Violet's pov
I decided to just stay where I was and got out my laptop, while Elijah and Enzo both went to their offices. Alessandro turned his attention to his work as I do with mine and we both started working in quiet. It was like this for maybe an hour before Alessandro stopped working, looked up at me and then said "I have to go to the meeting now, I'll be back when it's over" before standing and walking toward the door.
Standing in the doorway Alessandro turns back toward me and asks
"do you want to come and see what happens?"
"really?" I turn so I am fully facing him
"yeah, I mean you don't have to but we all have seen what it was like when dad was running the place I just thought you might want to see what happened" he shrugs before going to take a step out the door only halting a little when I almost scream 'wait' moving the things off my lap and walking really fast to him before he fully leaves me behind
Walking down the hallway I look into both Elijah and Enzo's offices. They are both working with their heads down, fully into whatever boring thing they have to do. Elijah's office is right Infront of Alessandro's which means both of them can see eachother when they are at their desks. Lorenzo's office is right next to Elijah's looking into the office that seems like it hasn't been in use in a long time.
Making our way down the hallways, I mentally map every twist and turn we make, hopefully being able to find my way back to the offices. When we come to a stop we are outside what I am sure is their smallest conference room on this level, which is actually really big and could probably seat atleast 20/30 people. Inside the room there is already a man who looks similar in age to Alessandro maybe a couple years older.
"try not to make to many noises okay, the guy is a prick and I would rather him beings a prick to me than you" Alessandro says turning to me before we walk in the room as soon as I nod he opens the door and walks into the room, leaving the door open for me to walk in
The guy stands up as we make our way toward the table, I sit down as Alessandro shakes the guys hand having put his stone cold face on.
"Shawn" is the only thing Alessandro says with a small nod
"Mr Costello, good seeing you again" Shawn say while shaking Sandro's hand still
"this is mt little sister, she is just going to be watching" sando explains as he sits down in the chair next to me
Shawn doesn't say anything about me, seemingly like he is afraid of what will happen if he does.
"okay so I'm just going to cut to the chase, I know how valuable your time is and mine certainly is as well. I have a product that I am sure if going to be huge I just need someone to manufacture it and sell it" gone was the afraid Shawn, this Shawn looks like nothing would scare him
"what is the product" sando asks looking a little bored
"it's a small device that can pick up any sound around it for 4 km, it can pick up the sound of breathing from across the room" Shawn looks like he couldn't be happier, he doesn't actually have a grin but you can tell he is trying really hard not too
"so it's a microphone, you are trying to get me to buy a microphone from you and mass produce it" Sandro says in a bored tone
I try really hard not to make any sound but its really hard when you have a guy who looks over the moon about something that has already been invented
"its not a microphone, microphones can't pick up the sound of breathing from across the room, can they" Shawn sounds almost desperate, like this is his last shot
"how many times has this gotten turned down" Alessandro asks seemingly picking up what I'm thinking
"Only a couple but I promise it is worth putting your money in" by a couple I think he means anyone with a brain
"Why would you come here if everyone else said no. The only reason I even let you come here today was because of your father, if your father was still alive maybe you would still have a company to make your stupid ideas" after Alessandro completely ruins Shawn it's a little hard to not laugh considering the face shawn is making
It's like a mix between apualed, shocked and embarrassed. Hearing me laugh shawn turns his head to me, his face turns into annoyance.
" how the hell did you think that was a good idea" I try saying but it come out a little weird
Before Shawn is able to say anything Alessandro is standing with his hand to the door " thank you for wasting my time but I think you should leave"
Not being able to say anything Shawn gets up and starts heading for the door but just before he walks out the door I make sure I get in " it was nice to be able to watch this thank you"
Shawn just glares at me before he's out the door and down the hallway near the elevator with one of the guys escorting him out of the building
When Shawn is in the elevator with the doors closed Alessandro looks to me and smiles " well that was something" he exclaims
" do you have to deal with things like that all the time?" I would hate having this job if he did, being completely surrounded by stupid
" the people here are really smart so they try and make a limit on the amount of Peale I see and the ones I do see are very important people that actually know what they are doing. I only do favors like those every couple months" Sandro makes a move with his head indicating that we are leaving the room
We start making our way to his office when he starts talking again " unfortunately you can't be in the next meeting and Elijah and Lorenzo have to be there so there will be one to look after you"
" I don't need someone to 'look after me' I am a perfectly capable of looking after myself. Just go to your meeting I'll be fine taking a nap on your couch" I end with a smile entering his office
"Are you sure I could have Isabella come in here and keep you company"
"I could never leave you without your sacred secretary" I reply half joking. After a beat I add "trust me I'll be fine I'm just going to chill out on your couch and probably sleep" I explain shrugging
"She isn't sacred, bell is just good at her job which takes things off me" if I didn't know any better I would believe him but because I have been around Alessandro for so long I can tell that he isn't exactly telling me the truth
Deciding not to continue this conversation I just hum and keep walking, just have to make two more turns and we would be at his hallway
Walking into the office and taking a seat on the couch I look over to Elijah. Seeing him in exactly the same place that he was before we left.
" hey violet can you get Lorenzo and Elijah. We need to start going over the brief before the next meeting" nodding I stand up and make my way to Lorenzo first
Opening the door I walk into the room with a big smile looking around the room before looking to Lorenzo who Is already looking at me
"Alessandro wants to go over the brief for the next interview with you two" I saw pointing to both Lorenzo and the wall separating him and Elijah
Lorenzo nods before shutting his laptop and getting up, heading toward the door "you coming" he asks seeing I'm still looking around the room
"Yeah yeah" I say then head out the door after him
Going to Elijah's office while Lorenzo goes to Alessandro. I do the same that I did with Lorenzo. I opened the door with a smile walk into the office and look around before looking over to Elijah and saying the same thing before looking back around the room then finally walking out when Elijah says something.
We both make our way to Sandra's office seeing Lorenzo sitting on the couch looking at us as we enter the room. Alessandro is sitting at his desk with his head down, focused on something.
Only when both Elijah and I are sitting down on the couch does he take a couple more seconds before looking up at us.
Alessandro starts talking about the people their meeting with Enzo and Elijah but I just tune them out and focus on my laptop, deciding that while they talk about work I may as well do some of my own.
It isn't long before all three of them have stopped talking and are now starting to get up, fixing things like their shirts. Before saying anything to me I make sure to say something to them seeing they look nervous.
" go and knock 'em dead" I say with a small wink making sure I have a small smile so they know I'm joking
