Dude, so I knocked this one out faster than I thought I could. Probably...four hours total? Rock on, bro. It helped that this one isn't that long. 11 pages on word, but that's for a reason. I needed to end it here.

The song up there does not match the entire chapter, only a certain part with Kit.

Also, some warnings? This chapter is a fight scene. There is some gore and action so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing be wary. Another thing? This chapter jumps around a lot because I had to show different aspects to different things happening.

So, lemme know what you think please (like PLEASE.)!

"They're gonna be here soon, and by soon I mean-"

Wynn lifted her focused gaze to glare at the archangel hovering over her, "Gabe, if you don't shut the fuck up right now I'm gonna shove my blade down your throat."

Gabriel lifted his hands in mock defeat and took a step back. She lowered her glare and continued to paint sigils on the floor of her cell with her own blood. With each stroke of red on the ground a new symbol tattooed on her arm lit up bright blue. She was seconding guessing herself with each line she drew as well. This was the best option for the people here at the prison, but it was going to leave Kit blind and a part of her couldn't handle that. She didn't want to take what grace he had left, but she had a job to do.

"I need your blood now." She sighed and stood. Gabriel stepped forward again and brought out his angel blade. He hesitated for a brief moment and Wynn couldn't help but wonder why. She had known the archangel for a long time, and hesitating in situations like this wasn't in his nature. Gabriel chuckled and sliced his palm open against his blade.

"Let's get this over with, hmm?" He said in a serious tone before squeezing his hand closed. Wynn kept her gaze on him as the blood dripped to the floor landing on the sigils. She nodded and began to speak in Enochian. This was an old spell that she knew strictly for emergencies. In fact, she's never even had to use it before. Each word made her arm glow brighter and brighter. It would take every drop of grace from Kit and Gabriel and channel it into herself so she could guard the prison. As the last word left her mouth an explosion of light filled the cell along with a cry of pain.

When the light faded, she finally felt like herself. The way she had felt before the gates of heaven had shut. Her eyes focused on Gabriel then who was kneeling on the ground shaking.

"Gabe?" She fell to the ground in front of him. Wynn cupped his face and forced him to look up at her. His skin was pale, he was shaking, and dark bags hung under his eyes. "Gabe?"

He let out a grunt of pain and slowly reached up to hold his shoulder. Wynn lifted him easily and brought him over to lie on her cot. Gabriel groaned, but a round of coughing that left blood on his lips cut off the sound of pain, "I screwed up, Wynn."

"Gabriel?"

"My shoulder, Wynn. My shoulder."

Daryl was back. Martinez was here. You and the rescue group were not. Rick clenched his jaw and continued to reload his weapon. There was going to be a firefight, there was going to be death, but Rick was determined to keep all deaths on the other side of this battle. He wouldn't lose his group. He wouldn't let them down.

"Rick."

"Not now, Shane." Rick snapped and moved to leave. An arm pulled him back and he glared at the perpetrator, "What?"

Shane shook his head, "Tell me where you need me, brother."

"I don't-"

Carl's voice interrupted the starting argument, "Dad?"

Rick's eyes cut over to his son who stood with a gun by his side. Carl was ready to fight, more than that he wanted to fight. He recognized that look in his son's eyes and it filled his blood with ice. Rick didn't want Carl anywhere near that fight.

"I can do this." Shane murmured after a quick glance over at Carl. Rick darted his gaze to the man he had killed what felt like decades ago. Shane nodded, "I can't fix the past. I don't even deserve the chance to, but I can do this, brother. I'll keep him here. I'll keep him safe. Him and Judith both."

Rick didn't have a lot of choices. Did he want to put any amount of faith or trust in Shane? Not in the slightest. However, the look in Shane's eyes reminded Rick of a time before all this. Back when walkers didn't exist. Back when Shane truly was his brother.

Rick gave a nod before looking at his son one last time then leaving the room. He didn't see Shane turn around and force Carl back to the safety of the cells, but he did hear his son yelling.

"I can do this, dad! Dad! I can do this! Let me go!"

_____________

Carefully thrown bottles from the rooftop of the building you hid in had created enough noise down the street to pull at least half the walkers away from the car you needed to get to. Dean and Kit had apparently been watching close enough to notice the distraction and had exited their own building around the same time you and Merle exited out onto the street.

Not all the walkers were gone. You saw Dean take down a walker just as Merle did the same beside you. The four of you hurried into the car with Dean behind the wheel. He slammed his foot against the gas and the car lurched down the road. The car ride was awkward again, but this time it was from the tense feeling of a fight lurking around the corner. It was from the fear that all of you were too late.

As the prison came into sight you could tell something was very wrong. The front gates were missing as if a car, or multiple cars, had driven right through them.

"Oh my-" Kit spoke up.

Dean snapped, "What? What do you see??"

"I didn't lose my grace because of something upstairs." Kit was in the passenger seat with his eyes glued to something in the grassy courtyard, "I lost my grace because Wynn took it."

_____________

Wynn was a very simple person. Her thoughts were very black and white when it came to her job. It wasn't her fault. She was an angel and her job was hardwired to who she was as a person. The only shades of gray in her mind stood up on the concrete courtyard prepared for a fight. She hadn't been assigned to protect this group, yet she took on this job as if she had. More than just that, this job was personal.

That was the thing about Wynn. She knew, from the moment she became a guardian angel, she knew that she wasn't like the others. She had a weakness and that weakness only became more clear when she met Kit. Guardian angels cared about their job, but Wynn cared about the people. When she met someone, when she got close to someone, she couldn't help but care about them. Her natural instinct was to protect them with every fiber of her being.

Maggie, Rick, Hershel, Beth, Carol, Michonne, Judith, Carl, Glenn, Shane, Daryl, Dean, Sam, Gabriel, Castiel, [Name]. She would do anything for any of them. Kit. She would do absolutely anything for Kit. She would move mountains for him.

There were cars parked around the grassy courtyard around her and walkers dragged themselves through the prison entrance looking for blood. The enemies, they sat in their cars smugly. She could see the look on their faces. She could tell what their next move was. They would barrel their car through the next prison gate and lead the walkers to the ones she cared for.

She would die first.

Wynn had grace coursing through her body, but only enough for one large attack. A smug smile spread across her own features as power flowed through her veins and it only spread when she saw the look of fear on her enemies' faces. The shadow of large wings unfurled behind her as her eyes glowed neon blue. Her angel blade began to grow in length until it became about the size of her forearm. Her shout was in Enochian as she buried her blade into the ground.

The power flowed from her body into the blade and then into the ground. It shot out throwing the cars back onto their roofs. The windows were blown out, the car doors were fallen, and her enemies were now not only open to attack from her but from the dead they had brought themselves.

The ones not too stunned crawled out of the cars with their guns. The fight had begun.

_________

"Holy shit." Merle barked as the group watched the cars fly though the air.

Dean didn't have time to be amazed, "Hold on."

He gunned the car and ran through the herd of walkers forcing themselves into the prison field. The windshield cracked as a body hit it, but Dean pressed on.

Your hand tightened around the gun in your lap. You could hear the gunfire in the air as the car stopped. There was no time to wish each other luck and you definitely weren't going to wait around for it. You threw your door open and aimed your handgun at the closest target. The walker collapsed as the bullet went through its right eye.

The area around you was chaotic. Martinez's group was fighting yours and both groups were also trying to fight off the walkers that tried to swarm and devour any moving thing. Your eyes darted over the crowd and your heart stopped when you noticed Daryl. He was here and he was shooting down walkers with the crossbow you had picked up in town with Rick, Michonne, and Carl.

"Merle!" You barked at the man who was only a few feet away with his metal weapon buried in a walker's head. He glanced at you and you pointed to where Daryl was. Merle didn't reply and instead began to move over there to cover his brother's back. You went to follow when you realized Kit was trying to cut through walkers to get to Wynn who was kneeling in the center of the field. Panic filled your body at the sight of Wynn not even taking in her surroundings.

You lifted your gun and began to fire at the walkers around Kit while also making your way toward the two of them. He nodded briefly when he realized you had caught up to him.

Kit dove toward her as you continued to shoot down any walkers that came close. Sam and Dean were further down with Rick and Michonne who were taking on Martinez's group.

"Wynn!?" Kit barked.

"Oh, quit yelling." She sighed, "I'm fine. I'm just trying to conserve the grace left in me. You have to take it. Now, Kit."

You glanced back to see them staring at each other. Kit shook his head, "You're the better fighter. Use it."

"I know I am which is why you have to take it so I can stay out here." Wynn shook her head, "You need to take the grace then run inside to give it to Gabe. He needs it."

"What's going on?"

"Gabe is dying."

Your eyes widened and you forgot to keep watch, "W-What?"

Wynn looked up at you in sadness before looking back to Kit. She held her glowing tattooed arm out. Kit nodded and clasped her arm with his own. The blue glow transferred from Wynn to Kit. He jumped up when all the blue had soaked into his own tattoos. Then he took off running without a single glance back.

"Duck." Wynn barked as she jumped to her feet. You did so just in time for her to swing her long angel blade over your head and into the head of a walker who had gotten to close.

You shook your head, "Wynn-"

"Gabe will be fine. Focus, [Name]." Wynn said firmly to you with a fire in her eyes, "Focus on the now."

You nodded and lifted your gun again as a swarm of walkers surrounded the two of you.

__________

Kit was sprinting. He noticed Shane, Carl, Beth, and the baby in one of the lower cells. Shane stepped out to question him, but Kit ignored him and raced to Wynn's cell. As he slid to a stop at the cell door his eyes widened.

Gabriel was panting, trying to get air to fill his lungs, as Hershel sat beside him with a look of anguish. The older man looked up at him, "Please tell me Wynn sent you with the grace."

"Yeah...t-that'd be...great..." Gabriel barely managed to get his words out. Kit crossed the room and tried to find where the grace was needed most. Gabriel coughed, "Shoulder."

Kit didn't hesitate when he noticed the blood that was beginning to seep through Gabriel's thick jacket. He clamped his hand down on the wound site making a scream of agony rip through Gabriel's throat. Kit's eyes glowed blue as all the grace began to travel from his body and into Gabriel's. The scream didn't lessen; in fact it grew louder until all of the grace was out of Kit's body. Gabriel slumped unconscious, but there was color in his cheeks where there hadn't been before. Kit stumbled back in a daze from the lack of power in him now as Hershel jumped up to examine Gabriel.

"Hershel. I gotta- I gotta", Kit tried to speak. Hershel nodded and Kit turned to leave the cell. He had helped Gabriel as much as he could. Now he had to help the others.

_______

Rick ducked behind a turned over car as more bullets rained over him. He loaded another round of ammo into his gun and gritted his teeth. The moment the bullets paused he swung up and fired a single round that found its place in the center of the woman's forehead. She slumped to the ground and the gun fell from her hands.

The fight was slowing. Most of Martinez's group had been taken care of, but there were still geeks everywhere and only more were coming in. The sound of a car made his head snap to the side, but relief flooded his system when he spotted Glenn driving one of the larger cars to the front gates. Glenn parked the large truck in front of the gaping hole to keep new walkers from coming in.

His relief was short lived because when he glanced back over he finally spotted Martinez and the jackass was making a beeline for you and Wynn who were still fighting off walkers. Rick lifted his gun to kill Martinez easily, but he froze as a fire filled his chest. He clutched his heart and fell to his knees. Was he shot? Had he been hit? Walkers ignored him and just kept walking beside him to the others. Was he already dead?

'Oh, Rick. I would never let you die. I have too much planned for us for that to happen.' The voice was smooth and dark. It filled his mind with hatred, with anger. Rick knew this feeling and his hand shot to the back of his neck. There was no burn scar, no sigil. It was gone and his worst nightmare had returned.

'The fun has just started.'

_________

"[Name]!"

Your head snapped around at Wynn's warning, but it was too late. Martinez was in front of you with his hands around your throat. He knocked the gun out of your hand before retuning his hand to your throat. Wynn was yelling from a few feet past Martinez's shoulder, but it sounded like her hands were full. Everyone's hands were full.

"I didn't want this to happen." Martinez cried. There was a wild terror in his eyes. "It kept whispering to me! It told me this was my only choice! I had to do this, Aj!" You clawed at his abnormally strong hands. Barely registering what he said. "I didn't want to hurt you! I just- I had no choice!"

Your eyes darted to the wound on his arm. A chunk of his arm was missing from where a walker and ripped it out with its teeth.

"It wouldn't stop whispering. The shadows wouldn't stop whispering." He hissed and you were beginning to see black spots in your vision from lack of air. The words hit you. The shadows. The black had been speaking to him.

You moved your hands to his wound and dug your fingers into the bloody hole. Martinez howled in pain and released you making you fall to the ground. You clutched your throat and tried to suck in as much air as you could. Martinez screamed in frustration as you grabbed your gun. He stormed toward you with poison in his blood and the black's influence swimming in his eyes. You pulled the trigger sending a bullet through his head.

Martinez collapsed forward landing on your legs. You sucked in another sharp breath. Wynn rushed forward to help you. Two walkers closed in on her. You lifted your gun and shot the first one sending it to the ground motionless and moved to fire at the second, but the only thing that happened was the clicking sound of your gun being empty of ammunition. Panic flooded your systems, but it died as Wynn lifted her blade and turned to shove it through the walker's head.

She glanced over at you and her eyes widened. Wynn leaped forward after pulling her weapon from the walker's wound and drove it by your head. Blood splattered against the back of your head and neck as she killed the walker crawling toward you.

There was a pause where the two of you just sat there in relief. You were still half under Martinez and she was half hovering over you from the last kill. Her chuckle of relief was cut short by the gurgling sound of a walker and a scream of panic from you.

She was in your line of sight so you didn't see the walker sneak up from behind her until it sunk its teeth into the crook of her shoulder and neck. Wynn screamed in pain as the walker's teeth ripped skin and muscle from Wynn's body. You grabbed your gun and began to beat it into the walker's head. Blood splattered everywhere until the gun broke through the skull and penetrated its rotten brain. It fell limp to the side as Wynn collapsed on top of you.

You were still screaming, yelling for help, yelling for her to stay with you. With all the strength you had left you rolled her over and kicked Martinez off you. She was trying to breath, but half her throat was missing. Blood soaked the ground beneath her and dribbled from the corners of her mouth.

"No! No, no, no!" You cried as you forced your hands on her wound. You had to stop the bleeding. You had to stop the bleeding. "Stay with me, Wynn! Just keep looking at me! Somebody help me!!"

Someone ran up behind you, but they froze. You snapped your gaze back to see Castiel frozen in shock. You snapped at him, "Don't just stand there! Help me, Cas!"

"[Name]." He said softly, but you ignored him and focused your attention on Wynn.

She was making a soft choking sound but was shaking her head, "I-I'm ok. It's ok."

"Stop talking. Stop talking." You scolded her, "I can fix this."

"I'm-I'm-I'm n-not.." Wynn choked again, "I'm not afraid to die."

Tears began to leak down your face as you shook your head. You let out a cry of frustration, "You're not- You're not dying, Wynn! You can't die!"

"You-You have to take care of h-him. Kit. You have to-"

"Shut up!" You cried as sobs racked your body as more blood leaked through your fingers, "You protect him because you're not dying!"

She began to cough and blood sprayed from her mouth. Castiel wrapped his hands around your shoulders to try and pull you back, but you fought against him. All your strength left you when a pained voice filled the air.

"Wynn?"

Your eyes lifted to see Kit standing about twenty feet away frozen. His eyes were glued to Wynn and the look of pain and panic in them made your body go limp. Castiel took advantage of this to pull you a couple inches back.

Kit rushed forward and stumbled to his knees to land beside her. Wynn smiled at the sight of him and her teeth were stained with blood, "K-Kit. I'm-I'm so sorry."

"Don't". Kit's voice broke, "Don't you leave me, Wynndel. Don't-"

"I-I told you not to call me that, Kitron."

Kit shook his head and anger filled his features, tears collected in his eyes, "Don't. You promised me, Wynn! Don't you fucking leave me!"

Tears fell from the corners of Wynn's eyes leaking into her blood matted blonde hair, "You're- you're gonna be ok. You were always stronger."

"I can't do this without you." Kit's body began to shake as sobs threatened to rip him apart, "Please! I can't, Wynn!"

You hadn't noticed the field had grown still. That the walkers were taken care of and that your group was beginning to grow closer. You didn't see Maggie crying as Glenn held her or Carol tearing up. You didn't see Dean lower his head in pain. You didn't see anyone else's sadness or pain because Kit's was overwhelming.

"D-Did you give- Gabe?" Wynn's breathing was hoarse and pained.

Kit nodded, "I can get it. I can get it back, you can share it. It can save you."

He tried to jump up to race back in, but Wynn's hand lifted to brush against his. The weak contact made him paused, "Don't. Please stay with m-me."

Kit fell back to his knees as he cupped her face. He brushed her hair away from her face and tried to wipe the blood from her pale skin. A sob escaped his lips as he leaned over her.

"M-My song." Wynn breathed. Her voice was painfully weak and it only brought more tears to your face, "Please."

"Oh my my... Oh my stars", Kit tried to sing but his voice was shaking, it was breaking with every sob that shook him, "Everything you see is ours, or it could be...if you could try. I wish you would, I wish you might." He paused as Wynn closed her eyes and smiled, "If everything you've said to me has been true...Then all my stars are leading me to you..."

Wynn's chest stopped moving, as her smile grew slack. Kit let out a cry of pain as he leaned his forehead against hers. Castiel tightened his arms around you as your sobs grew louder. Nothing was louder than the heartbreaking screams from Kit though. It sounded like someone had ripped out his heart, his other half, and you were certain that was what had happened.

_________

Shane could hear the screams from outside. They sounded male, but he couldn't tell whom it was from. Carl tried to pass him again, but Shane blocked the cell door and forced Carl back again. Carl let out a huff of frustration and sat against the wall where Beth was holding Judith.

"Are they ok?" Beth questioned.

"I'm sure everything is fine." Shane said in reassurance. He stepped out of the cell just in time to see Rick heading toward them with a calm smile on his lips. "Stay here." He took a few steps forward and Rick stopped a few feet from in front of him, "Rick, what happened?"

Rick shrugged, "Last I saw the guardian angel was being eaten, but it honestly isn't much of my concern."

Shane tensed. Guardian angel was Wynn. He was concerned, but his concern was focused on what stood in front of him because it sure as hell wasn't his old friend. Rick's voice was darker; his southern tone was missing and replaced with a formality that hinted at an ancient timeframe.

"Dad?"

Shane shifted so he stood in front of Carl who had just stepped out of the cell. Rick's smile grew as his eyes snapped to Carl. That was when Shane noticed how much shadier his friend's eyes were.

"My son." He spoke and held his hand out, "Come to me, Carl."

Carl could tell something was wrong and didn't move. Shane's hand hovered over his gun. This wasn't Rick, but it was Rick's body. This is what the Winchesters were talking about right? Had the black taken over?

"Get back to the cell, Carl."

"Shane-"

"Protect Beth and Judith, Carl." Shane snapped and Carl backpedaled into the cell.

Shane took a deep breath, "I know you're in there, brother. You gotta fight this. You're stronger than this!"

"Hmm, he's really not." The black spoke, "Stronger that is. He is in here, watching, pushing against my presence, but it's more pathetic than anything else. I wonder..."

The black drew Rick's gun and fired it twice. Shane stumbled back in shock. He glanced down to see the blood beginning to stain his shirt from the bullet holes. The pain began to settle in him as he fell to his knees. The black walked over and kicked Shane to his back then rested his foot on the wounds making Shane grimace.

"Interesting. Rick is angry. He didn't want me to shoot you." The black thought aloud and tilted his head, "I suppose you can take comfort in that, Shane. Your friend didn't want you to die this time. Congratulations."

The black lifted his gun to aim it through the cell door at Carl who stood in front of Beth and Judith protectively. A glow filled the room and the black snapped his attention across the room to see Gabriel walking down the stairs. There was a glow in his eyes and around his form casting shadows of his magnificent wings behind him. He stepped down onto the main concrete floor.

"Leave." Gabriel spoke. His usual casual tone was replaced with an ancient power older than time itself.

The black chuckled, "You're dying, Gabriel. So is Shane. This is quite a problem isn't it?"

There was a high pitch hum that filled the air forcing Shane to squirm in pain while Carl and Beth covered their ears. Beth clutched Judith to her chest to try and comfort the child as she cried out in pain as well.

The black's smug look faltered as he flinched. The archangel had more power than he had anticipated, but it was short lived. Gabriel would have to make a choice and if he wasn't here then it would cut the choice down to two impossible options.

"I've already won, archangel." The black scoffed before disappearing entirely leaving Rick's revolver on the concrete floor.

The glow disappeared and the hum vanished as Gabriel stumbled forward. Shane was dying, he was dying and there was only enough grace for one. He fell to the ground beside Shane who spat out blood as he clutched to his abdomen.

"You gotta stop him. You gotta save Rick." Shane snapped.

"I thought I could." Gabriel said in a tired voice. He lifted his gaze to Carl and Beth who were watching him. Judith was still shrieking. "I thought I was the hero of this story. The archangel who would save the world, save heaven."

"What are you talking about?" Shane coughed.

Gabriel closed his eyes in exhaustion, "I'm dying even with the grace. My entire life, I cheated death, but this time...this time I think I might have to try and face it." He set his hands on Shane's wounds making Shane grunt out in pain.

"Don't save me. They need you more than they need me." Shane barked.

"I'm pretty lucky. They might still find a way to save me after I do this."

"Gabriel-"

"I'm not the hero of this story." Gabriel said softly as his hands began to glow, "I'm never the hero of the story. My job- I put the heroes on the right path. I point them in the direction they need to be in. I don't need this grace to do that, but I do need you alive."

The glow grew blinding and Shane screamed out in pain.

________

You were sitting in the main area with the tables with Maggie sitting beside you. The others were outside trying to fix the front of the prison well enough to keep walkers out because the truck wasn't only a quick fix. They needed something to last longer than that. A few days at the least.

Wynn was dead. Kit was out there digging a grave and anyone who came close to try and help was shoved away. You had tried, but eventually Castiel had to drag you away after Kit ignored you.

Rick was missing. Carl and Beth had explained the situation that he had come in possessed by the black. That the black had shot Shane twice and planned to kill them as well. Then Gabriel showed up and he disappeared without a trace.

Shane wasn't dead. He was unconscious with bullet scars on his abdomen. Gabriel wasn't dead either, but he was close to it. He was lying on a cot with a wound on his shoulder that was going back in time.

That had been the big secret he kept from you. He hadn't been sick, he had been dying. When he saved your life taking the bite mark on your shoulder and transferring it to his it had never fully healed. Most of it had scarred over, but the open wound gave him those symptoms and now that all the grace was gone he was getting worse. The small wound was growing larger as scar tissue disintegrated into an open wound. Nobody knew for sure how much time he had. Castiel and Crowley guessed that once the scar completely disappeared leaving only a wound the clock would start and he'd slowly get worse until he died and then came back as a walker.

Your head snapped up as you saw Kit march by you. Just like you he was covered in Wynn's blood still, but now he also had dirt stains everywhere. He marched by you and into the cellblock without a passing glance. You jumped up to follow him after a moment of hesitation.

Kit was sitting on his cot staring at the wall in front of him. His gaze was unfocused, his body was tense, and there was something in his eyes that you had never seen there before. Pure hatred.

"K-Kit?" You said softly. He didn't reply. He didn't even act like you had spoken at all. You didn't even know what you were doing. You wanted to comfort him somehow, but was there anyway to do it? Nobody could say anything to you that would stop the hurt of Wynn being dead so you knew that there were no words that could help Kit, but you had to try right? Wynn asked you to take care of him, which meant you couldn't just sit aside in your own mourning to let hi close in on himself. "Kit."

"When we met we made a connection." He said in a tone that didn't even sound like him. It was broken and cold, monotone. His fingers traced the tattoos on his arm, "It wasn't like connections humans make. Human connections are fragile. They change over time. Sometimes they fade..." His voice didn't shake. It was firm and strong, "Angel connections don't. They never waver or bend. They never fade. Ever since we made that connection I've felt her in my grace. When the gates shut and we lost most of our grace I couldn't feel her there, but the connection it...it shifted." He let out a harsh chuckle, "It shifted to our minds. I could feel her there and she could feel me, but now..."

"I- I don't know what to..." You came in closer.

"Now, she is gone." Kit said and stood up. You took a step back as he walked forward, "It's like someone stabbed me through my mind. I'm not dead, but a vital part of who I am is. I'm missing something."

He reached past you and grabbed his guitar. Kit held it in his hands and then closer to his body as he mindlessly plucked at the strings. The words echoed in your mind from so long ago.

'As long as I'm alive, Kira will be in perfect playing condition.'

"Wynn got me Kira." Kit breathed as his hands tightened around the guitar, "And so I wrote her song. Back when she wasn't sure what we could be, but I knew. I knew from the moment I saw her that we would be a team. Partners."

There was a pause of silence as Kit held the guitar in his hands. He stared down at it, but his facial features didn't change. He still remained unnaturally stoic and cold.

"She'll always be a part of who we are." You said softly, "In our memories, she lives on and-"

"She's gone, [Name]."

"Kit-"

"She's gone!" Kit yelled in rage. His hands tightened around the neck of the guitar as he swung it out and against the concrete wall. The sound of snapping strings filled the air along with splintering wood. He swung the guitar three more times until the neck itself snapped in half. Kit was shaking as anger rolled off his body. His fists were pressed against the wall as he leaned over the shattered Kira. You stepped forward when he spoke in a low, dangerous voice, "Leave, [Name]."

You shook your head. You couldn't just leave him like this, "Kit-"

His gaze snapped to yours and for a second you didn't recognize who stood in front of you. In that moment you realized the ageless power that used to hold him together made him different from you and the others.
