-

I was surprised to see that there was hot water in this place, and electricity.

I stepped into the shower, hot water hitting my back.

I used the coconut shampoo and lathered my hair up before rinsing and massaging conditioner into my hair.

After washing my face and my body, I wrapped a towel around my body and stepped out of the tub.

-

"Take the bed, I'll take the couch." Shane stated.

"No, I'll take the couch. You carried me a long ways, your back is probably already hurting. The couch will make it worse." I replied.

"It doesn't even matter. We can both sleep in the bed unless it'll bother you." He replied.

"It won't bother me." I replied.

He pulled back the covers and lied down, and I did the same.

"Why'd you tell The Governor that I was on my own?" I asked, turning my head to look at him.

"If anyone tells him about the prison, he'll try to take it over. This place belonged to another group of people but he ran them out of here." He answered.

"What?" I asked, raising up on my elbow.

"He's dangerous, and not many people know it. He's got Andrea wrapped around his finger, and she doesn't believe anything I've told her about him." He replied.

"How do you know all of this?" I inquired.

"I'm with him almost every day, I see his true colors, and I know him better than anyone else here." He replied.

"Shane, if he is as dangerous as you say he is and he finds out you're telling people this, he'll kill you." I stated.

He looked across the room before looking back at me.

"I want you to stay away from him tomorrow when we're leaving. I don't trust him, you shouldn't either." He replied.

I nodded, laying back down.

I turned over, my back facing him.

"Why do you trust me after everything I done?" He asked.

"It's in the past, now. It doesn't matter anymore as long as you're not like that." I replied.

"I'm not." He replied.

"Good." I stated.

"Sam," He mumbled, his hand moving my hair back from my face.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Is this okay?" He asked, putting his arm over my side and pulling me into him.

"Yeah." I replied, placing a hand on his arm.

--

I walked into the prison, everyone asking me where I was.

"With Shane at his community." I replied to Maggie.

"Community?" Carl asked.

"Yeah. Streets, apartments, houses, buildings, and there's people that are completely oblivious as to what is out here." I replied.

I smiled, Daryl handing me the baby.

"We came up with a name!" Carl exclaimed.

"What is it?" I inquired.

"Judith." He replied.

"That's beautiful." I replied.

He smiled, looking over to Daryl.

"She's grown overnight." I declared.

-

"Dad came back." Carl stated, sitting down on my bed.

"Did he? Where is he?" I asked.

"Oh, and there's five new people." He replied.

"Wow. You leave one night and everything happens." I stated.

"Where are they? Where's your dad?" I inquired.

"Well, dad made them leave. And I don't know, the last time I seen him he was talking to himself." He answered.

I pulled my hair up into a ponytail, finally putting my things up into my dresser.

"He was looking for you, too." Carl stated.

"I'll go find him." I replied.

"Can I help?" Carl asked, picking up my string of lights.

"Sure." I replied.

"At least they're battery powered." He replied.

I laughed, nodding my head.

"I miss mom, a lot." He mumbled.

"I know you do, and I miss her too. We'll make it, though. She'll help us out from up there." I replied, placing a small area rug down by my bed that Beth got me.

-

I looked up at the closest watch tower, Rick leaning against the railing.

I walked up the steps of the watch tower, finally reaching the top.

"You're back." I stated, keeping my distance.

"You are too." He replied.

"Yeah. I was with Shane at his camp." I mumbled.

"It must be nice." He replied.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Not everyone's love can come back like that, so it must be nice." He answered.

"Rick, I could've hated you for what you did, but I chose not to because I understood why you did it. He was gone." I replied.

"What if I killed Lori? You'd kill me. I know you would." I continued.

He scoffed, taking a few steps toward me.

"How do I know you didn't kill her in the boiler room?" He asked.

"Are you stupid? Why would I do that? I don't care what she done, she was still my best friend. You're crazy if youthink I intentionally killed her!" I yelled.

He shook his head, walking back over to the railing.

"The fact that you'd even let that in your mind breaks my heart." I stated.

He turned around, looking at the ground.

"Ask Carl or Maggie." I spat, turning around.

-

I walked down the road, my flashlight going out.

I quickly turned around, hearing a twig snap.

I shined my flashlight, seeing someone in all black before they ran away.

I left the prison about twenty minutes ago, done with everyone's bull crap.

I walked toward Woodbury, people shining a light on me.

"Put your hands up!" Someone yelled.

I put my hands up, the light blinding me.

"Why are you here?" A girl asked.

"To see someone." I answered.

"Where'd you come from?" She inquired.

"The road." I lied.

"Who are you wanting to see?" She interrogated.

"Shane Walsh." I answered.

"Why?" She asked.

"I need to see him, okay? It's important. There's a huge herd of walkers coming this way, and you need to do something about it." I replied.

I wasn't lying, there is a huge herd coming from where Shane and I were the other day.

"Where?" She inquired.

"Just let her up, Sasha." A man ordered.

"Hand us your weapons when you come up." The man added.

I climbed the ladder, now in front of the two people.

I handed them my weapons, the man still looking at me.

"Did you come from the prison?" He asked.

"You don't have to lie. You're very clean, you look healthy, and you smell good." The girl stated.

"I did." I mumbled.

"We were there the other day. Did the leader make you leave too?" She asked.

"No, I chose to leave for now. He's going through a rough time, he lost his wife." I answered.

"Oh." She mumbled.

"I was here when you guys were there. One of the kids told me there were five new people, I asked where you went and he said his dad made you leave. I'm sorry about that." I replied.

"It's fine. We understand." The man replied.

"We'd be glad to have you all there, but he just needs time." I replied.

"I'm Sasha." The girl stated, handing me my weapons.

"I'm Tyreese." The man stated.

I smiled, introducing myself to them.

"Do you like it here?" I asked.

"It's better than what we had." Tyreese answered.

"If you ever want to come back to the prison, I'll make sure you can stay. If I was there when you did, I wouldn't have let you left." I replied.

"We appreciate it." Sasha replied.

"Do you know where Shane is? I forgot." I replied.

"We're still kinda new here, but I'm pretty sure he's in apartment building B." Sasha replied.

"Thanks! That's the part I forgot." I replied, smiling.

-

I knocked on Shane's door to his apartment, kinda regretting even coming here.

Actually, I don't even know why I came here.

I turned around, about to leave when he opened the door.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, letting me in.

"I got in a argument with Rick, and here I am." I answered.

"What happened?" He inquired.

"He thinks I killed Lori." I replied.

Shane scoffed, shutting the door behind me.

"Have you been crying?" He asked.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Why?" He inquired.

"I was mad." I answered.

"Why'd you come here?" He interrogated.

"I've been questioned enough tonight." I replied.

"I'm sorry but you can't stay here." He replied.

"I wasn't staying, I just stopped here on my way to somewhere." I replied.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"I don't know." I answered.

"I was joking, by the way." He replied.

I rolled my eyes, unwrapping the paper towel from around my hand.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Stop asking so many questions, oh my God." I replied.

"What happened?" He asked.

"I had an accident with a walker." I replied.

"You got bit?" He inquired.

"No, I cut it when I was trying to hold the walker away and stab it at the same time." I replied.

"How'd you do that?" He interrogated.

I narrowed my eyes, trying not to rip his head off.

"I don't know, stuff happens." I replied.

He lead me into the bathroom, allowing me to use his little first aid kit.

I rubbed some kind of antiseptic on it before wrapping gauze around my hand.

"Thanks." I mumbled, taping the gauze off.

"So are you staying?" He asked.

"Nah, I should go back before they all freak out." I replied.

"You can stay, I was honestly joking." He stated.

"I don't want to. I came here to ask you something." I replied.

"What is it?" He asked.

"When I was walking here, I heard something in the woods behind me, and I looked and saw someone." I replied.

He crossed his arms, listening to what I was saying.

"Does anyone know me from here?" I asked.

"Just Andrea and Phillip." He answered.

"Who's Phillip?" I asked.

"The Governor." He replied.

"Would he have someone following me?" I inquired.

"I don't know, but you're defiantly not leaving now." He replied.

"I have to go take care of Judith, it's my turn tonight." I replied.

"Judith?" He asked.

"The baby. Carl came up with the name." I answered.

"I'm sure someone else can take care of her tonight." He replied.

"Not really. Maggie and Glenn have watch, Rick's everywhere but where he's supposed to be, we can't find Carol or T-Dog, Daryl wouldn't, so I'm the only one left able to." I replied.

"Hershel? Beth?" He asked.

"They watched her last night. It's my turn." I answered.

"At least let me walk you out there." He replied.

I nodded, following behind him.

I climbed up the ladder, Tyreese helping me up.

"Hey, man." Tyreese greeted Shane while I had a quick conversation with Sasha.

"If you two get tired of standing on these all night, come back to the prison. I won't let Rick run you off." I replied.

"Thanks." Sasha replied with a light laugh.

"Be careful." Shane told me as I climbed down the ladder.

"I'm always careful." I replied.

He scoffed, a smirk on his lips.

After a few minutes of walking, someone in a black cape and outfit ran at me with a knife.

I screamed, the knife slicing my stomach.

Before the person ran off, he stabbed my bad shoulder.

I screamed again, trying to reach for my pistol.

I shot twice and missed, watching as he ran off into the woods.

I dropped to my knees, an arrow shooting into my side.

I turned around the best I could, shooting the person running down the road.

I watched him fall to the ground before screaming as a walker attacked him.

Tears blocked my vision as I tried to pull the knife out of my shoulder.

It wouldn't budge and my stomach was bleeding more.

I screamed, a hand wrapping around my mouth and another pulled the knife out of my shoulder.

"Shh, it's me. It's okay." Rick mumbled, releasing the hand that was covering my mouth.

I watched as he cut off one end of the arrow before covering my mouth again.

I screamed, Rick pulling the arrow out in one pull.

I looked around, not noticing the truck until now.

I grimaced, Rick picking me up and putting me in the passenger seat.

"We've been looking for you everywhere!" Carl exclaimed from the backseat.

"How'd you find me?" I asked, my chest heaving up and down.

"He parked the truck and got out, and then we heard a scream." Carl replied.

I cursed, raising my shirt up to see blood dripping down my body and onto the seat.

Rick floored the gas pedal, and we got to the prison in no time.

-

"Hold her down." Hershel ordered Rick as I came to.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You passed out earlier." Rick replied, holding my good shoulder down.

I bit my lip, feeling the needle thread stitches into the wound on my stomach.

My breathing got faster as I tried to deal with the pain.

"Shit, ye could've gave her some alcohol or somethin'." Daryl stated, watching from the doorway.

I squeezed my eyes shut, Hershel still stitching my cut.

"She's lost so much blood I don't know how she's still alive." Hershel declared.

"Does she need blood?" Maggie asked.

"Right now." He replied.

Rick volunteered, sticking his arm out since we had same the blood type.

I looked up at him, beginning to squirm around as the needle went deeper.

His eyes met mine and I didn't feel pain for a second.

"Almost done, sweetie." Hershel declared.

"How is she not passing out?" Maggie asked.

"She's a tough one." Hershel replied.

I mentally scoffed at his response.

"Now the shoulder." Hershel stated.

"Do you mind if I cut your shirt off?" Hershel asked.

"I don't care." I replied.

"Men, you can exit now." Hershel stated.

Daryl, Carl, and Glenn leaving the room after he said that.

Maggie pulled the curtain of the cell I was in, and Hershel began cutting away at my shirt.

I looked over to Rick, watching as blood was being pulled from his arm.

I grimaced and looked away, Hershel pouring alcohol in the stab wound.

I hissed, cursing every breath.

"You need stitches here too." He declared, cleaning the needle.

I turned my head, watching as Maggie got done with Rick's arm.

A tear fell out of my eye as Hershel began stitching my stab wound up.

I looked at Rick, his eyes so sad.

I hadn't really noticed how Lori's death took a toll on him other than him leaving for a few days.
