hold on, I'm going to put these in water." She went into the kitchen.
After a while she came back.
"Ready to go?" I asked.
"yea," She replied and smiled.
"Have fun," Luke called out.
He closed the door and Helen turned to me, she hooked her arm through mine. I laughed and started walking her towards my car.
"By the way you look gorgeous!" I said.
She blushed, "Thank you, Calum. You look pretty handsome yourself."
"Why thank you."
I opened the car door for her, she thanked me and got in. I closed the door and went over the side of the car. I jumped in and put the keys in the ignition. I started the car an drove off.
"So where are we going?" She asked.
"You'll see. Be patient, sweetheart," I said.
She snorted.
After a while we arrived at Panda Express. I looked over at her, waiting for her reaction.
"Are you serious?" She asked.
I frowned "Yea, you're right, let's go somewhere else."
"No, Calum! I don't like fancy dinners, this is perfect!" She beamed.
I smiled, "Let's got then," I said and got out. I opened the the car door for her.
She got out and we walked through the door.
We ordered our food and I paid.
"Are we eating here?" She asked.
"Of course not," I said.
She laughed and we walked back out. I opened her door and she took the food.
I got in and drove off to our next destination.
The sun had gone down and the first traces of stars started appearing in the night sky.
I stopped the car in front of a huge screen. there were other cars parked around us too.
"Are we at a drive in?" Helen asked.
"You like it?" I asked.
"I love it!" She exclaimed and threw her arms around me. I hugged her back. She is so perfect.
The movie started and she fell back into her seat.
I handed her the food and chopsticks. She took it, "Thanks."
"Your welcome."
"What movie is it?" She asked.
"I don't know," I replied.
She laughed, "good enough"
The movie ended up being 'The Great Gatsby.' It was a really good movie.
The food was really good, of course. We put our trash back in the bag.
Helen pressed her body against mine. She nestled her head in my chest. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close.
Gatsby ended up dying. Wow. Nice ending.
"That's messed up," Helen said when the movie ended.
"I know, no one went to the funeral. Ready to go to another location?" I asked.
"Calum this night is already the best, what do you have in store for me?" She asked.
"You'll see," I smirked.

Calum looks so, what's the word? Hot! I could see his muscles through the tight white shirt.
He was such a gentleman. And he had already treated me like such a queen. What else is he going to do?
Calum drove through the night, headlights on and he stared at the road ahead. I looked at him. His perfect puffy lips and sharp jawline.
A smile appeared on his lips.
"Why are you staring at me?" he chuckled.
"Just admiring how good you look," I admitted.
"I'm suppose to admire your beauty," Calum said.
I laughed.
We drove on a cliff roadway. I looked up at the sky. The stars looked beautiful.
The car slowed to a stop and I looked over at Calum. He was already staring back at me. I blushed.
"Come on," He said and got out. I opened my door so Calum won't have to do it. I stared over the cliff and the city spread before us. Lights from the buildings sparkled in the dark.
"Calum, it's beautiful!" I exclaimed.
"I like to come here when I need time to think. And I wanted to share it with you," he replied.
He wrapped an arm around my waist and placed me on the hood of his car. He slid back until he was leaning against the windshield. I lay next to him and hugged his stomach. He held me tight as we both looked up at the sky.
"You cold?" he asked.
"No, I'm fine," I reply honestly.
"You sure?"
"Positive."
He pulled me closer. Suddenly he started sing 'A Sky Full of Stars' one of my favorite Coldplay songs.
He has such an amazing voice.
He stopped singing.
"Why'd you stop? That's one of my favorite songs."
"You're so beautiful," Calum said.
I didn't say anything, I was tongue tied.
This boy gives me a feeling that I can't find.
After a while of sitting there enjoying the view, I slid off the hood. My feet touched the ground. I felt Calum next to me. I stood up and he grabbed my waist and pulled me towards him. I turned around and Calum crushed his lips against mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck. He tightened his grip on my waist. His tongue grazed my bottom lip. He was begging for an entrance. That's whe I pulled away.
"Not yet," I said mockingly
"You're such a tease," he said and kissed the hollow of my collarbone. Goosebumps rose where his lips touched my skin.
He stood up and towered over me. I
"Should get you home, it's at ten," Calum said..
"Right, home," I said.
"You don't want to go back?" He asked.
"Just was having a lot of fun with you," I replied.
"I did too, glad you enjoyed yourself."
Calum walked to the door and opened it for me. I got in and he closed it again.
The rest of the ride home we had our fingers intertwined.
He parked outside my house and we got out.
"Thanks for taking me out Calum," i said.
"No problem," he replied.
We reached the door and I turned to Calum. He smiled widely at me. I laughed.
He leaned in and lightly grazed my lips. I pulled him closer and deepened the kiss. I pulled away and smiled at him.
"Fuck." he said.
"What?" I asked.
"You just left me wanting more," he replied. I smirked at him.
"I'll text you tomorrow," He said.
"Okay," I said and unlocked the door.
"Good night, beautiful," he said.
"Good night, Calum."
He smiled and stuffed his hands in his pockets before walking down the driveway and back to his car. I closed the door behind me and squealed. Calum is so perfect and to know his feelings are right back is just amazing. I really like him. No denying that.
