You would think I would get used to the sounds water made, having spent so much time on this ship over the years. Of course, it didn't help that every time I started to relax, HE would pop up with that happy-go-lucky attitude of his. It's not like I didn't like cheerful people, but he was such a flirt! And he didn't even seem to realize he was doing it half the time!!
Sighing in defeat, I finally gave up trying to take a nap and walked back to the deck, determined to at least enjoy the sun that was warming the other passengers. Finally stepping into the bright light that was shining down, I lifted my face up to gaze at the few white clouds that were slowly floating across the otherwise clear, blue sky.
"(y/n)! There you are! I was wondering where you had gone to! I was starting to think you didn't like my company anymore, but here you are again!" The loud teen grabbed one of my hands as he talked excitedly, his eyes wide as they kept glancing down once in a while before looking back up to meet my eyes.
As I watched this repeat several times, I had to fight not to slap him as his cheeks grew slightly darker. I could almost see the thoughts starting to parade through his perverted mind. Pulling my hand from his grasp, I sighed at him.
"Look, just because you hired my dad to sail you around on this little cruise, does not mean it is my job to entertain you. Let alone to allow you to stare at my chest like that, so please try to keep your eyes above my neckline during this trip. Thanks, bye." I grumbled as I turned and walked away.
Two days and I could barely stand the boy already. This is why I would rather date someone a couple years older than me. All the guys my age were so... immature! Sighing, I went to see what the other guests were doing. Someone had to make sure nobody tried something stupid, like setting the boat on fire.
After all, these people were HIS friends, so who knew what they might get themselves up to. The more I thought about it the faster my feet moved, taking me away from the 17 year old boy behind me. I could feel his eyes slowly drop to focus on my backside as I let out a frustrated sigh.

Well, at least the day had finally ended without any major catastrophes. Yeah, someone had nearly flooded the bathroom and someone else had drunk themselves nearly into a coma, but everyone was alive and breathing at the end of the night with the boat still afloat. Not for lack of some idiot trying to sink it, but that is what plungers are for, right?
Feeling a shiver of disgust from the memory of that event, I walked down the hall and into my cabin. I'd more than earned myself a good sleep tonight. After a relaxing shower, of course. I'd just finished taking off my shirt when I heard a knock on the door.
Having a feeling I knew who it was, I ignored it and started removing my pants, deciding the shower waiting for me was far more important than my fathers 'guest' was. It wasn't until the handle started turning in place that I realized I hadn't locked the door.
"Hello? (y/n)? Are you in here? I was wondering if you knew where any of the spare tow-" His sentence trailed off as he stepped into the room and froze, eyes wide as he stared at my half-naked body. My hands quickly came up to try and cover my chest after I'd pulled my pants back up from my knees, a scream filling the air as I raced into the private bathroom behind me. I could feel my cheeks begin burning from the embarrassed blush that spread across my face down to my chest.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to see you like that! Not that you don't look great, but I just wanted a towel and thought you might know where they are! And you really do look great! But I'll leave now and ask someone else for a towel! Yeah... Sorry again!" I could hear both embarrassment and happiness in his voice before I heard the door shut behind him.
Peeking out of the bathroom, I raced through the empty room and quickly turned the lock, ensuring I would not be interrupted again. Forgetting about the shower, I dragged myself to the bed and laid down, exhaustion hitting me hard. I bet the pervert was in his room thinking about what he'd seen.
I feel asleep to thoughts of all the different ways I could torture the guy without anyone knowing it was me.

At the end of the first week, I was regretting coming on this trip with Dad. How the heck was I supposed to survive an six weeks of this torture? Every time I turned around, that pervert Sinbad was staring at me, a blush tinting his cheeks as his eyes glazed over. The amount of times I had to hold back from slapping him across the face was becoming ridiculous.
At least the cute redhead tried to be more polite, apologizing when he was caught staring too long. That and he was less inclined to stare at me, more interested in one of the female guests that had been invited on the month long cruise.
Giving another sigh, I saw the purple-haired pervert walking towards me with a smile. I was about to turn around and leave, when I saw the fishing poles in his hands. What the heck was he doing with those?
"Hey, your dad told me you liked to fish, so I thought I would see if you wanted to try catching something with me... You know... As an apology for my behavior lately. I'm really sorry... I've just never been around someone as pretty as you before... I know that's not an excuse but it's still true. So, please forgive me? I'd like to try again and see if we can at least be friends. Please (y/n)? Think we can start over again and pretend none of that stuff happened?" The fact that he'd managed to say all that without looking away from my eyes once shocked me, making me realize that he was actually serious about this. Maybe, just maybe...
"Hi, my name is (y/n) and it's a pleasure to meet you, sir. I hope you enjoy the cruise!" Holding my hand out with a small grin, I figured if he started behaving like he'd been before, I could always throw him overboard.
"My name's Sinbad! It's a pleasure to meet you (y/n). I hope we can become good friends!" Seeing the cute smile that curved his lips upward, I couldn't help the smallest of blushes from appearing on my cheeks.
Wait... Did I just think he was cute?

It was at the end of the second week when we docked at the first of the three islands we would be spending some time at. This one was my favorite, as it was large but still mostly unexplored by most people. A friend of my dad's had bought it with the desire to make sure that it retained its forested beauty for as long into the future as possible.
In exchange for checking up on the island from time to time for the busy man, we were allowed to bring guests here as long as we made sure they did not make any messes or destroy any of the habitats that existed on the sheltered island. Most guests just lounged on the shore enjoying the soft sand of the beach or swam in the waters looking at the brightly colored fish.
As for myself, I would always climb the almost hidden path that led up the high cliffs surrounding the forested interior of the island. Today, however, would be the first time I had ever brought someone with me into the hidden jewel of the island. Most people only ever saw the cliffs and the very few that noticed the path never had the guts to try climbing it, most of them waiting for the easier to reach forests of the other two islands.
If they knew what they were missing, they would forget all about those other islands and spend the whole two weeks of dock time here instead. That is why me and Dad never told any of them about the treasure that lay on the other side of those high cliffs, since most of them would likely spoil the area by hacking their way through the forest.
Sinbad though, I had a feeling he wouldn't do anything like that if he knew it would upset me. That is why I was letting him come with me on this adventure. Besides, he'd told me he always wanted to go on a real adventure, which is why he wanted to go on this cruise. He'd been hoping that something exciting would happen, so today I was going to make sure it did.
Leading him up the path towards the top of the cliff, I told him to stop just before he could see what was on the other side. Placing my hands gently over his eyes, I very carefully led him the last few steps up the pathway, stopping at my favorite spot to view the emerald green forest that lay below us.
Removing my hands, I watched his face as a look of shock spread over him, his bright golden eyes growing wider the longer he stared at the mass of trees. I smiled when I saw him turn his head slightly at the sound of birds calling to each other, something you could only hear once you reached the tops of the cliffs that usually blocked those sounds.
"It's beautiful, isn't it Sinbad? That's why me and Dad work so hard to keep it a secret. You're the first person I've ever brought here, the first person I ever told about it even. I'm trusting you to keep it a secret, even from your friends and family. I... I've never trusted anyone like this before... I'm not even sure why I trust you like this, but I do." It's true, I'd only known this boy for two weeks but I already trusted him more than I did my own friends back home.
"I promise this secret will follow me to my grave. I won't betray your trust in me. You're too important to me." The seriousness of his voice was almost startling, so different from his usually casual but friendly attitude.
Still, his earnest words made me smile at him, a heaviness I hadn't noticed before easing from my shoulders. I wouldn't doubt him anymore. From today on, I would give him my trust without holding back. After all, we'd become good friends this past week.
Grabbing his hand, I began leading him down the inner path to the forest floor. I wanted to share this secret place with him today. And if we was willing, we could come back tomorrow too, before Dad took us all to the next island.
Looking ahead of us down the path, I never noticed the blush that warmed Sinbad's face, nor the way his eyes darkened just a bit from their usual bright gold.

I really didn't care for this place. The second island had become such a tourist trap that I could only be glad it was three full days of travel away from the hidden gem we had left behind. At least it kept them from trying to spread their wasteful ways to that place.
Sadly, we would be spending three full days here before traveling a day to the next tourist trap of an island, where we would remain for the last 5 days of our island hopping. Then back into the ocean for two weeks of sailing our way back to where we started the whole trip.
I could only wait impatiently for the next chance I would have at visiting the one place that always made me feel at peace in this world. Although, when the time came I had a feeling that I would miss having Sinbad there with me, pointing out the colorful birds and the various animals that hid within the forest. He'd been so happy, spending his time in there admiring the wonders that so few had ever seen before.
Yes, I would definitely miss him when this cruise was over.

The day before the two weeks of island hopping would finally come to an end had arrived. Sinbad's friends were all sleeping in their cabins, or at least in someone's cabins since I am sure that at least a few of them had 'hooked up' with each other.
The majority of them were well past being simply drunk at this point, even my father having indulged in a bit of drink after being encouraged to enjoy himself before he had to focus on steering the boat through the ocean's waves again.
I leaned on the railing of the boat, looking up at the stars as I wondered how things had gotten to this point. When had it happened? When had those golden eyes suddenly become as treasured to me as the forest of the island I loved? When had my fingers begun to long for the feeling of that purple hair running between them? And when had my heart decided to start racing every time he caught my eyes?
"Sinbad..." I sighed softly into the wind, closing my eyes briefly as I imagined his face.
"Did you need me for something, (y/n)?" His voice whispered into my ear suddenly, as I felt a warm body lean against my back.
Turning my head in shock, I caught sight of those familiar eyes staring into my own. Taking a step back, he turned me around and gave me a questioning look before slowly leaning in. Feeling my face heat up, I closed my eyes and waited for the feeling of his warm lips to press against mine.
I was completely unprepared for the sharp pain that came instead, hearing the whispered apology from the person I had trusted so much as I slipped into a darkness that had nothing to do with my eyes being closed.

Feeling something warm against my back, I slowly groaned as I felt the throbbing pain that filled the back of my head. I instantly froze when I felt something around my waist give a gentle squeeze, pulling me closer to the warm, firm object behind me.
"I'm sorry (y/n) for causing you pain. I just couldn't stand the thought that we only had two more weeks together. You became so important to me during the month we were together, it made me realize something. I don't need to travel the world to find my adventure. Everything I need is right here, with you in my arms. Our future together can be the greatest adventure a person could ever hope for. And I want that future, that adventure of a lifetime, spending it with you by my side." I whimpered in pain as I felt his lips press against the soft (h/c) hair that covered the small wound on the back of my head..
Trying to think, all I could remember was a sky filled with stars, the sound of the waves below, a boy leaning towards me with bright golden eyes and then darkness. I couldn't remember anything after that, and everything before was kept from me by the almost blinding pain that refused to leave my mind.
"Please (y/n), talk to me. Tell me you forgive me? I did it for you (y/n), for us. So that we could have our future together, living on the island you love so much! And I won't let anyone take you away from me. So please, just talk to me. Say something, anything, just let me hear your beautiful voice, please." The desperate whispers were slowly growing louder, the one arm around my waist holding me tighter as a hand came up to gently run up and down my arm.
Slowly opening my eyes, I turned my head and looked into familiar golden eyes. Reaching out a hand, I slowly ran my fingers through soft, purple hair. Ignoring the pain that beat within my skull for a moment, I slowly opened my mouth and began to speak.
"Do I know you?" Watching his eyes widen in shock before slowly narrowing again, I felt my heart begin to race when he gave me a blinding smile.
"Yes, yes you do. After all, I'm your husband, Sinbad!"
