Two weeks have gone by since everything went down, and so far, I've met up with my dad about 5 times.
I still can't quite grasp the fact that he's my parent, but I'm sure I'll get to it at some point. He is a really nice person. He's been going out of his way to make me happy any way he can. I suppose he's trying to compensate for all the time we missed, although he shouldn't worry himself.
But, it is nice having him around. He even came over for dinner one night. My mom made a bunch of food, and she was a lot more excited than she'd care to admit.
But... He wanted to meet Jimin. Again. Officially.
'Out with it.' Jimin nudged me a little, shaking me awake from my thoughts as we were walking home from school.
'Hmm?' I hummed
'Don't hmm me.' He clicks his tongue. 'There's something on your mind the entire day, and whatever it is, you're pulling yourself back from saying or asking. Just tell me.'
'You're quite scary, you know? It's not fair that you know me so well.' I pout
'Stop being cute and tell me what it is.' He laughs, squeezing my hand a little
I sighed deeply before asking, 'Would you like to have dinner with me and my parents?' I finally got it out. Done. Well done me.
'I would love to.' He was beaming, looking almost excited
'I was so nervous to ask you, and you are all excited about it.' I laugh in relief
'Why are you nervous? It's me.'
'I don't know, honestly. I just was. I wasn't sure if you'd be comfortable with them and all. Last time you saw them they were a mess. It was all a mess so-'
As he does, he shut me up with a kiss.
'I'll never be bored with you, am I?' He giggles, holding my face in the palm of his hands. 'All the things we've been through so far, and you are nervous about this.'
'Once again, you're right.' I gave in
'I usually am.' He teases, kissing the tip of my nose. 'When is the dinner?'
'Whenever you're ready.'
'I don't mind when it is. We can do it today if you want.' How the hell is he so calm about this? I'd be pooping my pants
'I kind of miss the shy Jimin. Your confidence is too flustering.'
He started laughing, letting go of my face. 'You're such an idiot.'
'Well, you're stuck with me, so you better get used to it.'

The moment I told my mom Jimin agreed, she called my father, and the two of them went on a whole mission to ge the dinner ready, trying to think what to make.
You would think she had never met him before, when in reality, she saw him at least 5 times so far.
With my dad, I kind of get him. He only saw him once, so he is excited, but my mom... truly a weirdo.
But whatever it is, I've been watching her run around with her cookbook, talking to my dad on the phone as the two of them were working on the dinner menu. Unbelievable.

'You calmed down?' I teased her once I came down
'This is important, honey. Don't get all sassy with me.' She chuckles as she's covering half the kitchen with all sorts of groceries
'Mom, you realize he's been here many times?'
'Yes, but we never had an actual family dinner and all that. Even your father is going to be here. We certainly never done that.'
I suppose she has a point. Whatever.
'Well, do you need some help, then?'
*doorbell* knock* doorbell* knock*
'Oh, oh, that's Mikey.' She ran off, leaving everything on the counter
Mikey? I am so weirded out at this point. And confused.
I heard them both chattering away, and then they walked into the kitchen together.
'Angel.' He smiled as brightly as he could, coming over to give me a tight hug
'Hi, dad.' I laugh. 'What's with the suit?'
He was in a full suit and tie, looking like he's going into a meeting and not to a family dinner. At home.
'First impressions are important. And he is important to you. So, ta-daa!' He sings, motioning to himself
He was actually kind of cute, so it made me laugh.
'I think you look amazing.' My mom smiles at him
'Thank you, Sumia.' He smiles back at her
Is she blushing again? Is he blushing? What am I looking at?!
'We should start cooking.' My mom shook her head a little, going behind the counter
'Right. I'm helping.' He followed after her, putting on an apron straight away
'I'm just gonna-' I was gonna say that I'll leave them to it, but they were already in a heated discussion over who does what, so I kind of just walked away
I feel like I'm bothering them.

'He's here! He's here!' My dad jumped up from the sofa, running to the door. It's like I have a dog. A happy, excited dog.
'Good evening, Jimin. Thank you for joining us.'
Is this a job interview or a dinner?
'Not at all. Thank you for inviting me.' Jimin answered him, and then the footsteps came along with both of them walking into the living room
Now I just feel underdressed. And like I'm about to have a heart attack.
Black trousers, a smart, button-up white shirt. Even his hair is styled, pushed back. That frigging exposed forehead is doing things to me. I have never, ever seen him all dressed up. I feel like I'm drooling. And I might be. I only now realized my mouth were wide open.
Why is he dressed all smart?! And what the-
'These are for you.' He passed my mom flowers. 'Thank you for inviting me over.'
'Oh, my, Jimin, this really wasn't necessary.' She says that, but she's sniffing the flowers
'Hi.' He finally smiled at me
'H-hi.' I barely stuttered. Gather yourself, woman!!!
'Hungry?' My dad smiles at Jimin
'I wasn't that hungry until I walked in.' He chuckles. 'But now with this smell...'
'Then let's head over.' My dad got all excited, leading us into the kitchen
I kind of just followed after, feeling lost in my own home. Now I'm not sure if I'm the crazy one or if it's them.
I was about to pull my chair out, but seems Jimin beat me to it, smiling at me in that breathtaking way, even going so far as to offer me his hand to help me sit down. What movie did he fall out of?
'Th-thank you.'
'Are you okay?' He whispered quietly as those two went off to put the stuff on the table
'No! What the hell?!' I motion at him
'What?' He whispers again, looking himself up and down
'What is up with this?! Why are you so damn handsome?! What about my heart?!'
He started snickering, covering his face with both hands to stop himself from laughing.
'Should I apologise then or...?' He jokes
'Honestly, you should. I'm not feeling too well right now. You look incredible.' Mouthwatering to be more precise. And he smells even better. I can't with this guy...
'You are honestly such an idiot.' He giggled quietly, leaving a kiss on the back of my hand
'Heeere we go.' My dad put down one pot, followed by my mom bringing all sorts of things. Within a minute, there was enough food on the table to feed a stable full of horses.
'You really, really shouldn't have done all of this.' Even Jimin was shocked
'We didn't know what you like, so there's a bit of everything. Please, dig in.' My mom smiles
'Thank you.' He bows his head
'First, I'd like to apologise for the first time we met.' My dad started talking, bowing his head to Jimin. 'I feel like we kind of threw you into the lion's den that day. That was anything but nice to witness.'
'Please, don't- don't bow and apologize. It's truly not a big deal.' Jimin started waving his hands to stop my dad. 'Honestly, do not worry about that at all.'
'And I am sorry, too. For a lot more than just that one day.' Now my mom started bowing. 'You have been there for her and helped her through all this mess that I have created. It never should have happened.'
'I'm sorry if I come off as rude, but she definitely never should have gone through all of that. It was hard watching her in pain.'
My mom looked so ashamed, as she should. But then he continued talking.
'But I am grateful for all that, in some weird, twisted way.' He took my hand under the table, squeezing it gently. 'That's kind of why we became closer. Trying to help her though a part of it, it ended up with us falling in love. So I can't say that it was all that bad. Besides, it has been going for the better since then.' He ended it with a smile, trying to cheer her up. Or something.
'Even in the worst of the things, there is always something good.' My dad adds into it, smiling at him
'I will still always be grateful for it. It never should have happened, but that's on me. But the reason she is happy as she is, that is all your doing.' My mom says as she smiles at me
Well, besides my cheeks fully burning, I'm great.
Suddenly, my dad picks up a little cherry tomato in front of his face and squints, closing one eye as he looks at it. 'Yep. Same.'
He meant me and the tomato.
'Dad!' I whined at him and he just started laughing, along with my mom and Jimin
Although Jimin leaned closer to whisper,'You are so cute.'
Not helping. At all.
This is gonna be the longest dinner ever.
