Riley's POV

My plan is quite simple really. Since my father works late on Wednesdays, I'll go to James's house for supper, and leave just in time so I can make supper really quick and before my father will be home and he'll never know.

"Ready babe?" James asks me at the end of the day. Michelle's head whips around and glares. I blush.

"Yes, and don't call me babe." I scold.

"Alright, alright." He says as we start walking. "But I do need to call you something else."

"Why?" I ask.

"Just a nickname. Something nobody else calls you." He says.

"Go ahead and think of something." I reply.

"Do your dad have a nickname for you?" He asks.

Several names float into my head. Pathetic. Useless. And some others that I shouldn't say.

"No." I finally say.

"Okay." He says, and starts thinking.

"How about Ri?" I ask dully. He shakes his head.

"Too simple." He says.

"Then what are you gonna do?" I ask.

"How about Riles?"

"Riles?"

"Yeah."

"But why?"

"It's different and I'm sure nobody else calls you that." He replies.

"Alright. If you want to call me Riles, then you can." I agree.

"Thanks Riles." He says with a smirk. It was silent for a while as I tried to think of something to say.

"Michelle told me to stay away from you." I say softly. He gives me a puzzled look.

"When? Why?" He asks.

"When you told me to talk to the girls, and because apparently your hers." I explain.

"Don't listen to her Riles. If I'm anyone's, I'm defiantly y-" He stops mid sentence.

  "What?" I ask.

  "Um, nothing." He says quickly.
