Catos pov
I slept with clove last night to make sure she was okay. With everyone else, she acts like she's not scared at all but with me she's terrified. I know she wants to survive but she won't kill me in the process to do it and I would never try to hurt her. Ever.
When I wake up shes not beside me and I immediately sit up without thinking I yell "clover!" And here her say "Cato! I'm out here in the dining room" and I rushed out. When I get there she's eating with our mentors who are looking at me like this:🤨
And I look back to the hallway and realize they could see me leaving cloves room 'oh shit' "sit down Cato" Brutus says "are...you two together?" Enobaria asks with an unreadable expression. As if she's happy but sad at the same time. "It would be best if you be honest." Brutus states. Clove looks at me and I nod and she tells them "we are dating..."
Enobaria then gets up and storms out of the room..
Cloves POV
What the hell? I run after enobaria who is sitting in her room and find her crying. "Clove... I'm happy for you I am honestly I thought you and Cato would make a wonderful couple" "then why are you crying.." "because in the games you will have to chose who dies...look at my games for example" she says as she holds a picture close to her I look closer at the picture. It was a guy and her I recognize him..he was the other volunteer for district two her year. Now I remember how her games went...they tried staying alive as long as they could but then the game makers started torturing them in the arena and so...she had to leave him behind in quick sand...and he agreed "no...no that won't be the case with me and Cato! Please enobaria there's gotta be a way where we can both get out of this" I say sitting next to her pleading "I-I'll do my best...but I don't know how to..we'll figure it out by the time the interviews come around but first we gotta get you dressed for the parade" she says before calling the stylists to prepare me when we're done it was already 10 minutes til the parade and I walk up to Cato that's already near the chariot. "Hello handsome" I say "hello beautiful" he says with a wink and pulls me close to him and I can see the tributes from 1 being very confused.. "its gonna start its gonna start!" Crystal yells
Cato gets up on the chariot and helps me up and we put on a fitting expression. A look that tells people we are viscous.
