Sweat was pouring down his face as he continued to workout. Every now and then you could see his muscles flex as he moved. The way his hair stuck to his face as he had been at this nearly all day. M/n Uzui the younger brother of the sound Hashira and the crush of Tanjiro.
Tanjiro was sitting on the ground a few feet from M/n. Tanjiro watched as the male was working out and training. He was so busy watching M/n he didn't notice the sound Hashira himself. A hand landed on his shoulder startling the boy but he relaxed once he saw who it was.
"What are you doing Tanjiro?" Tengen asked him.
"Um n-nothing" Tanjiro stuttered as he tried to hide his face because he knew he was blushing. Tengen looked up and saw M/n then he started to connect the dots and started laughing.
"HAHAHA! Wait, don't tell me you have a thing for M/n" Tengen laughed and then looked at Tanjiro who was blushing really bright.
"W-what no way"
"You have nothing to fear I shall help you"
"Huh?
"Hey M/n!" Tengen called the male.
"Yeah?" M/n said as he walked over to them
"How's training been?"
"It's been ok, why?"
"I was thinking why not let Tanjiro join?"
"Oh I don't mind"
"Alright I'll leave you two to it" and with that Tengen left. Tanjiro was speechless, did Tengen really just set him up with his crush. Tanjiro was pulled from his thoughts when he saw a hand being waved in front of his face.
"Huh?"
"Are you good there?" M/n asked him.
"O-oh yes! I'm ok"
"That's good so ready to start?"
"Um sure" Tanjiro followed M/n to the middle of the yard and started to stretch. As M/n was stretching Tanjiro was watching his movement. M/n had looked over and saw Tanjiro staring.
"Is everything ok Tanjiro?" he asked him as he walked over to the male.
"U-um yes I-i'm fine"
"Are you sure? Cause your face is red"
"Ah! Yes! I'm sure I'm ok" Tanjiro said as he tried to hide his face with his hands.
"Well then shall we continue?" Tanjiro just nodded his head and then they continued to stretch. Once done they worked out and trained the rest of the day. M/n would catch Tanjiro staring at him every now and then.
All while Tanjiro was trying to keep from blushing. For about two months they would always work out or train together. And every time they did Tanjiro's feelings grew for the male. Then M/n was sent out on a mission and Tanjiro was sad that he wouldn't be able to see M/n for a while. So while M/n was gone Tanjiro would sit under the cherry blossom tree that M/n and him would have rested under.

Two weeks later
Tanjiro's Pov
It's been two weeks since M/n left for his mission and I miss him. I wonder if he's ok sighing, I got up and walked around. Maybe I should tell him how I feel, no he wouldn't feel the same. Then I heard some yelling so I ran to the source only to see a horrific sight. M/n was bleeding badly and was using his sword to lean on.
"G-get Shinobu" he said before passing out everyone was panicking. Shinobu and Tengen had run over and carried M/n away to the medical wing. As we were waiting for any news on M/n I can't help but feel like I'm about to lose the other half of me. The thought made a lump in my chest making it hard to breathe. Hours later Shinobu finally came out of the room sighing.
"He had some deep cuts and some even had poison in them but I was able to save his life" she said smiling. I let out the breath I didn't even know I was holding. The next day people were finally able to visit him as I waited until the others finished before I went. Walking in I saw him lying there with bandages covering a good bit of his body.
"Hey so you finally decided to visit me uh" he said as he looked at me.
"Sorry I didn't want to get in the others' way"
"Nah it's ok I'm glad you stopped by"
"How are you feeling?"
"Well it does hurt a little but nothing I can't handle uh why are you crying?" he asked me. I put a hand on my cheek and indeed I was crying. I don't know why but I was, I tried to wipe them away but they wouldn't stop.
"I-i'm sorry"
"What's wrong, are you hurt?"
"N-no I'm not" then he pulled me into a hug as I continued to cry. M/n rubbed his hand up and down my back to comfort me.
"I-I was so s-scared" I cried into his chest.
"Why?"
"I t-thought I lost y-you"
"Oh Tanjiro I'm not going anywhere"
"When I s-saw you there c-covered in blood I-" I was unable to finish my statement as my cries got louder.
"Tanjiro I'm sorry I scared you"
"P-please don't ever d-do that again" I took a deep breath before continuing.
"I like you M/n s-so please don't leave me" I hid my face in his chest afraid of his reaction.
"I like you too Tanjiro" he whispered to me.
"Huh! R-really" I looked up at him not believing his words.
"Yes and to tell the truth it was you who saved me"
"H-huh how did I do that"
"When I was feeling like the end was near that I was not going to make it I thought about you and that gave me the strength to finish the fight and come home to you" He explained. I looked at him and more tears fell from my eyes at his words.
"Tanjiro-" I cut him off with a kiss. He gently kissed back and held me close to him. But then we were interrupted by a cough. We pulled away and looked at the door and saw Mr.Tengen there.
"So I guess you're feeling better M/n" he said looking at M/n.
"Oh hey" M/n greeted him as I hid my face in M/n's chest again.
"So Tanjiro I see you told my brother you like him"
"Y-yes sir" I mumbled.
"Now M/n needs rest before you two do anything"
"Ah! Brother shut up!" M/n yelled at him before he left.
"I'm sorry about him"
"I-it's ok" I looked up at M/n and smiled.
"What are you smiling about?"
"I'm happy you return my feelings"
"And I'm happy to have you as mine now" We continued to lay there before the butterfly girls and Shinobu kicked me out so M/n could get rest. But M/n had sneaked out and went to my room that night and we continued to cuddle the whole night.
