To stop all the debate over Durgy, blue slept in Steven's room with the giant tiger as a pillow and her next to Steven's bed with his head laying off the bed and on her chest. This night Steven had a strange dream, he was running through flower fields while other gems where frantically guiding him somewhere, he could hear all sorts of gems crying and screaming as he got closer to wherever this place was until, he saw it.He recognised this place as where his parents met but also a significant site to his mother, a place belonging to pink diamond, as soon as he saw that he suddenly woke up.
"Ugh...what the.." Steven said, waking up, blue was gone, so was durgy and his face was covered in tears. "was this one of mum's powers?" He thought, "did I share a memory with her as a dream and feel her pain?". Suddenly his thoughts where interrupted by Greg quickly running into the room, "Steven? What's wrong? Your mother said you randomly started crying in your sleep!" Greg said, sounding concerned and getting close to steven."I don't know why I cried" Steven said, "I remember my dream but it wasn't a sad one". "Please tell me what it was" blue said, coming into the room, "pearl always suspected you'd have my memories along with my powers, I wonder if it's because of that". "That theory is from when you where pregnant and we weren't sure if you'd survive", Greg said to blue, "yes but if he has My powers what else could he share?" Blue replied, "so please, Steven tell me what you saw".
"Alright so I was running through a field, people where telling me to go somewhere, it sounded serious, I could also hear people yelling" Steven began, his parents listened very carefully to everything he said, especially blue, "then the people guiding me somewhere lead me to that pink thing in Korea, that place where you two met, just there was no flowers there and it looked more new". Blue looked at Steven with a horrified face, "...so you do have my memories" she quietly said, looking to the ground, "you know what my dream was about? What it when pi-"NO MORE!", blue interrupted Steven, "FORGET THIS EVER HAPPENED!".
"And so I told her my dream and she freaked out at me!", Steven told pearl, they where sitting together and waiting for Greg to come back with some donuts, blue had also gone but Steven didn't know where, pearl said it was for work and she'd be back in about an hour. "My diamond doesn't like talking about the past, she becomes very emotional easily", pearl explained, "I know but sometimes it just makes things worse" Steven said, "I wish she'd just explain things to me without freaking out". "But she did try Steven, remember your bath?" Pearl replied, "you know, before you where born my diamond was convinced she'd die before seeing you so instructed me to tell you everything". Steven looked at pearl with excitement in his eyes, "so can you tell me everything!!", he exclaimed, pearl realised she probably shouldn't have said this and started to studder, "w-well....my diamond is still very much a-alive and I don't think she said I could still tell you if she was still here". Steven started to complain, "come on pearl! And she isn't here right now!", pearl gave in and told Steven to sit down, "fine I will tell you the story of the diamonds in era 1!".
From Pearl's gem a light shone out of it, onto the wall and small cartoons pearl had drawn started to play in the light. "Once upon a time there were 4 great diamonds. the white diamond the closest to the supreme Lord paragon the mother of all gems, the yellow diamond the leader of the army of gems and a genius commander of military, the blue diamond the supreme diplomat of the universe and the young pink diamond who hadn't yet found her greatest achievement." Pearl began, Steven looked at all the projected art in amazement, he was so shocked to even hear the name pink diamond without everything becoming emotional right after
"The diamonds, lead by white, successfully freed the early gems from their oppressors and found their own planet to live on. Soon after, enemies came to attack the gems and they where easily defeated and as a show of victory, the gems took over their now lifeless planets.The white and yellow diamonds had the most planets and fought the most battles, whilst the blue diamond mostly found lifeless planets and dedicated her time attempting communication with the many beings across the galaxy but the pink diamond still had no planet of her own." Steven remembered his mother telling him this part. as he looked at the small, simple drawing of pink diamond he wondered what she looked like and how close she must've been with blue.
"Yellow diamond, knowing pink was self conscious about her lack of planets, set off on a long journey to find one for her and found a planet unlike any other they had dealt with, the planet earth.", Steven gulped, he knew this part of the story was about to get serious, but he didn't interrupt pearl, he kept watching and listening. "As this was pink's first planet, yellow and blue decided to guide her with it and make sure she ruled it as good as possible, and at first it went perfect, it was one of the best planets under any diamond, and pink was praised greatly by the other diamonds, but then."
"A rose quartz, a gem made on earth, started to protest pink and all of the other diamonds, she started to gain a following, that group was soon named the crystal gems.", this made Steven think, "those gems I saw with rose, they must have been the crystal gems!" But he didn't say this realisation out loud, he made sure to not interrupt pearl no matter what. "This group soon caused chaos across earth, the other diamonds where shocked and had never seen anything like this, pink diamond called for their help immediately to try and stop this rose quartz as soon as possible! But before they could do anything, tragedy struck."
Steven started to sweat, he remembered his dream, he remembered how his mother reacted to rose, he knew what he was about to hear, it made him feel awful. looking at those drawings he knew pink must've been a great leader and for rose to do such a thing she must be a monster! "The rose quartz, in all her mindless evil, brutally shattered pink diamond!", Steven gasped but quickly covered his mouth as he noticed it made pearl stop. "My Steven? Do you want me to stop?" Pearl asked, "no please, I must know the full story" Steven said.
"When pink was killed the other 3 diamonds where furious, they called all of the remaining gems on their side to flee earth and blasted earth with a attack that was supposed to have killed all gems left on the planet but instead, rendered them as corrupt monsters" pearl ended the story after that, steven knew there was much more after that but it was the best to end it there. Steven looked at her, he had so many questions and felt so many things, mostly hatred for that rose quartz, what she had done to this planet, pink diamond and his mother, was pure evil, he had never felt this much rage before.
Not long after pearl finished her story, Greg returned with the donuts he got for them, "I got 3 in case you wanted to try some", Greg said, giving pearl one, "thank you Mr universe, my diamond has spoken with me about these", pearl said, trying the donut with a very small bite. Almost right after Greg came home the warp-pad lit up and blue diamond returned. "sorry If I was gone for a long time, I had to go to a moon base far away!", blue explained, going to see what Steven, Greg and pearl where doing. "It's great seeing you spending more time with them pearl!" Blue happily said, "thank you my diamond", pearl quietly replied, "I see you've got some donuts to! How's food pearl?", blue asked, "interesting" pearl quietly said.
"You know I've been thinking", blue said, sitting next to Greg, "I've thought maybe I should go and see the people of this place more and maybe I should try and blend in and get some, human clothes!". "That's a great idea mum!", Steven said, getting up from his seat and running to sit by his mother. "my diamond, If you want, we can go and find some human clothes, together", pearl said, this made blue very happy, to her it showed pearl also wanted to blend in but in reality pearl just wanted to follow her diamond. "Sounds amazing pearl!" Blue said, jumping up "I promise we won't be long guys!", then blue waved to Greg and steven and quickly left the house with pearl.
"I wonder what clothes mum will wear" Steven said to his father while they waited for blue and pearl's return."I remember before you where born she went through some crazy phases" Greg joked, "she once dressed like a indian bride everyday for 5 months straight! And once wore marshal arts uniforms!", Greg and steven laughed at this and looked at old photos of blue through her many phases. "Hey dad, was mum different before I was born?" Steven asked, "not much, well besides when we first met she was like 100x My size and didn't really understand humans" Greg said, but before he could say anything the door opened revealing blue and pearl in their new human look!
Pearl wore a long, dark blue skirt and a white button up shirt with the top buttons undone, lightly revealing her gem, she had also moved her hair slightly out of the way of her eyes. Blue dressed much more casually, she wore a blue hoodie, a white shirt underneath, black shorts with white stripes on the side, white and yellow socks, and black sandals. "My diamond, I'm suprised to see you chose such a, look" pearl said, looking blue up and down. "its conformable and not as ridiculous as what I used to wear and I'm happy you finally moved your hair out your eyes, you're so beautiful when your eyes show" blue replied, this made pearl blush and thank blue for complimenting her eyes.
"Now", blue said, walking in front of Greg and steven with pearl, "what do you think of our looks!". "Pearl looks the same just less...alien but that's great and I'm shocked you're wearing such little blue stuff!" Greg said, "pearl you look adorable and mum I'm so shocked I thought I'd never see you wear shorts" Steven said, blue laughed this off and pearl bowed to steven, "thank you so much my Steven, I tried to not be much different from my usual form" she said. "So on a scale of one to ten how human do we look?" Blue asked, "6!" Greg said, "10! Steven said. "Good I guess it's time to start our secret mission of infiltrating the humans!" Blue joked.
