Riley's POV
The ride home is quiet. I have tried to talk to mom on the way to the car but she just ignores me.
"Mom-"
"Mrs Ridgely to you."
"I didn't steal anything, I swear on my own life! I would never-"
"I don't want to hear it right now. We will go home, me and Mr Ridgely will have a discussion and then we'll talk to you." She says, keeping her eyes in the road.

I trail behind Mrs Ridgely and Taylor as we walk into the house. The smell of supper hits me.
"Good you're home for supper. It will be done in about ten minutes." Mr Ridgely says cheerfully. We all murmur an okay.
"Get anything today Ri?" Mr Ridgely asks, pulling me into a fatherly side hug.
"No, she didn't. Riley, go to your room while I speak to Mr Ridgely about this ordeal." Mrs Ridgely orders.
"What ordeal?" I hear Mr Ridgely ask while I sadly walk to my room.

"That can't be true. Riley would never do that." I hear Mr Ridgely say.
Him and his wife were discussing this whole "stealing and lying" situation in the home office. Which is right under my bedroom.
"That's what I would like to believe. But everyone else agreed with the Michelle girl and said that Riley did it."
"Okay then so what if she did it? She was clearly going through a tough situation at the time and was troubled. She won't do it now."
"Well she lied about doing it. So who says that she won't steal again or lie again?"
"We will make sure she doesn't. She probably lied about not doing it because she is ashamed of doing it."
"If someone has the nerve to do it once, they still have the nerve to do it again. And I don't want that influence around Taylor."
"Well what are we going to do now? We can't just get rid of her and I don't want to just get rid of her."
"Is there anyway we can call the adoption agency? Tell them the situation and see what they say?"
"How about we just leave it for now? Just treat her normally and see what happens?"
"Fine we'll do that."
I'm shocked. How could they think if just throwing me away like that? And how can they not believe me?
"Supper's ready!" I hear from downstairs. But instead I stay in my room. I grab a bag and start packing.
